It's hard not to love Wendy so I totally understand you. Like Water's release was extremely special and emotional for fans. Wendy suffered a devastating fall December 2019, resulting in a fractured pelvis, cracked cheekbones, broken wrist, and more. She underwent reconstructive surgery and physical therapy but everyone was afraid she wouldn't be able to sing or perform again. At least not to the standard prior to her accident. To our surprise, she came back even stronger and Like Water was her thankful message go the fans for sticking by her during her recovery period.
In 2021 when I've watched the MV for the 1st time, tears were literally flowing down already hearing her sing again, but also with those incredibly touching lyrics
I also love great vocals, and I am constantly stunned by Wendy, but Seulgi (kinda like Shehllgee, no "j" sound) was instantly my bias when I first heard RV, just something about her tone and timbre that hits me just right. But in 28 Reasons, Seulgi just simply chose violence. And it's incomparable.
Wendy’s bside tracks “when this rain stops” and “the road” both have AMAZING vocals, even better than like water in my opinion! You should check them out ^^
Yes! Red Velvet my fave again!!!! 😻 Yeri currently doesn't have a solo album yet. The one you watched is from the SM Station Projects years ago and fun fact: She (Yeri) composed "Dear Diary" and then it was put out as one of the SM Station Projects.
Currently, Yeri is the only one not having a solo album. I guess she's currently concentrating on her new drama shootings, so we'd only have to wait if she wants to or not :)
Irene is underestimated as a dancer, but she can match not just RV's main dancer (Seulgi) move for move, but top-tier dancers in the _industry_ such as SNSD's Hyoyeon. It's the result of SM's training program.
🙌🙌🙌 yay! 🤗 I'm glad you enjoyed these! Seulgi is pronounced Sool-ghee. You mentioned tutting... Seulgi and Irene have a unit release, called 'Naughty', where the entire choreo is tutting. It's very impressive! Best to watch the mv, then the dance practice right after to get the full effect! It was a b-side they promoted alongside the title track 'Monster'... which if you haven't already seen it, 😳 YOU SHOULD. I know the feeling well... my favorite groups are mostly with SM 😂. It's totally the vocals, but also the SM sound in general just resonates with me more. Their songs can be wildly different from group to group, or even with in a group, but there's just something about the production quality that gives SM's music a distinct feel, no matter how different/experimental it might be, that I love. Gah, Wendy is just on a whole other level! 😭 Her It's Live performance of 'Like Water' is magic and totally worth a watch. When I first heard this track I was instantly reminded of Lee Ann Womack's 'I May Hate Myself In The Morning', which is one of my all time favorite country songs. Another great Wendy song is called 'Written In The Stars' and is a collab with John Legend. If you'd like a recommend for a NON SM girl group 😊 with the absolute best vocals of 4th gen, but who are CRIMINALLY overlooked, check out *Purple Kiss.* They are under the RBW label and are Mamamoo's juniors. They have one of the most immaculate, unique and diverse discographies in all of kpop... and for me, are one of only 3 groups I can listen to every single track they've ever put out, on repeat, and be perfectly happy. I'd start with; ~Ponzona (group debut) ~Can We Talk Again (pre-debut mv) ~Zombie ~Sweet Juice ~Festa They debuted as a 7 member group, but unfortunately JiEun withdrew after Nerdy promotions, due to an anxiety disorder. Fun tidbit when it comes to PurKi, they are one of VERY few gg that are actually involved in the writing/production side of their music, as well as the choreo. Their maknae Swan, actually wrote Ponzona as a trainee.
The "g" in Seulgi is like in "gift" not "giant", and the"i" is long "e". "Seul" rhymes with "Zool" the god from Ghostbusters. "Soo'ell-ghee". If not for Wendy, Seulgi could be a main vocal, and would be in almost any other gg. Check out "Girls Next Door", a project group assembled for a show called Idol Drama Operation Team. It featured Seulgi, Mamaamoo's Moonbyul, and girls from five other former or present groups! They only created one song, "Deep Blue Eyes", and it was only performed live two times on countdown shows.
Totally understandable how you feel about Wendy. It's a shame SM doesn't give her more songs, specifically RNB which she has talked about wanting to sing. I feel like not enough people know how well she can sing and how wide her range is. You can check out her 2nd album Wish You Hell if you want! It has some good tracks. but im still looking forward to a more RNB focused album in the future
Wendy has beautiful voice and heart......😢 your reaction = my reaction😂😂 >>>> "My (ReVe)luv is like water" (*ReVeluv is thier fandom name...) You should react to her double title track!!!! >>>> "Wendy's Rain Stops"
RE: Seulgi. The last part pronounced like KEY, if I"m not mistaken. The first part is close to "soul", but I could be wrong. That's the way a lot of English speakers are saying it, anyway. Thanks for your reaction. BTW, Selugi's whole album fire AF. It's worth a listen.
If you have time, it would be great if you could check out (G)I-DLE. They are a K-pop group that stands out for their unique and daring concepts (which are often centered about female empowerment). Soyeon (the main rapper of the group) writes and produces almost all their songs, which are all really different from one another and can't be sorted into a specific genre. Definetly worth a listen!

I still get teary eyed listening to Like Water... and it's 2025.
Timeless song from our Wendy 🩵
You should watch the stage of Irene & Seulgi- Naughty and Seulgi - Los Angeles. The tutting is insane
You should watch red velvet and aespa’s collaboration Beautiful Christmas. The vocals and visuals are chefs kiss
the “hello” music video is really special as it is celebrating the life and culture of jeju island, where joy is from!
Wow. This is gonna be good.
Aside from their solos, they do have a subunit stuff too that you may want to check out. Irene & Seulgi’s Monster and Naughty.
Yes.. this please..

Joy hello was insanely successful
Joy = angel

Would love a whole album reaction for Seulgi because the b-side slaps! Personally love Dead Man Runnin and Crown. Very villain-y concept.

Okay so you HAVE to listen Irene and Seulgi’s individual albums those b sides are CRAZY
18:41 you were like me reaction when this MV came out. I screenshot it anyway.
