So, in the rules, the linesman has the ability to wave off an icing call if he deems the player going for the puck isn't putting in the effort to stop the icing. He saw Hedman just casually skating towards the puck and waved it off because he deemed Hedman wasn't trying hard enough.

The commentary was so TB biased, it was laughable. Glad the Avs performed a complete Vasil-ectomy
TB didn’t know what hit them….haha!
@Thomas Boyle true, I just liked the pun. A bad habit of mine
@Thomas Boyle There was a problem… the Lightning’s depth sucks wet dog ass and their prime scoring chances came solely from their top line and the odd tip in or bounce from the point. Plus, their special teams were pathetic. Vasy carried them in the finals, the Avs outclassed them so hard.
Glad you mentioned the commentating. One of the hardest parts of watching a “small market” playoffs run is espn’s insufferable bias. I had a hard time figuring this one out sense TB is also a pretty small market and a tropical climate hockey team but I guess they were pulling for the east coast and a dynasty story for another 30 for 30/E60. I feel like they’re getting pretty close to pulling a MTV where 90% of their content is devoid of any actual sports
@@russellm785 small market, but believe it or not, tampa is 100% a hockey city and the lightning are a huge deal there. They're way more popular than the Bucs & Rays..... I can't figure that one out either.
I watched each series and I somehow always got the guys biased AGAINST Tampa. Especially during the Leafs series, they might as well have been giving Matthews head behind Scotiabank. Believe me, I know it’s not fun having biased commentary.
Bruh this still gives me chills 🥲🥲🥲
Whats going on at the Tampa bench at 2:47 ? Is he throwing punches?
NOBODY gonna want Corey Perry next year ...he the jinx ...3 years 3 different losing Stanley cup teams ...great job Colorado
He got a Cup on Anaheim's 2007 roster
My favorite hockey player Nathan MacKinnon got a ring!!!
Great job making this look like an ESPN Classic
After Kucherov breaks his stick with 35 secs left he then goes to the bench and the trainer didn't have one ready he then proceeds to throw his gloves at the trainer CLASS guy 02:45
You're right, good eye. Wow!
No matter how many times I watch this, I keep hoping the Lightning won’t score.
“Perry got knocked down in front.”
Dude, he fell intentionally to try draw a call. 🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️ 2nd worst guy after mr Jack Edwards.
This will never get old.
Glad the Avs won. They're my Western Conference team and easy to root for.
I can only imagine how Corey Perry feels. He can take solace with getting his in 2007, but losing three in a row is still oof.
Most nerve-wracking moments of my life lmao. Go Avs Go
Thank you Landy! Our Captain !
Is there a parade date? Heading home July 7 but will move it earlier!!!!!!!!!!!!
It’s going to be held on Thursday at 10am downtown

Lekhonen went from the worst team to winning the cup. He should buy a lottery ticket 🎫 well done my man
he already won the lottery :)

@Tony1500 You obviously did, but he's not wrong.
There’ll be no three-peat.
Unless you're Corey Perry. In which case you just completed yours!

It still feels kind of unreal. Like I’m in a different universe. Tampa Bay losing? Someone else wins the cup? Seeing Tampa actually lose is a fever dream. Maybe some day I’ll wake up. I was so convinced Tampa was going to win, even after being down 3-1. They were unstoppable. No one could outlast them. Destiny laid its path for them. They had sort a magical element to their game, and they LOSE?!?!!!! I was rooting for Colorado to win but was never super confident until the literal last 10 seconds.
@@alexchen3332 to me it felt like Tampa was the champion for a decade and I was so happy to see someone else win 😭
It’s always hard to watch the defeat of the opposing team, the pain n sadness of All the hard work. I want to say that the sportsmanship is outstanding at the end and showing the love while taking a win is always what makes this sport great, and emotional at the end.
Best thing I seen all year watching this game, happy the Aves took it all away from the tampers...
I will never forget the Captain flopping around and crawling in the closing moments of this final battle
After blocking a potentially game-tying shot with his skate…
to all the Tampa Bay Lightning fans complaining ,.. "I have an extra salted can of nuts"~~~ yw
I'm not totally versed on the rules here - why exactly was icing waved off at the end?
0:16 kucherov has a wide open shot at the net and just waits until its completely blocked before shooting. I don't understand what he was thinking there.
21 years i waiting i watch and I said oneday it well happen. I was 37 years old my son was 8 years old . Now I'm 58 my son is 29 his Daughter is 7 and in last 3 minutes I was going nuts and went crazier when they won . My sweet Reyna said Grandpa you are 😨 me I had too stop and explain too her and she just smile and say okay I understand then I went back like I was a 37 again 😆 🤣
Finally we don't have to hear about pat maroon anymore
I’m still stunned on what Kucherov did with 21 seconds left, man literally rage quitted
2:57 abuse of an offical?..... I think so.... and Bellemares dive?.... both the league should look at..... regardless if the season is over or not....
I feel bad for the players..... all season it's like dont touch his hands dont interfere with someone skating and then the playoffs come around and it's well that's ok now sometimes....
What was that guy screaming about after the no icing call? I think 86 on the lightning
@@avsrock1561 where was bellmares dive? I liked him when he was an av last year but after seeing how dirty he got in this series, I can’t stand him now
It the DoPS is gonna look at anything out of this game, it should be Maroon's slash after the last goal. If Manson hadn't seen that coming and blocked it with his stick that could have been real nasty.
@@johncox7169 that’s what I was thinking. Not sure how Maroon didn’t get a penalty on that one. I know the refs were trying to keep the whistles in their pockets, but that one was just egregious!
I loved every minute of this was amazing karma after the snarky comments made towards Montreal the year prior, and then Colorado said the same thing to Tampa, "Your Stanley Cup finals was last round." beautiful delicious karma.
Asinine comment about what the Lightning have done "in this salary cap era", considering they circumvented that cap going into last year's playoffs. Full disclosure: I'm an Isles fan.
thanks for winning me $265 boys ❤
Amazing😍
Bowen Byram man...
that kid deserved CREDIT for that third period
I'm glad COL won,, 3X for TAM would of been too much.
How do they replace blades so fast or do they change skates?
Think they just clip in to the bottom of the skate?
I think Nick Paul is the only person on the Lightning I feel sorry for, he wasn't apart of the other teams, and he isn't Corey Perry.
1:41 That's our Josh on loan to Avs 😍🥰🤩
In real life, what would I prefer for my death 💀 ? Getting struck by a lightning ⚡️, or getting wiped out by a massive pile of snow rushing through the mountains 🏔?
Congratulations to the Colorado Avalanche !!! Fuck yeah
I bet on the Avalanche to win this game, easy money
Awww poor little lightning players crying after they won 2 cups in a row. Spoiled men being babies
@Thomas Boyle literally crying to the refs on every goal in the fucling series and demanding calls be made when there are no calls to be made actually makes you look like a fucking baby. Cope more, Go Avs Go.
I'm a bit sad for Corey Perry, he's such a good leader, good player, and allegedly an all around good guy. That being said, it's not as if he never won the cup...and if you just look at this year's selection for the HHOF you realize how many great players without a Stanley Cup in this day and age. Congrats to Colorado and to my favourite player of all time, Joe Sakic :).
Ok I’m an avs fan but why was that icing waved off? Didn’t see a tip or obviously a battle for it and the ref looked like he was looking for something. Very confused
So, in the rules, the linesman has the ability to wave off an icing call if he deems the player going for the puck isn't putting in the effort to stop the icing. He saw Hedman just casually skating towards the puck and waved it off because he deemed Hedman wasn't trying hard enough.
I'm an avs fan all the way, but I still have respect for all the Tampa fans and players. Lightning really did put on a fight for us. Only Tampa player I dont like is tom brady. Oh....wait.....whoops!!
1:41 #42 the mastermind of the WIN. : )
Let's go boys
Looks good on Perry
Tampa is screaming for a call.
Shocking. 🙄
2:55 whos the idiot that crosschecks the ref by the lightning bench? maybe not a good idea to be doing that
Kucherov did it
BLUE ON BLUE
ESPN announcing is the worst in cup history! WORST EVER
WOOOOOO Yeah I dont really watch hockey unless the avalanche are in the playoffs
Edit: lets go avalanche
If you ever feel like a failure, just remember Corey Perry lost 3 Stanley cups in a row…on different teams 💀💀💀
I seem to remember Marian Hossa as well. On the Wings against the Hawks when the Hawks won....on the Hawks against the Wings when the Wings won. In successive years.
@@BuriedFlame either I’m reading this wrong, or you got it all wrong.
He was with the pens against the wings when the wings won 2008 Stanley cup finals
He was with the wings against the pens when the pens won 2009 Stanley cup finals
He was with the wings against the hawks when the wings won 2009 Western Conference finals
He was with the hawks against the wings when the hawks won 2013 western conference semifinals
Refs to Tampa : “yeah he can’t play hockey with one skate, we’re not calling that shit”
Common sense prevails
Way to Go Avalanche wooooooooo
tampabay never stood a chance i dont know how they won two in a row
Because they were going up against teams that probably shouldn’t have been in the finals, plus the whole salary-cap argument that’s been beaten like a horse.
And this is coming from a Habs fan
Not half as exciting as Game 6 in 2013...)) Now THAT was a finish!
Oh, songs from the time they came and won their Cups
Good. Tampa Bay can go away for once
Just a reminder, all of these guys were playing their asses off for free.
Didn’t Kucherov learn anything when Coburn snapped his stick in 2015 that led to the Blackhawks icer 2nd goal? When you’re playing your last and most important shift of the season get a fresh goddam stick!
“But there were too many men on the ice with Kadri shot”-
“but TB had more players on ice than the AVS”…..
“Who gives a shit, it’s over. Remember adult children, once you fire a bullet you can’t get it back, like once a game or penalty is called or not, it’s over.”
TB were so crappy even several empty minutes of empty net were of no use. No icing because he STOPPED SKATING.
Why was the icing waived. I never understood that
Because Lightning weren't allowed to win.
Because the Lightning player didn't hustle for the puck, he just figured the refs would bail them out yet again. Nuh Uh, not this time.
Same reason the refs didn’t call the slashing when the TB player broke his stick on the leg of the Avs player
The tampa player could have reached it before the icing.
Because Hedman decided to suddenly skate like a paralyzed grandpa to wait until the puck went over the line. Not how icings work. They get waived off if you’re able to retrieve the puck before it reaches the line at a normal skating pace.
This game was stressful until the final buzzer sounded
LOL kuch at 2:46
Worst play by play guy ever. Had it muted all series. Miss ya Gary Thorne
Gary Thorne and Doc Embrick... Best hockey announcers ever..
That's the difference between somebody with a true passion for hockey and somebody just doing a job for a paycheck. Legend
Exactly the play by play announcer as no emotion for the game and very monotone. Especially in the final seconds, however the play by play over on sportsnet broadcast best call in the final seconds.
“The Dynasty will be denied, and a new legacy begins. They've reached the summit! And the Avalanche are 2022 Stanley Cup Champions!"
I was glad that ESPN got hockey back, but they needed a true hockey announcer not the one they put the whole series.
ESPN announcers were horrible all season. You would think that they would step up their game for the Stanley Cup finals. But if you watch the first half of the 3rd period, you wouldn't even think that these guys were in the same arena. They spent nearly 10 minutes of the period talking about meaningless trivia. When you mention the year and draft place of one of the players, why the F* bother calling the game???
AAAAAVS BABY !!!!!
What’s Hagel looking so completely shattered about? Been on the team a month and 1/2 at the trade deadline and acting like his brother got killed in the war.
To be fair, I’m pretty sure that was the first time he had ever been that far in the playoffs. He only came into the NHL in 2020. I’m sure you’d be heartbroken too if you made it that far only to be defeated.
@@1-upking119 Exactly. Hagel’s been in the NHL 2 years and crying a river. And standing tall with dignity have been Marcel Dionne, Henrik Sedin, Brad Park, Paul Kariya, Henrik Lundqvist, Pavel Bure, Peter Stastny, Eric Lindros, Erik Karlsson, Pat LaFontaine, Gil Perreault, Rod Gilbert, and many others who had every reason to cry and didn’t.
@@us-Bahn I’m gonna go out on a limb and say most of those guys were older than him then, so they were much more mature. Besides, plenty of players have cried like him after losing the cup, and dozens have had their head down like him too. Marchand became a meme because he was crying.
@@1-upking119 Yes, I respect your counter examples. I’m sure there are many. In Hagel’s case it’s not very convincing that a player so young, so new to the NHL, and so recently acquired by Tampa, could possibly have much skin in the game to justify a public display of emotional devastation.
A player getting off the ice must be within 5 feet of the bench OR the player must be out of the play and not intentionally handle or touch the puck with their stick or body before leaving. If the pick accidentally touches them, it doesn’t count as a penalty. Just looked it up, it’s in the rules. Using our resources we all have access to. Facts don’t care about feelings. Neither does it have bias
Fuck yes thank God. 😊
Man it was good seeing Lehky shine again this year
