You neglected to mention that the riffle is made using titanium alloys for all of its interior components. Also, the length and weight of the riffle were made with the average arms length and reach of the average mexican national. They also performed a survey to all military personnel on what color of material and even what kind of grip they were gonna use. They really made this riffle taking a lot of input from their military personnel.

Weird. Not sure I'd want my trigger group made of Titanium. Titanium is great at handling water, heat and abrasion, but it's also somewhat brittle. In things that are going to smack against each other a lot, S7 tool steel is better.

@@Enkabard sinaloa and durango part of mexico is the one of the calmest sections of mexico that’s why hell broke loose when they captured el chapos son, people were afraid a new cartel would step into the rather friendly cartel’s territory. the people in sinaloa and durango are accustomed to how things are. it’s basically as secure as cancun or los cabo. all the cartel business there’s is ran behind closed doors, and tourists can go out and enjoy themselves compared to border cartels or cartels who use ruthlessness to keep control and operate are hated by locals. the sinaloa cartel does it the other way they don’t mess with tourists or their locals and actually protect them and make them feel safe but they’re still a cartel with a lot of drug use influence that pours mostly into the us. i just hope cartels stop sending fentanyl to the us that’s the worst thing about all this and the ruthless cartels but don’t really have a system and go kidnap people and put them for ransom when there crappy organization needs money

It was mentioned early in the video. Well there were already many designs by then, it's more that Mexico was one of first nations to attempt to adopt a self loading rifle for its army (a 1907 design by general Mondragon and produced by Sig ).. And they officially did adopt it, though it was cancelled early on. Kinda like all other nations found out in the beginning, they realised it wasn't logical to try and field one in mass quantity (as it was very expensive and most of all the reliability aspect along with poor quality ammo at the time wasn't truly worked out yet in the Mondragon). In reality they put the cart in front of the horse

Xiuhcoatl, the fire serpent, was the weapon used by Huitzilopochtli (Nahuatl for "Lefty Hummingbird", because he always handled Xiuhcoatl with his left hand) to defeat his 400 brothers. The 400 bastards wanted to kill her mother Coatlicue (Mother Earth) before she could give birth to Huitlizopochtli but when they arrived at Coatepec (Snake Mountain) to fulfill their sinister plan it was already to late and Huitzilopochtli was born wearing full body armor, war paint on the face and with Xiuhcoatl fiercely blazing on his left hand. He defended his mother and terminated all 400 mofos right on the spot. And thus was born the God of War.

while both are very minimal in recoil, the G36 mitigates recoil more, so the overall recoil felt with the G36 is a bit lower than with the AR15 system.

In the early 80’s, El Salvador equipped their forces with the G3. The average recruit was about 16 years old and all of 5 feet tall. These guys were tough but they couldn’t reach the cocking handles on their G3s with the weapon shouldered. The good news was the plastic broke off the cocking handle, leaving a hole in the metal exposed. The hook on the H&K sling could be attached to this hole in the cocking handle instead of the sling attachment point. This allowed you to step on the sling and load the G3. The American advisors referred to this as “kick starting”.

Many years ago (maybe 2000?) my wife and I visited Mexico on a cruise, and when we stopped at Cabo San Lucas we were walking along the quay when we passed a small Mexican Marine patrol who were seriously armed for bear. One of the Marines was carrying what looked like an M16A2 with an underslung M203 grenade launcher! Since that was a weapons combo I had carried for a couple of years when I was in the US Army infantry, I dearly wanted to stop them to have a chat about their equipment. I gotta say that there’s a significant amount of difference accuracy speaking (G3 vs FX) , when i was in the infantry i had the chance to shoot both of them (2014 /2016) and the main problem with g3s is that they already have seen about 30 years of service and given the nature of Mexican "weapons maintenance doctrine" is not uncommon to train or see some pieces that have never seen any kind of barrel change or things like that, all of this over the actual fact that a 556 rifle is going to be more controllable in full auto than a 308 one. However, it is indeed a state-of-the-art weapon, and a reliable one to.

In that law it states that only the State or State-associated factories can make explosives and arms. So the moment Mexico decided to design their own gun, the FX-05 the government didn't decided to make to them solely by State means in order to prevent cartels have their hands on it, it was just the law that it must produced by them. As someone who got issued an AUG as a conscript over 20 years ago i don't really understand why you have to be very carefull because of the plastic. Our AUG's in austria have a lot of plastic and the ones we got back then, were as old as we were. (20 years old rigles for 18-19 year old conscripts) But the plastic stocks only problem was when using rifle grenades (which had been already abandoned by our army beacuse it could split the stock.) Even the Magazines were/are incredibly durable. (and made since the late 70's)
No matter if heat during summer, or freezing temps and ice in winter, the plastic was no issue here.
So i would be surprised if Mexico today would not make as good/tough plastic for the rifle as our companies did in the late 70's and early 80's. (Steyr and Glocks plastic i mean)

Looks like a legit beginning of a pretty innovative rifle. I love the AK system with the long stroke piston and have some really old ones that still work really well. My wife struggles with the recoil of the 7.62x39 and the 5.45 is getting tougher to get for obvious reasons. I'm GenX and always thought the AK was cool since I saw Red Dawn in Jr. High and as a history geek they are super fun to restore as a semiautomatic version. I did find an American company that makes an unbelievable AR that uses the 5.56 and has a long stroke piston, she really likes it as the recoil of the 5.56 is extremely low and easy to get. I would imagine that the Mexican military intelligently isn't going to start producing a civilian version anytime soon as the Cartels would likely snatch them all up. Much like the original AK47 was considered a vital classified item by the Soviets, the US wasn't even able to get any real information on it until 1958 and even then it's theorized that the Soviets allowed a flawed, badly produced AK to fall into Western hands as a ruse. I've been to Mexico quite a bit in my life and outside the border cities which are in obvious disarray on both sides of the border, places like Monterrey, La Ciudad, Vera Cruz, and Guadalajara Mexicans are very proud of their country and worry every bit as much and actually 1000 times more about the dangers posed to them by the Cartel drugs and violence.

09:56-10:20 Is something I really like about kit that comes from countries other than major powers or smaller companies developing projects on their own finances. There is so much more discipline and focus on what actually matters precisely because they don't have the money or resources to do anything else. It all gets done so much faster too because it's designed _once_ according to what actually works rather than being redesigned three or four times over a decade to fit a succession of colonel blimp's each with their own fantasy spec lists for the thing.

Mexico also uses the Para model FN FAL. Generally you will see Mexican Marines with them. A couple of years ago DSA was working on upgrading FAL for some Latin American countries and some evidence points to Mexico being one of those countries.

Beautiful gun. Pride of my country
The Fire Serpent was the weapon of Huitzilopochtli the Aztec god of war and he used it to defend his mother Coatlicue from his brothers the 400 Southerners and his sister Coyolxāuhqui who wanted to kill Coatlicue as they felt she dishonored them by getting pregnant once more
He was born fully armed and equipped he charged and turned the southerners into pretty much burnt sushi and Coyolxāuhqui into a jigsaw puzzle and her head into the moon
