I just received my copy of the figure, which I love so far. Skids was always one of my favorite characters from when I was a kid. He got way to little love from the cartoon but at least had a decent story line in the North American comic. He was one of my very favorite transformer toys as a kid and I think x-transbots have done an amazing job bringing him to us. The alt mode is spot on, and other then a small issue with his shoulders, the bot mode is awesome. Thanks for the review, I always enjoy them.
Great show @benscollectables! I wonder why would fans would say the headsculpt is the weakest point when the figure is made to look like the cartoon (original 1980s we grew up with) & it does exactly that. I like him its a spitting image of 1985 animated Skids! Big boots head and all!
His alt mode was designed after a Honda City Turbo, which came with a Honda Motocompo folding trunk bike. These vehicles were not found in North America and I believe sort of the predecessor of the Smart car.
@@Loveportorchard , the original Skids toy and Diaclone were based on a Honda City Turbo. The Diaclone came with a toy version of the Honda Motocompo folding trunk bike that came with the original vehicle. It was found in some European and Asian countries in the '80's. It was sort of the predecessor to the Smart car. Funny little vehicle.
It's not a Honda City Turbo! It should be, but XTB changed the bonnet, so it's just a Honda City now. I returned mine. Every time I looked at it I just saw a flat bonnet and was thinking "why did they change it?"
Probably because the Diaclone toy was a Honda City R which was used for Crosscut. There's very little difference between them. This figure was originally released in 1982 as well (Diaclone one that is). If you want to know what was changed between the two, it was just the head and the original toy was a City E.
This man is a scammer. I work for a family owned online toy store. We made a deal with him and we sent him some products, then after receiving the products he just vanished. Very bad practice of this man. He is not even close to the good person he seems to be in his videos.
That windshield untabbing was a real pain in the rear. Aside from that, it looks great!

I love this figure. That paint job is amazing!
I can't wait to get this, Skids is my second favourite Autobot.
See, now that's how Skids is supposed to look! It's like Diaclone done right.
By the way, if you get the Crosscut repaint/ remold could you show it off with Road Rage if you got her? Or at least Tracks?
I like the silver version and I love the car mode but I don't like the robot enough to buy it twice. I barely bought it once.
5:57 Verne troyer playing chip chase
Can't wait to get him and Crosscut.
I'd like to see Screetch myself, Peaugh would probably be all over it.

Xtb on a roll lately, may have to grab this guy.
This was so much better than the new mp
Can't wait for the Crosscut retool.
What Prime is that at the end? He’s so chrome-y
Looks to me like an MP-10, albeit a very shiny one.
Never seen an MP10 with a Chrome mouth guard before! Neither the Takara nor Hasbro have that, so I wonder if it’s a 4th party version?
MP-10x
I don't remember him having this alt mode. In the US-comics, he was a minivan.
The original G1 toy was almost exactly this.
@@EungsuLee Thanks, I didn't know that.

No probs!
Gonna need oversized to replace my alternator
Nice review bruv, keep it up mate!
Looks more like a hatchback than a mini van. Although I was never sure what he was meant to be.

Skids was a hot hatch, if he was updated I think he'd be a Volkswagen gti

I will never lose my virginity

@Daniel Woytowich Nah, after ghosting for a while he just took took an awful time to make the video. But you know, too little too late.
