Consider this,if you were selling rat traps but the public wasn't buying then you'd give them a reason, like flooding a specific town with mice to create a rodent problem so people will buy your rat traps. What if the"hackers" are actually credit repair companies,or companies that promise to guard your information trying to force the public to buy their services?
This is far more likely, just go by the fact that certain articles talking about the breach promote websites to "scrub your breached data from the internet". What happens is hackers breach the info, sit on it, talk to companies about what they have & then sell it off to the highest bidder, then word gets out when ready and services explode in profit out of fear among the populace. Black hat hackers are really awful people.
Not our fault, we expect you to give us all brand-new SSI numbers. This will also be hard on the hackers because all their information stolen is now obsolete. We should be able to get fresh credit history.
So a “NATIONAL” US agency is responsible for this? But people in Canada and the UK have been affected, too? The key word here is National. If it’s a national agency, they wouldn’t have other countries info to be breached. I’m not buying it. There’s something else going on here and they knew since April but it took them this long to get their stories straight. And something this serious hasn’t been made viral? We’re a couple days in and this is the first I’ve heard of it.
TH-cam algorithms not even posting this I found it looking up current news but this should be sent to everybody's phones like a amber alert, everybody's SSN meaning even children and new newborns will need to worry about stolen identity, they trying to bring in the chips so they say this don't happen again 🤔🤔
@@bethmendoza1847 I’m the only person I personally know that just found out about this. They are not blasting this information on all the media platforms. Celebrities cheating on their spouses get better coverage than this.
Well, sure glad this info didn't come out till they did their due diligence because that just makes everyone feel so much better. More info and a trial? what the hell is this going to do . How about putting the time and work into PROTECTING every citizen that has a SS number?
What good does it do to freeze 2 out of 3 credit bureau accounts? I was able to easily freeze 2 of them, but the final one refuses to verify my identity, even when I type the passcode they send to my email inbox. So I was able to freeze only 2 instead of 3.
Most of the breached data is actually falsified and incorrect. If you get access to the data and search up your name, your phone number might be there but the address and SSN are totally random.

@@CyrilCommando Exactly!Even t mobile and Verizon sell and share our information to 2nd and 3rd parties. They say so in the phone contract
- Maybe it’s our own government so they can give new ss #’s to illegal immigrants.
Like problem reaction solution?
And it took 4 months after to notify people of this? All planned.
Even the reporters that report this ! 😮

So glad that's the government's numbers
Looks like we are going to need new IDs and other stuff.
Why didn’t they warn us ahead of time, why didn’t they let us know before they send those letter out? 😡
@@Vilanennlyy Exactly! And with all the evictions and people being displaced, many of them won’t even see those letters. This is a mess!
Wow, so basically it’s called hypocritical
So do we have to get a new social security number or what we have to do?
Your SS # is not what most believe. RESEARCH
I’m glad I lock all 5 of my credit bureau last year when I found out there were more then 3
This happened in april? How can we sue?

Company is called pen (something).
No one has offered credit monitoring. Put a fraud alert on your credit.
