Also, I feel compelled to let you know this is by far the best step by step video I've seen. I've been looking for MONTHS and this is exactly what I was searching for. You break each step down and the movements are CLEAR. Other videos I've seen, the riders movements are too subtle to see on camera. This is perfection. Again, thank you.

This is still one of the best instructional videos for the fundamentals of horse riding. Please can you add to this video series because the clarity, step by step guide and demonstrations using real ponies rather than million dollar dressage horses makes this very accessible. More more more please!

I'm not a complete beginner, but I have not taken riding lessons since middle school when my family moved to a city. Now that I'm an adult and have moved back to the countryside, I'm hoping to get back into riding. This was both a really great refresher video and taught me a few things my old lessons never did! I'll definitely be watching the whole series :) Thank you for making it!

don't be nervous. be confident. fear is often one of the first things horses sense when you get on it, so if you're nervous, your fear will upset and scare the horse, making it easier for your horse to freak out.

Thank you for such an informative and well organised video! I am returning to riding after 8 years and feeling like a complete beginner, but this video has been extremely useful in giving me the confidence to start off my lessons on a good foot! Last time around (I took 6 months of weekly lessons on a school horse) I didn't do enough research in my downtime so I struggled with a few basic things, had trouble converting what I was told at the lesson while on horseback into my actions and posture, but you've kindly explained the very basics in such a clear manner that I hope I can apply in my lesson on Wednesday.
SUPER excited to start riding again by the way - horse riding has always been one of my favourite ever activities but I wasn't able to commit due to circumstances; now I'm not only in a position to commit, but horse ownership is now very much a real possibility in the next few months / year or two when I obtain enough experience riding and caring for horses to allow me to provide the appropriate care for my future buddy. Love these incredible creatures so much ❤️❤️🐴🐴

Well done. I have a friend who needs guidance in his riding and this video is perfect. Here in the western part of the USA, we ride a bit differently. We generally hold both reins in one hand. Also, we are taught to quickly and gently swing onto the horse from the ground. He lives in China where those who ride, ride like they do in your country. I liked that you emphasized going easy on the horses month.

This was good information for beginners, watching this I realized how different it is people ride. I ride western, I recommend not not leaning forwards or the horse will dump you. You use pressure of your butt to help the horse move forwards and backing up.
