I've had the privilege of seeing a female cardinal singing. She's paired with a male and they're the only couple in our area. Such a beautiful bird.

It's almost like a bird Bingo when you see this. It's so exciting. Glad you had the chance, and thank you for sharing.

I have had cardinals nest in my back yard for years. I love their song and I can usually get both of them to come out and sing to me. And I almost always have the male come and sit on the fence or in one of the trees in the back yard and talk to me.

That sounds so special. It's amazing the bonds we develop. And they totally know you and know they can count on you too :D.

It's such a joy to hear, especially if you get the winter blues. They signal spring

oh thanks for the cool tips- you're so informed and just a delight to listen to! I live in north central North Carolina and I am lucky enough to have a beautiful and brilliant bright red alarm clock, with the cheeriest, most clearly ringing songs! He begins his serenade promptly at first light all throughout the year- juuust after the neighbor's rooster wakes the sun up of course 🐓🐔🐣🐦☕🌄🕕🌞🌦❄🔈🔉🔊

Ahh yes. The red alarm clock. I know it well. I've come to love the red alarm clock (Sometimes I'll have a robin or carolina wren instead). After a long and dreary winter, hearing the morning calls, especially in January and February gives me joy because spring and sun will soon return.
Now, the roosters..... oh that is another issue. We had a neighbor who had backyard chickens. And it would be 3 am when that rooster went off. And he would sound off every 10 minutes. The neighbor didn't know the sex of the chicks in the beginning. It was once they got older and problematic that he had to do something about them.
Happy birding and thank you for sharing.
