@ceruleanmindacademy it was racking my brain trying to figure out what it stood for till I finally found it in the depths of a tradovate forum. Then this vid came across my suggested feed 🤣 Thank you for clarifying how a lot of this works.
@@ceruleanmindacademy basically I was following along your video. I have a Tp 1 and Tp2 as well as BREAK even settings just like your video. It worked fine in Tradovate. But I was trying to do it in Trading View and only basic Brackets work Stop Loss and TP. Nothing more advanced.
@suno360 correct, tradingview does not allow for advanced ATM settings only basic ones. You would have to execute the trade on tradovate for the tradovate ATM settings to apply
@@ceruleanmindacademy can I ask another question please. My stop loss doesn't show the red line or any line across the chart to show where it's at. It just shows it on the side where all the numbers are. How can I make it have the lines to indicate where my stop loss and take profit are going to be.. Thank you
Grey question, I don’t believe there would be a way to do it per say. We would need to time it where the AT stops when you’re close to actually taking profit All I can think of is something like this; Take profit: 60 Stop loss: 50 Auto trail Stop loss: 50 Profit trigger: 1 Frequency: 10 It kicks in immediately and stops when you hit 50 ticks in your favor and will stay at break even. You’ll have 10 more ticks to go to fully take profit Adjust it to what you actually need tick wise
Thank you so much for this im making the switch from forex prop firms to futures so this video was very helpful! and beautifully explained for what I truly needed
I have a question. On the Auto Break Even + Auto Trail setting, what happens if the Stop value on the Auto Trail is different than the 20 Tick Stop that was placed above. In other words, if your Stop was set at 20 but it gives you a new Stop for the Auto Break Even, why is it giving an option for another Stop Value in the Auto Trail section? What Stop Loss is actually in play? Hope that question made sense. Thx!
That I haven’t been able to figure out, I always have the auto trail and main stop loss the same. I’m assuming the auto trail has the stop loss incase you just have an auto trail by itself
@@ceruleanmindacademy perfect thank you. I will give it a try tomorrow. I'm using the Apex copy trader so we will see how it goes using the brackets on Tradovate.
I am passing the Tradovate Evaluations. According to the rules, I have to close all orders before NY close at 5Pm EST. If I entered a bracket order How do I have to close it manually?
This is really great! I'm just starting to use multiple TPs with TrailStop (after doing lots of math if it'll be profitable). Did you ever find out the "offset" feature? Can you please make a video of using ATM with your risk management? I know everyone's different but I'd like to see your perspective.
Hey Jerry! I did, the offset feature would be how many points in profit you designate the ATM. So if I set an auto breakeven +2 offset. After it ABs it will put my stop 2 points in profit. When I get on my PC later I’ll edit this post with my settings 🤝🏽
generally for most of my trades i use a 15pt TP and SL on YM. Simple take profit and stop loss ATM. For my retracement or tweezer setups, I use the following (best viewed on PC) ; Type : TP + SL TP: 50-100 points (depends on what i see) SL: 30 pts Stop loss type: AB + AT Auto Break even; Profit trigger 20pts Plus: 5 Auto trail: Stop loss 10 Profit Trigger 20 Frequency 10 This auto breaks even after it goes 20 points in my favor and moves my stop to +5 in profit. Every 10 points it moves it trails my stop +10 points until i get stopped out for it hits my 50-100pt TP
If I have multiple TP I need to close all positions exit on market manually or it will open a position against me at the last one, or it will take my full position automatic at the last bracket
Are you opening up the order individually and manually setting the bracket orders, or are you setting it how I showed as an example for multiple take profits? If you enter in with a bracket order, and manually exit the position it will create an entirely new order aside from the bracket orders. Thats why it will open a new position for the original bracket orders. You -cannot- manually exit a single contract when you open multiple using brackets or you’ll run into that issue.
Hello all, Today I had a trailing stop hit my profit trigger but then it stopped me out in the negative. I noticed once it hit my trigger as the trade reversed, the trailing stop started to reverse in the opposite direction. Can anyone explain why it would do that? Thank you.
Hey Tariq, can you respond to this post with your exact settings for that ATM, and how many contracts you had active for that ATM setting? If you have discord; you can send me a friend request at Advent_ so you can send me a screenshot which will be easier for me to see what happened. At first glance it should not reverse the order unless something was put in by error or an extra order was placed
Wow thanks for the speedy reply. So basically I have my auto trail profit trigger set to move me within profit at @ $100. Then from there trail me until I get stopped out. It hit the trigger but then reversed to stop me out in the negative. The frequency is set to 5. And it was one contract. Thanks again for the fast reply.
To better assist, send me the following; -Ticker symbol you traded -Amount of contracts -Was the ATM set in ticks or profit -What was the take profit, and what was the stop loss -for the auto trail section, what was the stop loss, the profit trigger, and frequency -Trade entry price, trade entry time, trade exit price, and trade exit time
Yes! You definitely can for 1 order. What you would do is set your stop loss type to AB + AT (auto breakeven and stop loss). And then set the parameters to your liking
Thanks man. One question please. Is this ATM setup works for multiple accounts ? I just want to trade the 10 Apex accounts in the same way. Thank again.
Glad this helped! That question I’m not sure on. I don’t use a trade copier, I trade one account at a time. You should email Apex. If you get an answer respond to this reply so the answer can be shared with the rest of the viewers :)
@DefineStrength thank you! Yes the strat is the one of the best strategies that I’ve ever learned. It makes trading extremely simple, tells you exactly when to get in, when to get out, etc. Any questions let me know after you go through the material
@@ceruleanmindacademy ok will do. I’ve always traded the 1m chart. Is it effective on that time frame? And if so what’s the furthest out time frame I should start the levels? Last question until I go through the materials. Also I use futures. Heard in the one vid u said u use something else
@DefineStrength great question! When starting out using the STRAT, Rob recommends using the 4hr and 1hr time frames, then as you get used to it more, you can go to the lower ones. The lowest ones I use are the 5/15m time frame. For futures I have specific trade models outside of the strat that I trade. If I were to trade strat for futures as I did before again, I would focus on actionable signals and looking for high probability strat setups like reversals off of broadening formations or actionable signals off of key levels
