This episode has one of my all time most underrated lines "Find the real killer, Nigga I'm 10" lol. It's so funny to me because with the way he acts you sometimes can forget Huey is only 10 years old
The "unknown unknowns" line was from a Donald Rumsfeld speech. While it makes some sense, this episode was amazing at mocking the way that line of thinking was used to justify bad policy.
Stuff like that is a seriously scary slippery slope when talking about government policy. That's a few steps away from the Inquisition motto of Warhammer 40K: "Innocence proves nothing." And that's meant to be hyperbolic to an extreme.
The “Korean store” was a reference to North Korea openly posturing / threatening “the west” and largely being ignored while the false narrative of WMD’s in Iraq was happening.
Now that I'm older I can see that connection, but when I saw this episode back in highschool I assumed they were referencing the "Roof Koreans" of the L.A riots
The crew also didnt notice the two pictures at the end were different way different making satire that people think certain people look the same when they don't and many times get locked up for such reasons.@@brendaspence1824
Born slightly before 9/11, found this show on Netflix, and neither did I lol. UNTIL I got older and learned about all the terrible things the Bush Administration did; then I recalled this episode and watched it again and understood the political satire.
@@lightforce4604 if you weren’t politically-active when you watched this, it would make sense that you wouldn’t know what Saddam looks like. I was personally a child when I watched this
Rana's reaction is genuinely the funniest because everyone is laughing like its a comedy but its like she's watching a horror movie😂😂😂😂 look on her face when Ed robs the dudes chain. Shock and terror😂😂😂😂
@@thermologo3451 I wasn't saying all that. She reacts that ways in the other episodes too. I just think this isn't her type of humor so the shit they saying in the show is surprising her. The specific example I brought up in my comment had no arabs in the scene
@@thermologo3451 Yeah, they all kinda got shocked when the joke was more personal. Shows that people who laugh at such things like south park get mad when its satire of them. The purpose of the joke was its satire of real life. I also noticed the crew including the guys all said tom looked just like the picture...whoosh am I missing something. I assumed the point was the guy was entirely different besides basic features of being another black guy...and makes fun of the fact people push the idea that black people look the same and end up arresting the wrong people all the time cause all that matters is one is caught not who did it. Sad. They were more concerned about that one joke and when the dudes were traumatizing huey and riely, little kids ehh all laughs lol. Also if Tom was a woman all things the same...maybe sent to a men jail for some reason...people would be horrified.. R is bad no matter what.
Love the part where you talked about Iraq, that warmed my heart tbh, most people either avoid it or are completely ignorant about the fact, you guys are really educated and that shows.
The Korean store is a reference to both Bush labeling North Korea in his "axis of evil" and likely a nod to the LA riots where Korean store owners took up arms to defend their businesses.
This is my favorite Normies reaction series since the Lost reactions ended. You guys are the MVPs!! I hope more reactors take this show up, it’s amazing.
14:00 The rapid fire succession of Marketa, Spidey and Rana looking over at Navi as she scrolls back to the penis part as she quickly tries to downplay it was quite the moment.
Only NOW after watching this reaction to do I finally get this episode lol, I feel so slow because I've seen the episode at least 3 times in the past... the robbing the GAS STATION and saying THEY HAVE A GUN when they don't is just like invading Iraq and saying they have Nuclear Weapons, they were even looking for a killer like Hussain and diverting their goals heavily lol, this episode is pure genius
I am the stone that the builder refused I am the visual, the inspiration That made Lady sing the blues I'm the spark that makes your idea bright The same spark that lights the dark So that you can know your left from your right I am the ballot in your box, the bullet in the gun The inner glow that lets you know to call your brother son The story that just begun, the promise of what's to come And I'mma remain a soldier till the war is won
13:33 support for the Iraq War was actually remarkably high immediately prior to the invasion. About 66/26 for/against. Strong majority even thought Saddam was behind 9/11. It didn’t take too long for those numbers to mellow out a bit but they were insanely high.
Yeah Ed Wuncler the third and gin rummy are based on george w. bush and donald rumsfeld due to their friendship. But yeah Charlie and Sam were perfect for the roles

The combination of social commentary , portrayal of social ignorance and comedy is what makes this show amazing
Wow, you’re so articulate! Where did you learn those big words?

When I first watched this when I was young, the parallels between the Iraq War and the Gas Station went completely over my head.
Definitely. Are history teacher showed us this episode
This episode went from alright to the one of the funniest as I grew up lmao
Chris mentioned the booty warrior... We're a long ways off from that. lol
Love how he saved it

“Nothin” 😏
Absolutely can't wait for that one. Booty Warrior, Catcher Freeman, and The Hateocracy are my all-time top 3. Homies over Hoes is pretty funny too.
