This extremely 1-sided battle proved how devastating America's combined arms combat doctrine is when it's used correctly. This is how our military is set up to fight. Soldiers/Marines on the front lines supported by indirect fire and armor (artillery/tanks) and air cover. I never saw it fully used in combat due to the risk of collateral damage, but during our train up, my company participated in a combined arms operation at the NTC/Ft Irwin. It involved A-10s, AH-64s, 1 F16, M1A2 Abrams and lord only knows how many assorted artillery pieces. It was freaking insane.
There is a very well done video basicly minute by minute of this battle. The Russians and Syria didnt think we could coordinate this level of attack with such a small amount of ground forces. Had we not been able to get the air assets in the fight, we would have lost. But the one thing we do better than any other military is logistics.

I took some courses on 20th-century Russia and China during my graduate program at Texas State University. Soviet Russia's military had a saying like this, 'poke the enemy in the belly with a bayonet, if it's soft charge full ahead, but if it's hard retreat.'
I loved the new credit screen, that pan out was dope, great video on that battle, and a testament to American air power is again shown to be true.
A merry-go-round with heavy caliber bullets. 😂. Please tell me someone wrote that on their Apache. 😂😂
Wagner mercenaries taught they were facing just a bunch of rag-tag militias men ; nothing to worry about . Talk about bad intelligence.
nah, they knew what they were up against. They were cocky.
@@RoyD_S It's russia, they don't have intelligence.
@RoyD_S in that case , they seen a case of combined arms . " The wise learn from the death of fools ."
Those Wagner troops very briefly felt kinship with the spirit of a whale visited by the ghosts of RFK Jr Past, Present and Chainsaw.
Bad intelligence. Because they were Russian they were unintelligent. Goddamn Russia
imagine thinking russia as remotely as capable as the US at warfare. now imagine all of NATO lmao
Ukraine is able to take more land in a month than what Russia can take in a year. Ukraine. A mostly Soviet era fighting force.
Wtf are the Russians going to do against an F-22, F-35, B-2, or B-21? Well, other than die
@@jloiben12 true, while Murica decimates goat herders easily
To be fair, all of NATO isn’t even half as capable as just the U.S. Military.
But we can imagine... Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya and Syria... where Nato lost...
Do you mean the F 22 and F 35 that are not combat-ready?))) how are almost all American weapons?)))
As a Kurdish person, thank you for covering us,
Your people deserve all the peace and prosperity of the world
This story never gets old.
Just like Wagner troops.
I wonder what was going through their heads when SHTF... other than bullets, bombs, and artillery.
Those Wagner troops very briefly felt kinship with the spirit of a whale visited by the ghosts of RFK Jr Past, Present and Chainsaw.

"A merry go round with machine guns" 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
This operation shows how critical air superiority is. This is why Ukraine is struggling without it
Is that F 16 not a game changer?😂😂😂
The commentary / narration is great. A God's eye view graphic of troop locations and movement would be icing on the cake.
Wagner literally represents the best that Russia could even field, and they didn't stand a chance.
Spetsnaz?
You unironically have a warm temperature IQ if truthfully believe this
@@MalcolmYearby Special forces are not regular fighters, they are good for specific sets of missions, not direct head-on battles.
Wagners too are not regular fighters..they are just dirty cards of Russians..just as Blackwater is for Americans
Thwy had no official support meaning their hands were tied just saying
As you were talking about “watching your vehicle going up in flames,” at first I thought you were referencing what the electric scooters-vehicles were doing as they were hit by hurricane Helene.
Request of the US Military: "Russia, retreat your forces!"
Russia: "There are no russian forces in the vicinity."
*Battle-battle-scroched-earth*
USA: "there are no russians"
Keep up the great work Simon (and team)!
I seem to recall an early version of warographics where Simon was concerned this type of channel, providing updates on current conflicts and a perspective on Foreign Affairs, might not be something that would be monetisable through the yt algorithm. (perhaps i am misrecalling?).
But this vid has been up 1hr, and it has 14k views (about to hit 15k whilst typing this ...), 1.4k updoots, and 167 comments.
and the channel has a measly ( /s) 950k subs
Keep up the great work, and thankyou :)
Pronunciation of Conoco has me 😂😂
The a**es f***ing kicked quote was hilarious lol.
There's a reason russian men are more known for ballet than battle. Unlike their western counterparts, they're not exactly a martial people.
You’ve never seen Russian ballet training have you? It’s intense. It’s not delta intense… but it’s not the exact opposite.
With this and the special Situation Room, I really dig the outro that the Warographics team are doing. I hope this stays on for future videos.
Russians: This is just a training exercise, no need to worry.
US military: 🤝🏽A successful training exercise..it was
This one is CRAZY no matter how many times I hear it
Murica, fuck yeah!
One of your very best videos, thank you!
A B-52... They were clearly trying to make an example
So far, one of the greatest FAFO episodes of 21st century.
Somehow I cannot visualize Simon playing war thunder 🤣😂
Seems like every military or history based channel is doing their own version of this battle now and its great.
↓👍 2:28 To skip War thunder ad
This extremely 1-sided battle proved how devastating America's combined arms combat doctrine is when it's used correctly. This is how our military is set up to fight. Soldiers/Marines on the front lines supported by indirect fire and armor (artillery/tanks) and air cover. I never saw it fully used in combat due to the risk of collateral damage, but during our train up, my company participated in a combined arms operation at the NTC/Ft Irwin. It involved A-10s, AH-64s, 1 F16, M1A2 Abrams and lord only knows how many assorted artillery pieces. It was freaking insane.
My favorite part about this story…
When Wagner called and asked them to stop 😂
It wasn't Wagner, but the actual Russian liaison office.
A classic example of how soilders are used as cannon fodder the world over .
The battle of Khasham still gives me warm fuzzies. Giant flex 💪 Any opportunity to try out all that sexy hardware
I've been waiting for you to cover this! Finally!!!
Once again Russia proved they were the 4th best military in Syria. 😂
There is a very well done video basicly minute by minute of this battle. The Russians and Syria didnt think we could coordinate this level of attack with such a small amount of ground forces. Had we not been able to get the air assets in the fight, we would have lost. But the one thing we do better than any other military is logistics.
They found out
I love this video 🎉
A video about journalists in the war zones maybe?
Simon just did one recently. Try looking it up on the channel. I'm sure you can manage.
This reminds me of the battlefield documentaries on Discovery Channel when I was a child! great video!
Ha ha ha that's what happens when you mess with the best military on this earth
As a wise man once said, If Aroundeth Thou Fucketh, Out thou Shalt Findeth 🎉
This escapade was pure comedy gold. Most powerful Nation state Vs 2nd rate PMC. lololololol....
Simon, your mic was jacked up for this one. All your S’s sound like fajitas sizzling on the grill.
A Russian PMC vs Delta & SF 😂 no surprise it was an absolute massacre
Interesting! Hadnt heard abkut this. Thanks!
(23:19 PS syntax! Not "if" and "would" in the same subclause.)
Now do Wagner vs the Tureg rebels.
"hey guys, you think the Americans will do anything if we attack this oil field?"
"Nahhhhhh"
