Mindfulness can yield so many benefits. Well done and thanks for the inspiration!

I love timpsons. They're really good to their staff, apparently, and they make a point of employing folk who've been in jail so they can start building a work history, and honestly, have a job to start with, in a world where most employers won't consider them.

Yep - i started to do this - i have a load of blankets, stored carefully under my bed. I havent used them in 7 years and they are not in my way. My minimalist side is arguing with my prepper side as to what to do with them! 😂

They will be there when your current blankets wear out. Tape them inside a binbag to protect from dust.

I, too, realise that I have all the clothes, pots & pans, and general household stuff that I need, and I can't see myself spending much on that sort of thing in the future
Earlier this year I spent a wet, boring day trying on every pair of trousers, jeans, sports pants, and shorts that I have, and sorting them into three categories -
    1) Yes, OK, they fit me now
    2) Maybe, in a couple of months
    3) Not a chance!
Category (3) went to a charity shop, and I still have enough clothes for the forseeable future

Would not wear the dry cleaned suits until the spring when the weather is warmer. When I put food on to cook and I’m not going to be in the kitchen, I set a small timer to keep near me so I know something is cooking + the alarm will tell me when it’s ready. No more burnt food!

I use a small timer too to ensure I'm not distracted doing something else

Could you just take in the quilt covers? It's honestly just a matter of turning them inside out and stitching up the side/sides. Fitted sheets can be altered by taking in a tuck down the centre.

Sprinkle baking soda in the slow cooker pot add white vinegar and let fizz and rest a bit then try washing. 👵🏻

And I thought I was good at reusing/repurposing things. 😁I always hated wearing a suit - it just wasn't me - so they all went to a charity shop when I left my council job. Judging from my daughters, offices are far more informal nowadays anyway. Two of them love floaty dresses while the other one is always in casual trousers. Have a good day.

I just love reusing stuff . Recycling is all well and good but feels wierd to smash a jar and completely re build it . I’ve always fried to re purpose stuff . I made my kids old trampoline into a kind of gazebo . We call it the zen den . It’s a great hide to watch the birds because of net , I put a circular cover over ( meant to cover a hot tub I think ) and I dry my washing in it cos the wind comes through the net . Even in recent storms . It just needs 5 mins in dryer , instead of the 30/60 mins it would normally take . Just found an old folding picnic table and chairs in box , in the loft , going to keep in boot of car for quick set up in field . Re use jars for storage and Christmas tea lights…… sorry I’m waffling but I love it !

Timpsons won’t touch the Dubarrys, I tried a few months ago. They have to go back to Dubarry to fix which is very costly.

Karen, have you seen the food finders hub (all one word), trying to get a database of local farm shops and outlets to serve direct to the public

@@pheart2381 Yes, that 's the one.
Trying to get away from the supermarkets and get back to small shops and outlets.
Better food and sourced locally, not imported, what's not to like ? 🙂

You are good at crafts, right? If the wooly jumpers don't fit, how about pulling them down and knitting/crotchet something else?

I would give my eye teeth to find a proper old fashioned cobbler who can repair good shoes and boots properly. The modern ons only seem able to stick rubber soles and heelson but not much else

If you are in Cornwall the chap in the Pannier market in Truro is very good but always busy! Don't know him or his family personally btw.
