That was a gnarly crash. I have a Swampmaster and it's really weird with a 71 degree head angle. I am going to see if I can do a 2 degree angle set and get it at 73 to see if it rides better and more like an actually BMX trail bike.
I would really like to see Blake check out a WTP Chaos Machine, 20" or 22". I honestly think he'd be more comfortable on one of those at the jumps than the Swamp Master.
Awesome you put out more advanced and interesting content, you'd love to see more . I watched a Sam P video with Blake absolutely shredding whistler and loved it. Get niel ripping DH too
I think that a bare bones BMX would have wiped the floor with these bikes. A small hard body shoots into the air in my experience. People were doing all these jumps on those bikes before there was the concept of an MTB.
Let's see a bare bones BMX do the jump Tomas Lemoine did at Whistler Joyride. BMX have done plenty of big jumps. I've seen videos. But no way one makes it through an entire Crankworx tour without breaking the frame or the rider.
@@dvs620 most high end BMX frames are built to at least the same quality, if not higher than any DJ I've seen for the last 25 years. There are guys taking huge drops to flat on a BMX that I don't see any MTB riders doing still. I think the biggest thing keeping a BMX from riding courses like that is not being able to get the needed speed for clearing the gaps, especially if things gets a bit torn up.
GMBN, with all due respect, pay the man (Blake)! He tried (in my view) to show example! Even respecting those more far-advanced; and even appealed to beginners like me (mtb since dec2023, CannondaleTrail7 to start (Trail5warrantyReplacement to now Specialized Fuse stock)! MTB dirtJumper ftw! SafetyFirst! I already know Blake is highly-Capable of all-around skillset!
That BMX is truly a freak design!!!! Crazy but crazy cool!! If that BMX came out 15 years ago I dont think I would have went with buying a dirt jumper instead of a new BMX. I feel like I would have picked the BMX. I always wondered what a BMX with 100mm travel fork would be like. Full suspension is a next level crazy Idea!!!
I’ve been following fingers crossed and the Swampmaster since their inception and finally seen someone hit some proper jump trails on it. Wish fingers crossed got their bike to market
@@DaveWasThereMan the issue there is that BMX has moved up to 2.1" being one off the smallest tire sizes readily available, and most riders running 2.3-2.5" tires these days. ISO 451 has pretty small tires by comparison. Most of the 22", and even 24" bikes look just fine. They don't handle as fast or spin as well though, which are generally favorable traits in the BMX world. They do handle flowing through jumps, transition (ramps), and pump tracksn just fine though.
Well done, bring it to a bmx track after a rain, or when the bmx track isn't dialed. As a track operator in the states riders nearly demand a dialed track for small wheels zero suspension. Sooo bmx would have a market with a rougher track that bikes can ride on. Kinda like 4 cross style
I am with Blake, small bikes big consequences. BMX'S are tonnes of fun but if you don't concentrate or you're slightly off riding it, you're going to feel it. Dirt jumpers definitely have more stability.
I and every bmxer I know have been able to hop on a mountain bike and very quickly get used to jumping one. The only scenario I can see the swampmaster being better suited to is if you want to ride loose dirt, steep downhill jump trails and do turndowns and lookbacks, which look hideous when attempted on mountain bikes. It would be interesting to try it with normal size bmx tires on it though. I think specing those huge tires on it is a mistake.
The steep angle of top tube on DJs looks painful close to one’s wedding tackle... Also my butt always touches the back tyre when compressing. Wouldn’t bother with the SM .. Their 22” chaos machine bmx would be a appropriate comparison 👈🏻
15 to 20 years ago i snapped a ligament in my hand wrist area. Today my bones have spread apart and requires surgery. When they are done with surgery, there will be 3 less bones and my hand will be a centimeter shorter. Moral of story, have your wrist looked at, while they can fix it, normally.
I have bmx and my my entire life that bike is not heavy my s&m war pig weighed 50 pounds the only problem I had with a mb was I'm so short it's hard to find a frame that fits
Not sure what this BMX is trying to be. I dont see the point in it being full suspension, it would make more sense to have an even slacker HA, stick with the 100mm travel fork, and put proper 10" x 30" bars on it which are common man sized bars these days and make an enormous difference in bike feel. The setup on this thing makes me think they are going more for the novelty of extra crap rather than tying it to a specific use. The rear Suspension and front brake not being through the stem makes me think they actually intended this to be a trail bike, which with 20 inch wheels wouldnt be any better than a regular BMX bike on the trails, 20 inch wheels just dont deal with real roots and large rocks at all no matter how much suspension you've got. As for making it just a more capable Dirt Jump BMX, the front fork might be somewhat useful on really big and rougher jumps, like if the dirt isnt very good and full of pebbles on the run ups. Realistically, if you look up S&M bikes you'd see theres a long legacy of BMX Dirt without suspension hitting huge jumps really really high, some of those older videos still dont even seem real, its crazy how big good Dirt BMXers go.
After riding mtbs for a few years now i wanted to get back on my bmx for a bit of something different but found it way to twitchy so i bought a jump bike. Way more stable and predictable than the bmx.
Which of these two would you like to try out at the Dirt Jumps? The regular DJ bike or the Full Sus BMX?
I've never heard of a full sus BMX, so I would definitely give that a go! Also, love the content ❤
None, I'm crap at jumps 😂. Great to see Blake doing tho. 👏👏
take the full sus bmx to Sedona, Arizona, or Moab, Utah to ride some of the blue trails there.
I'd stick with the DJ, but would still like to give the Swampmaster a go.
@mellissanash7517 a buddy of mine has ridden his at sedona bike park and pretty much everywhere else in az
Blake + Dirt Jumping = The DREAM. Would love to see some DJ Trick Tutorials with Blake
Yes more jumping please.
He has a few on here

After growing up watching Blake ride dirt jumps it hurt hearing him say he barely rides them anymore haha
22” might be the way to go. Park, pegs, dirt jumps - would love to see Blake on the new Chaos Machine!

I thought I recognised those jumps. The Hollow Trails in Yeovil, great spot.
Cheers fella. Came looking for this
Last rode there 20 years ago, changed a fair bit since then!
More Dirt jumps content please, that is 🔥🔥
Great stuff Blake , entertaining and inspiring. Making it look too easy !!!

Bmx should abandon 406mm and adopt the 451mm standard. The slightly bigger size is perfect for adult bikes, 22" bmx look goofy, however.

good to see max at the hollow as always!
in the name of science Blake, take it to the alps, Whistler and Bike Park Wales🤙🏾

With that suspension design the shock is going to wear extremely fast and there will be quite a lot of flex

How the suspension of the bmw can work without a chain tensioner ?

What bike is that 26” one if I can have the name and everything would be much appreciated defo buying that thing 💯
imagine being on session and blake just shows up ready to shred that little ripper.
The Swampmaster is named after the annual Florida Swampfest BMX festival. It's half meant as a joke but still well speced.
cool vid, looks like you need to change the chainring/sprocket to get higher speeds.
