I, too, loved Blood Over Bright Haven. It's in my top ten! I loved Sciona and all the supporting characters. It's one of the best groups of characters I read in 2024. And thank you for sharing this list; I will definitely read The Dispossessed. It's time for some Le Guin in my life.
i adore the dispossessed!!! It was my first Le Guin, and I ended up reading 6 of her other books last year, plus another I'm about to finish. i just cannot put them down 😭
I read the self-published version of Blood Over Bright Haven and LOVED it! ML Wang has become one of my auto-buy authors, I can't wait for whatever she brings out next. My favourite book of the year was The Measure by Nikki Erlick because I love a concept book and I wasn't expecting it to make me cry 💛
Happy New Year! Poisonwood Bible is on my 2025 TBR and now looking forward to reading it, just started War and Peace as an audiobook but its a long term commitment. Definitely want to read Blood Over Bright Haven, its so highly recommended.
I liked the first two locked tomb-books but I wanted to save Nona until the final book Alecto the Ninth comes out. I'm glad you liked Nona, and that the series is still good
I really want to read Blood Over Bright Haven this year!! And I super agree with audiobook 5 stars feelings like they need a reread to know if they’re true five stars! My audiobook honourable mention from this year was definitely Nevada by Imogen Binnie, but I feel I need to find and reread a physical copy to know if it’s an all time fave.
I also read Anne Frank in 2024 and was surprised it was more than I had assumed. So glad I stopped putting it off. I also read Poisonwood Bible after my librarian recommended it. Not my usual thing and while not a new favourite I enjoyed it way more than expected. Loved the Scholmance series! Loved, loved part of Strange The Dreamer - the library and journey but lost interest when he got there and met those characters. I've started War and Peace :)
I haven't read many great books this year but a shout out for W&P, Piranesi, Anni Bot (surprised I liked it so much) and enjoyed re-reading Brave New World. Got bogged down with a lot of Booker nominated novels but did enjoy James. By far the worst book I read this year was The Ministry of Time. Great idea but badly executed and hyped to hell. Bee Sting was underwhelming, I preferred Prophet's Song. Here's to a much better year! Your top 3 sounds well worth a look. Also Private Rites sounded like a great read too.
My top 8 was a little luck by Claudia Piñeiro, still born by guadalupe nettel, the neopolitan novels by elena ferrante, wuthering heights and my top one was Mrs caliban by rachel ingalls
I read The Lathe of Heaven this year and absolutely adored it! It is in my top three of the past year :) together with An Apprenticeship or The Book of Pleasure (by Clarice Lispector) and The Summer Book (by Tove Jansson)
I have read this year 27 books, which is more or less average for me. And I have 5 faves: Overstory by Richard Powers Howl's moving castle by Diana Wynne Jones I who have never known men by Jaqueline Harpman Children of time by Adrian Tchaikovsky Elena knows by Claudia Piñero It was a good reading year, but not incredible and I hope I find more fantasy faves in 2025😊 (which is usually my main genre as well) Thanks for your reccs. I am reading Gideon soon this year, I got it based on your recommendation longer ago :)
I wanted to read blood over bright haven, but to be honest, the first chapter really didn’t do it for me. 🙈But now that I listen to you, I feel like given it a second shot! War and peace is one of my favourite novel of all time but it is quite hard to recommend it because of its size 😅
Hi, I love your videos! I wann to recommend „We will be Jaguars“ by Nemonte Nenquimo to you. It is incredibly great! I cannot stop thinking about it! I read it for Ecuador RATW.

I loved The Poisonwood Bible and Strange the Dreamer and have read both of them more than once which I don’t do often unless it’s a classic.
I'd love to reread both, they're so good!!
Happy New Year! I can’t wait to read the Dispossessed! ❤

My favourite this year was Katherine by Anya Seton, other favourites are Piranesi and Tomorrow 3x
I loved Piranesi and I haven’t read Katherine but I really like Anya Seton.
Adding Katherine to my tbr now!!
