I'm sick of stuck up people who hate minivans. I currently have the Town and Country and love it. I have 3 kids and a small dog. It suits our needs. We rented a Pacifica on vacation and now I can't wait to upgrade to the Pacifica. I definitely will consider the Limited. Nothing beats that storage space when the middle seats are upright. I hide all my kids junk under the floor and no one sees it or steps on it. This van is the bomb.

I don't like minivans because the ones sold here are ANCIENT compared to the ones in Germany or the UK. Their minivans have standard equipment lists that look like this: diesel engine that gets over 35 mpg optional shower full sink and fridge pop-up ceiling power curtains on side windows rear bench seat that converts into a bed and a lot of them have a standard POWER awning over the side door. Name ONE van Chrysler, Ford, GM, Honda or Toyota have offered in the last 15 years with that option... NONE of the Big 3 have ever offered a minivan with that equipment in a single package as a standard production model. I'd rather get a Volkswagen California since it has all of those features. Sadly, VW will never import it even though it's been around for nearly a decade.

Oh my God we just purchased the 2017 version and it's completely beautiful my wife loves it. It's a luxury minivan to say the least. The cinema experience makes our kids feel like their royalty. We have HDMI ports on the rear screens though. Screens are also individual as well ps4 on one screen and movie on the other. Vacuum is on the left side of the passenger seat. The drive is awesome handles great a lot to learn though, auto connects to my phone, Overall 10 out of 10.
NO way. The VW California (which you can't even get in the US!) has a convertible bed with fridge and sink as standard equipment inside. And even most embarrassing: it has a pop-top that adds 4 feet of standup space but when retracted, is almost impossible to detect. That van has been around for over a decade. The US may have invented the minivan but the Germans crushed us ages ago in practicality and features. Whenever Europeans see our Class B motorhomes and vans, they laugh their asses off because we're always 5-10 years behind the times in design. Look at videos of European RV/custom van shows. Even last year's models displayed are light years ahead of us.
largol33t1 ... The California is a commercial van. Not a minivan. The Pacifica still leads the minivan market in styling, interior comfort, performance, and handling.

It's the same keyless ignition that FCA has been installing on just about everything after the disaster that was the FOBIK keys Mopar used under Mercedes ownership. It's a button under the right side of the steering column. Hold the brake and press it to start, press it to stop. When it's off and without pressing the brake pedal, press it once for accessory, twice for run (without starting), third time to cycle back to off. You also have to press the ignition button before you can shift from Park if you used remote start. One other feature he didn't mention - automatic parking break. The parking brake is electronically controlled (and can be fully retracted for service without the use of separate tools - it's a button inside the Uconnect settings menu). You can set the brake to automatically deploy when the van is placed in park. It will stay deployed until the transmission is shifted into any movement gear (reverse, drive, or low) AND you apply throttle. Unintended rollback (what killed the actor Anton Yelchin in his Jeep) is virtually impossible.
@@bfurth Thanks very much. I have just bought a 2017 Pacifica Touring L to replace my rusty 2004 Caravan. So far I like it very much. I found out that no Caravan has a keyless ignition, which is something I really wanted. I think I made the right choice, and now I want to look at the automatic parking brake. I will be seeing the sales guy soon and will ask him to show me how it works. (I wouldn't like to be crushed by a rollback.)
DON'T BUY A PACIFICA! If I can save one person from getting stuck with one of these my time is worth it. A warning to prospective buyers: I bought a 2018 Chrysler Pacifica with only 11,500 MI back in May. Since I purchased it the start-stop feature stopped working and the whole car just died at a stop. Got that battery replaced and automatic start stop still didn't work. Then a couple of months later I was driving on the freeway and the car started to stall and I couldn't control it as well. It had a warning alarm going off to service the power steering. I had the car fixed for that and then 2 weeks later I had the SAME problem plus like five other error codes such as service shifter, break not available, service electronic stability control etc. It won't drive. All Kia dealerships in my area are always backed up at least a week for service appointments (because they have so many problems) Most people don't have rental coverage and if they do they will not give you a rental until your appointment date so you do not have a car for over a week unless you are going to come out of pocket to rent one. I went on Chrysler Pacifica forums and saw all these problems people have with them such as not being able to turn off cruise control AT ALL when they are on the freeway and it even accelerating on its own or the car doing automatic emergency braking on it's own without cause on the freeway jeopardizing people's lives. So many complaints to the NHTSA. I'm considering selling the car now to CarMax and buying a different brand van. What's a shame is someone else is going to be stuck with this potentially unsafe and DEFINITELY unreliable car. I'm outside the California lemon law limits of 18 months or 18,000 miles so I can't go that route. This is just a huge headache! Save yourselves.
The parking brake button is horribly located and badly designed, it is easy to accidentally touch it, while changing the air flow or changing stations, I did it a few times when driving on the highway and the car shucked dangerously , the only way to avoid touching the parking brake button is to tape a piece of hard plastic on top of it. The other issue is the headrest: it is curved inward, when you drive long distance (5+ hours) your neck will start to hurt. I wrote to Chrysler about these issues, but just one voice will not make them change these flaws. I think the parking break location is a dangerous flaw not just its location but the fact that it is push button and not a small pull latch similar to those in buick and infinity, in those cars you pull the small latch up to apply the parking brake.
