METRA MAYHEM! - Railfanning Chicago

Footage shot on July 11th, 2016 from about 5-7:30pm. Sorry for the minor shakiness in some parts - I did not have my tri-pod during my layover in Chicago between the Empire Builder and Lake Shore Limited trains. Videos taken from the Canal and Clinton St. crossings. Thanks for watching!

Ever since I was little boy, I love the design of F40PH locomotive, After they are amazing 😉, I love passenger trains like Amtrak and commuter trains like Metra of Chicago and CalTrain of San Francisco! I glad Metra uses old Amtrak F40PH locomotives, I wished I lived in Chicago, Illinois so can take ride on Metra Commuter Rail, I’m huge railroad fan of Metra!

Thanks Andrey! Yeah i was a neat catch - Only a few freights go on that short track to transition to the Chicago Aurora line a day. Glad i caught one there.

metra has been with my family for years we always ride on metra travel or for important needs but yeah Metra is with us all the time and I like it too and it's kind of cheap well not always but it depends on how much people you bring with you it's you from Round Lake toChicago is about 1 hour about and also 15 stops and Tre stations but it's worth it so shut out to Metra for being with our family
