    Phenomenal views at Derwent Edge so look forward to them myself - I went to Mam Tor just before the Pandemic & got truly stunning views up there so Windy had a protein bar and the wrapper flew off. Very beautifully filmed of the moors and those great views are therapeutic for me.

    HI Guys great viewing again. Mam tor is the only place in Peak I have expreienced a Cloud Inversion I distinctly remember Hope Cement Chimney sticking thro. I guessed straightaway what you were hoping to see. I've seen a really good one from the top of Tryfan too. I once witnessed the Air ambulance land right on top of Mamtor an old fella in our walking group suffered what turned out to be a mild heart attack I can remember watching the helicopter approach from miles away below our altitude then climb up it was a crystal clear day that time. We are surrounded by moors here but with sea cliffs rather than gritstone edges. My personal favourite is the Gritstone moors too and your'e right that is one of the very best Peak Vistas. well done Can't wait to see your next output they are getting better all the time.

    It’s high time I posted a comment on your channel guys as I’ve watched most of your vids now and I have to say they are bloody brill! Your vids are extremely well made, and your editing is just sublime. The BBC are missing a trick by not employing you both! 😃 Glad you liked your walk up to Derwent Edge. I agree that some of the best views are from up there. In answer to the question you raised Kyle, I personally love the Peak District because it is so varied, so I enjoy the bleak moors, the limestone dales, the pretty villages themselves... all these ingredients combined just make the area what it is. Great vid as always Hay and Kyle, keep up the good work! Have a great week 👍

    Beautiful. Pity about Mam Tor but I've had a few of them. Dan Cunningham got a beautiful inversion. Your views from the edge were beautiful but have you tried Win Hill? You see both sides of Ladybower Reservoir and also Mam Tor and the great ridge. Great vlog, thanks for sharing. As for my favourite I'd say Heather and Moors with a good Trig Point in the middle. Back Tor Lost Lad area maybe. I get what you mean about The Peak District looking small. It isn't until I hiked more Ethels I was able to connect the dots.

    Went there back in August last year. Great walk, but a bit long to get to Back Tor. Forgot the dog's food so didn't camp. Bust my knee on the way down, but have a hospital appointment next week. It's not like I'd have got out to the peaks after October, but otherwise a bit of a pain. Our dog is so keen to get back out

    Beautiful video. Now I have a serious question, which comes from the fact that we don't have moors in Canada (I don't think?) and there are trees everywhere I've ever hiked. There you are, out on a landscape where you can be seen for miles, and you've been hiking for hours, and you've had your tea, and now you have to pee. Seriously, there isn't even a shrub to squat behind. Not much of a problem for men, but certainly one for women. Do you have to hold it until your eyes turn yellow? Or what?

    • @HayandKyle
      @HayandKyle  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Patricia, this made us giggle 😅 It's true what you say. You'd be surprised though how a strategically placed lump of gritstone can still get the job done, providing of course you know which way the wind is blowing 🤭

  • @bcegerton
    @bcegerton ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I’ve known a few people recently that have photographed a cloud inversion not a million miles away from Mam Tor, looking down over Winnats Pass.
    Can I ask if you know the easiest way up to Derwent Edge for someone with mobility issues that can do maybe up to 4 miles round trip at a slow pace but doesn’t do well with steep inclines of any length?

    • @HayandKyle
      @HayandKyle  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Brain, it's certainly the season for it again, we just need to get lucky and watch the weather more closely, we'll catch one :) Thanks so much for watching our videos, we appreciate your support

    • @HayandKyle
      @HayandKyle  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Regarding Derwent Edge accessibility, Kyle's knee isn't too great and also suffers the same issue. We chose to head up the route we did in the video as it appears to be the least of an incline both up and down. This wasn't a circular however, but just a trip out to the Salt Cellar and back down the same route. With walking poles, Kyle was alright

    • @bcegerton
      @bcegerton ปีที่แล้ว

      @@HayandKyle I use a walking stick so poles aren’t much good, I may try one though as my wife was just given one, I think she kept it but they’re cheap enough for budget ones anyway. Thanks for the advice, I’ll have to rewatch to get a better idea and try and mark the route out, I’m not much good with map reading these days, not like when I was hiking basically all the walks you do like kinder etc back around 35 years ago when my kegs were solid. To give you an idea I was diagnosed with kidney disease at 2 1/2 months old and started dialysis at 14, now though after years of dialysis, 4 Kidney Transplants, 34 years of Steroids and the fact kidney failure can affect your bones anyway my legs aren’t what they were to put it mildly. I love watching landscape photography videos watching the views from up mountains but also hate them at the same time, knowing those days are long gone but hey, I’m still here where many I’ve known and loved are not.
