I just hope GW2 doesn't botch a Mursaat story for the third time in a row for GW2. Lazarus (the real Lazarus) was only on screen for like 5 minutes before dying. Mabon was INCREDIBLY fascinating and introduced so many possibilities by being a friendly Mursaat and therefore have reason to stop and chat for massive lore drops. And then he just... wanders off and dies. Like... a couple of hours after we met him. Lazarus should have escaped and we'd have been forced to give up the hunt because Balthazar was the bigger threat at the time. Mabon didn't have to be front and center, but he shouldn't have been killed off so soon. So I swear to god Anet you better not introduce another surviving Mursaat and then fridge them three seconds in.
Side note, add a member of the Forgotten race to the Crystal Bloom. Aurene had corrupt corpses. There were branded Forgotten in PoF. We know Aurene was trying to purify the Brand. They don't have to be front and center, but have a Prismatic Forgotten just vibing somewhere. You could even lean into them having partial amnesia because their spirit passed on to the Mists centuries ago, and Kralkatorick raised their corpse, so the corpse doesn't fully remember who or what it is, giving you reason for them not to just be like "Here's a complete written history of the last Elder Dragon Rising and/or the Prophecies campaign."
I'm just happy to let Secrets of Obscure behind. Honestly I think that expansion dropped the ball in therms of exploration and story, comparing with other expansions. Amnytas and Mage Tower was the only maps I liked. Nayos map is disappointing.
I'd be fine with wizards tower being final player hub and central of all future events, almost like power rangers central wheres Zordon. And astral ward sensing us or we coming with them to new places to explore
I think they're using expansions to lay groundwork for introducing Tengu and Kodan at some stage. Tengu had heaps of updated models in EoD. So basing stories in locations with those two races allows more efficiency in developing new races on the side without slowing down expansion production.
@@wafflingmean4477 A long time ago ANet did say that Tengu used the same skeletal model as the Charr so its not like they have to redo a lot in terms of design. The real work is armor and making it all fit on the Tengu properly.
Yeah, not gonna happen. Doing armor sets for 5 different races is already heaps of work. Imagine doing *hundreds* of refittings to old armor for a new race. I would love tengu though. 👉🏻👈🏻

It is interesting why would we use the warclaw over skyscale... Maybe flying will be forbidden without some masteries... Or warclaw will have new skills related to the expansion and the titans...
As versatile as the Skyscale is, it's actually not very fast, either in the vertical or the horizontal direction. With its endurance mechanic, it also ends up doing large "bunny hops" across longer stretches of terrain, landing and then taking off again so as to not bash your face against obstacles without the endurance to climb them. This makes the Warclaw a pretty perfect substitute in the vertical terrain of Janthir Wilds, where a double jump allows for more vertical maneuverability than a Springer, more horizontal cliffside traversal than a Raptor, and all of it likely faster than a Skyscale can get up the cliff. And the second jump probably acts like a fall damage cancel too, tbh. Besides all that, Anet have confirmed they've made a PvE use for the WvW chain pull also, and that's something the Skyscale straight up doesn't have.
Honestly land spear is a bit of a let down. I prefer they would revamp the old weapons, tweak the numbers and skill effects and made a new animations for them. SOTO story felt like it was made in one night and it has too many plot holes. I can't even sympathize with Peitha's plight for Kryptis' independence. I fear for JW's story if they continue to make less impactful story like SOTO's. I want us to be an explorer for once, not a savior of mankind. Homestead is honestly a HUGE surprise and I wan to decorate it with and let my children rest there when they're not logged in lol
They would have to create a new racial core personal story and redo every armor in the game to fit on the new race. It would be a monumental task and I'm glad they haven't wasted their time on that.
New playable race is sooo overrated. Not only it doesn't add any content by itself, it only amplifies development for fitting armors for another race. And then most of the people will play female human anyway. I would prefer they spent time on stuff that is actually important and can be enjoyed by majority of playerbase

Wgy doe janthir looks so underwhelming? It really does not look like a expansion at all! Looks so boring and bland! The colors the art work al lof it looks so grey washed! Non vivid colors, boring bland green, yellow colors! No great cinematics! Nothing new compated to other expacs besides the spears whihc are boring and so unnessarcy and the homestead whihc is the only good thing!An expansion should be huge!!!! It should be big impactful, cinematics, new stuff that is actually usefull not stupid unesssary spears! Like wtf who even asked for spears??? they could have focused their resourced into amzing new stuff but noo in stead they choose to focus on something that is pure garabage that is soo not needed! A lot of people asked for land spears. Try not to get too hung up on it even though it's not your thing. So many people were against mounts when they announced them with PoF but look where it got us.
1 - those expansions are supposed to be smaller, that's the concept... 2 - natural environments with less crazy stuff and flashy colors is good. I am tired of the super colorful shiny explosive crazy weird designs. Being more down to earth can be a good thing, and actually by creating a contrast with simpler environments the big important things stand out more. 3 - a LOT of people have been continuously asking for spears for years 4 - this expansion already looks 10 times better than SotO 5 - just calm down a bit...
I understand your frustration, I'm not really sure if I'll be buying the pre order or wait to see if at least the maps are really worth it. I really love GW2 in general but I mean, it's an EXPANSION, I wanna se the WORLD expand, not quality of life sht, I wanna see a cool story, huge maps with a really cool thematic and even though they are going for a mix of savanna with pine forest, when I looked at the map, the region really seemed small af. I wanna explore, I wanna see new things, crazy views, I wanna ride my mounts through the zones, I'm not really moved for spears and "look, now the warclaw can climb walls" or some sht. And just to finish, the region isn't even looking graphically great, everythings bland, not saying that I wanted to experience an LSD of collors, look at Majuma jungle, it's awesome as fk, you really feel you're inside a jungle and I hope I'm wrong but through the prints and trailers I'm not seeing anything this cool at all
