Note:
I decided to start working on this arrangement because It was a great challenge. When you listen to the chorus of the original song, you can hear the main riff (recorded by Steve Lukather) sounding together with the Michael's vocal melody and, of course, drums, bass and other instruments. My objective was to play all of this parts together: the main riff, the vocal melody and the percussion part. I had to find the proper tuning and make good use of the harmonics but in the end I got it. The tapping part is to remark on the great solo that Eddie Van Halen recorded for this song.

as a bassist I just love to see how guitarists can use some of ''our'' techniques to create some magic. This was unbelievable my dad plays acoustic guitar and he recently got into this percussive style of playing and I love how I can teach him slap techniques. rlly well done keep it up!

These days there are quite a number of finger style guitarists who are undoubtedly superb and brilliant. But after watching this work by Miguel Rivera, I will rank him as best of the best among all finger style guitarists in the world. I am not saying this from a blank head or zero musical background. I am an amateur guitarist playing guitar for last 30 years and I have some knowledge of music as well. Moreover, I am a TH-cam addict watching music videos every single day. I can say this piece of work is the finest, most difficult, and the most brilliant among all finger style guitar works esp. among all "Beat it"s found on the TH-cam played by other guitarists.
Also big big congrats to Mr F. Ryll who managed to capture the playing of Miguel in the most brilliant way covering all necessary and timely angles of camera during filming this video. Also he deserves credit for ensuring the awesome sound quality, effect and editing this video.
To me, this video is among one of the most wonderful gifts for the viewers of and to the music world. Hats off to both Miguel Rivera and F. Ryll.

I saw this the first time on a MSN link and as an amateur guitar player myself, I thought that this was incredible. I can honestly say that the lead, bass and rhythm all at the same time really takes some doing, not to mention a lot of finger dexterity and a massive helping of concentration.

Tío este vídeo se sale, dominas los armónicos, el "tapping", la percusión... Además es un arreglo muy completo, pero no suena sobrecargado para nada. Es un orgullo tener a un español tocando "fingerstyle" en TH-cam y encima a este nivel. Me da un poco de pena que el sonido no sea en directo, pero mira, me haz sorprendido tío y eso es lo que cuenta. Muchos tocan con mucha técnica y al final lo único que tienes es un tío que te toca lo que sea (casi como una maquina) y es como: "vale... y ahora que". No caigas en eso, trata de ser original, haz lo que los demás no hacen, trata con cariño la guitarra, y te abrirás un hueco hermano; lo tienes todo.

You're clearly as skilled as it gets. I've just started to learn to add percussion beat when I play what I play. I've also start to learn how SRV plays. I forget what you call it but to basically strum many strings along with what your playing to make it sound like you've got a bassist and seconds guitarist along with you playing alone

Why the eff is there is there almost 500 dislikes on this video, this guy is just playing the guitar and covering a song in a super creative and amazingly talented way and not offending anyone in the process and for some reason there are people that threw a dislike before leaving the video?
