- Heya friends, we're continuing with this series due to the constant requests and we take our war-hardened band of high level companions and family members(40+ strong!), and challenge foes in a narrow valley, somewhat similar perhaps to what the Spartans faced 2500 years ago against the Persians... How far can we push these 'Spartans' in Bannerlord? Soon we'll see!

What prompted this series?
I get asked a lot in my campaign just how strong a small army can be in Bannerlord. So in this episode we take a fantasy trip into another world and time, taking a small breather from my death-match campaign to explore the potential of how strong a hand-picked army of 300 men in Bannerlord can be. This series will show ever-increasingly difficult challenges as I wander the map with my own "Spartans", deploying elite troops into advanced tactics in search of Glory. With some 45 companions and family members, many who are over level 40, we shake our shields and howl our war cries as the enemy closes in.... Enjoy!
Our entire channel is dedicated to helping players improve their field command and if that's your desire, or just want to see huge, dramatic battles, you've come to the right place.

My campaign is an extremely late-game campaign where I am resolved to give no peace to these scum Kingdoms attacking me - seven of the eight have been at war for years, with only Sturgia at a neutral stance. My family of warriors is now large though and with what remaining strength and valor we can must, we stand against the map of Calradia.

For most of this "300" series, I use four mods:
Lord Retinue Uptier(Makes the enemy forces stronger, much less peasants and lower ranked troops)

Improved AI Troops(Also makes enemy lords and their armies tougher by giving them a higher daily xp rate. This means you'll routinely face armies with HUGE numbers of the highest tier units, sometimes four or five times the normal amount in vanilla Bannerlord): www.nexusmods....
Death for all: This mod allows you to set the rate at which nobles die more often. I want both a harder challenging late-game but also a more realistic game. If you're cut down with a massive aserai two-handed axe, you shouldn't just be injured 99.9% of the time. It's a very customizable mod so you can just a little more death or set the death rate so high you get several deaths every battle. The number I often like is '10', some deaths but not a massacre of nobles...

I also use the Dismemberment Plus Mod: It's highly customizable and works seamlessly with the new beta(and versions back to 1.28). I thoroughly recommend it if you enjoy carnage!:

I've also used Realistic Battle Mod in the past and highly recommend it for Ai and battle realism BUT I find the pace too slow for my taste and the AI is actually rather predictable after a half dozen battles. Still I wanted to put a plug in for it here, it's a GREAT mod and highly configurable. www.nexusmods....
Much of the music and inspiration for this and other videos in the channel are inspired by Epic History TV - probably THE best channel on youtube(and the internet for that matter) covering the Napoleonic wars. With amazing work Epic History TV takes you through the dramatic and incredibly story of Napoleon covering all of his most famous battles. I HIGHLY recommend it.

That was a great battle, the first attempt you were too aggressive with your troops hence the getting "swamped" (excuse the poorly timed pun). You adapted superbly and that victory was an absolute massacre. Kudos man, awesome job. :)

It's actually an older Mic that I'm unsure if I'm going to continue to use but I appreciate the feedback and it helps me try to hone in on what you guys would prefer. I may have to run an entire test episode using three or four mics just to see what you guys like.

Your first video I got reccomended from you was this one th-cam.com/video/TMUtv8saxdw/w-d-xo.html and the audio is barely tollerable, sorry. If the content wasn't nearly as lit as it is I would have stopped after 3 seconds cause it feels like tearing paper inside my ears. Watched it with really low volume. But what I saw was so cool! And as you see you got a new fan here.
Also in that vid you mentioned that you were a firefighter once and I thought that maybe you try to go for that classic old radio/military/police/trucker style distortion, which might be a valid reason to keep your audio like/close to this bc it makes your videos unique and appeals to a certain kind of nostalgia feeling. That is why I did not comment it on that video. But with you appreciating criticism, I would highly reccomend to experiment with some audio software too. Taking that audio line, run some compression over it. But ye, that is nothing super easy and will take some time to figure out what works out for you and your community.
I hope you find a production strategy you enjoy, bc I will keep enjoying your vids anyway as the visual content makes up kind of all audio issues for me!
Edit: And I guess even if the vid + audio is super fine on your machine, youtube will still find a way to f*** with it during the upload anyway xDD

Beautiful, you could have won I noticed it before you said it but yes you needed to push forward, that's a big part morale is high you've taken care of the cav get on the shore and build better positioning, watching the second battle now

I get this request a lot and the more I put a little slash next to it on the notes I have in front of me the more likely it is I do a realm of throwing mods someday. It sounds like a really cool mod with a huge amount of space to explore but with another campaign starting soon and a lot of people eager to watch it may be a little while before I do realm of thrones...

Man, this is extremely impressive content. Would love to see you taking this into Bannerlord Online mod and proving these tactics against live opponents.
I watched a 15 minute video on it and it sounds pretty grindy to develop a large enough army to challenge other players that have been grinding for a while. Is there a good video that shows this kind of PvP? I'd love to do 500 vs. 500 using the custom battle menu...
@@HeadlessHorsemanProductions I would expect that you’d be able to grind much quicker than others though via tactical advantage? ;) Honestly I did not try online yet for myself, but seeing how the Bannerlord AI has nothing surprising to offer anymore for the tactics developed, I think it would be really cool to see the battle dance with real opponents.
Also I would be surprised if anyone in online expects a perfectly pulled killbox, just imagine the surprise.

I want a version of this for PvP. I wanna lead my army as I play against someone leading theirs. And give us a WoW/GTA open map where you can join clans etc but it’s all realistic difficulty so your character can die all the time lol
We can keep dreaming. It's possible tell worlds will do it but it's probably more likely that modern is will eventually open up something like the custom battle mod for rvr
Whats the name of your two handed weapon? Should i found it on smithing? Or available on trade?
I think the difference in 400 men would have made this a closer battle as well for the 2nd one if it was 3200-3300 like the first battle. I would still root you on from the sidelines.
Probably right. Against such massive odds, a small edge might make the difference. Still, I won't cry foul, I was thrilled to turn this into victory(with some bad AI)
