You guys are lucky to catch the Broadway and Mission Bay in daylight hours. When I first got into serious photography in 1990, you could usually catch the Mission Bay rolling in after the morning fleet to the City, sometimes later if they had delays coming out of Warm Springs. Eastbound out of SSF, they’d always leave between 10 and Midnight. Broadway was late afternoon and night generally, only other daylight move once a year was circus train coming into SF, though they always left after midnight. Prior to 1996 Caltrain route was east/west for direction, based off SP practices. One night when I was running northbound into SF, we met four freights between Belmont and San Bruno, two dirty dirt trains, Mission Bay and Broadway. Of all days I didn’t bring my video camera, wish we had GoPros back then. Keep up good work.
Trainsf please listen, Your making a huge mistake working for Union Pacific Railroad, this the worst company to ever work for, Your wasting your time with them. You'll most likely be furloughed or the company will find a way to terminate your position, Hire for Fire. Just be very careful, If I were you I would have just kept being a foamer and still railfan your old job at Safeway it's more secure long term, Just reminder the railroad will always find a way to get ride of there employees, There even trying to get ride of the conductor & make the train a 1 man crew as only as the engineer! Thought times I know. If the railroad doesn't work out for you, You can always do something else. Best of luck to you bro.
