I was actually a competitor in this event, being one of the 4 losses of Affan Salman overall! It was an amazing event, with me getting a highest game of 560ish and coming out 12-12.
the editing in this video of the tiles moving around during different possible moves is really nice. it's just super clean and never distracting. really nice work.
Ahhh. I actually faced Adheesha in rd 16 (Xuan Lei here, SG01 overall 9th place), I can’t tell you how scary it was. His time management is crazy good, lost to him about 430-470 with a singular second left on his clock😂😂😂 Definitely looking forward to play him again in my second wysc next year🇸🇬
Brilliant game, and the new graphics are subtle and really good! I didn't even notice the progress bar I suppose you could call it, at first, but I was instantly thankful when I did. I'm not good at bag management even when I have one in my hands :P It will help me follow the games in your future videos, cheers Will!
Great choice of players and tournament to highlight. The only surprising thing was, from the video clips at the end, seeing that they are actually teenagers rather than tiny tykes as they look in their pics :D well played both!
Coming from someone who beat Adheesha, he is crazy good. The only player I played in the whole tournament who I came away from thinking that I didn't know anything. Came out with a win by sheer luck and felt like he was outplaying me.
the analysis and storytelling prowess in these videos is just incredible. that endgame was amazing, only made better by the perfectly paced commentary.
Every time I start to feel like I know English, TH-cam recommends me another Scrabble video :) Jokes aside, I always look forward to your uploads. I've played the Swedish equivalent of Scrabble with my friends many times, but we're nowhere near this level in any language.
I participated in this event and I played Affan Salman, of course I lost to him, but I had a good tournament winning 14 games. anyways amazing vid as always!
I like to imagine that the act of striking the ground with a golf club was so important that not one, but two different words were needed to convey this act.
Are they running on the US English scrabble dictionary? If so, they're using pretty much every unusual word in the book. I've never had so many "...is that a word?" moments when watching a scrabble game before!
Adheesha's hunt for the blank got me thinking, even though it's the most valuable tile in scrabble you wouldn't want a rack of 7 blanks since they would net you 0 points. If I had to choose one letter to have 7 copies of I would choose Z since ZZZ is valid. I'm not exaggerating when I say this Will, but you are kind of the Charlie Chaplin of Geoguessr.

thats awesome!!! glad it was a good event. good luck in your future endeavors!
ashwin?
@@MESOCARP were you one of the Pakistani players?

3:00 Everyone’s favorite cry of Bacchic frenzy! :D
Alas waifu isn't valid just yet

As a person who is barely into scrabble I wanted to say that editing recently is amazing! Smooth and easy to follow, thanks for your effort!
0:16 Madhav was my classmate in like 4th grade LMAO didnt expect him to see him here
This game was one for the books. Thanks for covering WYSC Will!

I love your editing skills
Thanks for expanding scrabble on youtube!
I appreciate you adding word definitions, but please add for the overlaps too! For example at 1:19, what is "fy"?
Excellent game. Looking forward to see what these two can do in a few years!

Joel Sherman vs Nigel Richards finale youth edition
Also Will, your editing improves every video!

nah that last rabatins move was a jumpscare 😭😭
Astounding play from these young bloods. I’m so happy for the future of this game! (:
These kids are so smart and have such good word knowledge. I'm impressed.
I was a competitor in the event, in the first game adheesha played sudated, the championship was actually free challenge so there eas no +5
Their words are so very cromulent for their young age.
*uses “cromulent” to seem smart*, *prefaces it with “very”* 😂
Man, my motivation is embiggened by their incredible feats
Impressive skills and insightful commentary- thanks for sharing 👏👏
This is not really related to the video, but there's an error in the definition of ANODISE at 1:32
I like to imagine that the act of striking the ground with a golf club was so important that not one, but two different words were needed to convey this act.
just blurred it out, should be fixed when YT processes it. good catch
Very impressive this is the very highest level of scrabble
man your videos make me so happy, keep it up
Damn that was actually high level play , sicckkk
Will
Please cover many more games in this format. They are, by far, the most watchable yt vidd, on a phone. Others are too small.
Thanks.
Great analysis!
Let's go Adheesha!!!
damn the quality of players has gone up considerably from when i played my 4 WYSC's (best placement 7th)

I don't know for sure, but I would assume that they are using the Collins (CSW) lexicon
They’re not.
this is just like that one nigel vid where (i forgot name) has to beat either joel or nigel 3 times in a row
Could U do live stream of WYSC Woogles event on 12 October
First Tekken and now Scrabble? What's Pakistan gonna take over next? Fair play to them; passion has zero boundaries.
i missed my chance to join there after losing 7 games in a row in the national qualifier 😅 (6-0 to 7-7 lmao)
Too many Collins only words, my brain can't handle
There isn't any challenge penalty for WYSC
Oops! At least they both challenged a word once, so the final margin is correct even though I wrongly added 5 points to each player
Fair for each
hm, i don’t think ANODISE means to strike the ground with a golf club…
excellent video regardless though :)))
good catch, I'll blur that out
please make another one
nice video

I participated in this event
I thought he said quagmire from family guy
Oh.
hamburger
I will never not find it funny how much people from the west mispronounce Pakistan and pakistani names.
I'm trying to get good as well in scrabble, it would be a lot of fun if I could play with you.
You can find plenty of strong opponents on woogles
small error, but you have the definition for Baff instead of Anodise at 1:35
I always miss something :( going to blur it out, thank you
2:20 why did you not define harem 💀
2:20 +34, oopsies
0:59 isn't it free challenge?
