The entire subplot of Gajeel wanting a cat is one of the best things Fairy Tail ever did XD
I just love how they developed even characters like Happy and Charle in this arc.
That's what special about this anime.
Don't like other anime's where they only focused on some special characters

Erza is too sweet really, she's still fondly looking after her friends' love lives even though she didn't get to have her own happy ending.
Don't worry she confessed to Jelal in 100 year quest and asked him to join FairyTail and Jelal told he need some time to think about it 😌

And finally, the BEST goodbye to a character. Saying goodbye to Mystogan. It made me tear up! (And I love how it isn't in some form of a fake-out death or I would've screamed)

Lasagna's return. Yeah I'm sorry, but some things are better off gone for a better story or a better character growth, Mira's case is a prime example that it's like nothing's reminding her of why she became all sweet and kind now that Lasagna is back (don't take the last sentence too literally. I know that she knows why she's all sweet and kind now, but just imagine how more determined she is to protect Elfman if Lasagna isn't here. Since it's just the two, if she lost Elfman she'd lose her last blood-related family. Heck, if Elfman _did_ die, Mira can have a small arc of her own where she's all alone thinking she'd lost her only family and eventually coming to realize that her family is there in front of her, the guild. And she would try to protect everyone as that is what Lasagna and Elfman would've wanted)
Not my top 3 but it's so good and unique my top 3 are tartaros GMG and tenrou
From what I've seen this has always been considered a mid arc, everyone usually agrees top 4 is some order of Tartaros, Tenrou, Tower of Heaven and GMG,
Imo I think that edolas gets dragged down 1 because act 2 definitely drags a little compared to other arcs, 2 because it's definitely overshadowed because it's in-between 2 arcs that directly deal with the baram alliance and have some of the fandoms favorite moments and long lasting effects for the series
Where as the biggest thing in this arc long term is the departure of mystogan and Gajeel gets a cat.
It's not a bad arc I certainly think it's underrated and Natsu's speech about borrowing power from tomorrow during dorma anim lives rent free in my head but I can understand why people don't care for it as much
not really, it's kinda the definition of a mid arc, its pacing is bad, it's disjointed from the main plot, the only things in this arc that really mattered is mystogan (a character with less than 3 min screen time) leaving and lisanna return + panther joins. I genuinely thought this is a filler arc when I first watched it
Edolas is one of the best arcs of the series imo. Can't wait to see you react to it

I started at the start of Gray's first story arc. I didn't really watch the first episodes since I was still watching the last episodes of Fairy Tail, and it'd be weird to just switch between the last and first episodes.
Regarding best boy Mysto: The master knew and somehow laxus also got wind of it
EDOLAS ARC LETS GOOOOO
Happy and Charle were the last ones I expected to have a great backstory. I didn’t think much of it when I saw the episode when Happy was an egg. But wow I enjoyed the Edolas arc

Welcome to by far the worst arc of the series. Have fun. If you can make it through this, you'll adore the entire series.

@@Niki91-HR Well, just think about which arcs are even in contention for that title, and compare. Is Edolas better than Tower of Heaven? Tartaros? The final arc? It also doesn't help that the arcs surrounding it are some of the highest points in the series. It makes the drop in quality all the more apparent.

Still even when it comes down to preferences it aint the worst. The only bad thing in all of that is that we "lose" Mystogan to his real home.
