Smith brings hope to every person who thinks that they are over the hill. At 83 she is lucid, thoughtful and articulate.

@rr7firefly Thank you for your comment. She is quite an inspiration, certainly. Best wishes from the state of Virginia, Andrea S.

Fantastic work and it’s telling truth. She breaks open the voices of all people. This work is food for thought

I'm so happy the anchor acknowledged Jaune's use of the word "WE", as she truly is the strongest advocate for Contemporary Native American Artists all across the country.

So happy to see JQTSS finally get the attention of the mainstream art world & major art/cultural institutions. She's worked tirelessly and selflessly for 50+ years to support and promote her Native sisters & brothers in art. Looking forward to seeing the show and her curated show later this year at the NGA in DC! KUDOS JQ!!!!

Kansas city schools have said they are going to start teaching the Cherokee Indian language. Cherokee was one of the main tribes in the Missouri, Kansas and Oklahoma areas. I love that they are offering this to students💙👏

It definitely time for Native voices to be heard. The artist is spot on with her comments and the reasons why.

I was literally in those same galleries after your piece on the Edward Hopper exhibit to see his work. Good for Jaune being the first Native artist at the Whitney! Lots of good New Mexico plugs this episode (still not seeing Oppenheimer)!

I'm sorry, but art like that is simply nothing alluring to me. If it looks like something a high schooler can come up with last second I'm out. I respect this piece shining light on her and her heritage, however I watched a more meaningful 'art' piece back in March. DeLanna Studi's one-woman play "And So We Walked" about learning her Cherokee roots was incredible and deserves more recognition than printouts of the states and smearing acrylic on them.
Her name is Quick-to-see bc once you see it, ya peace out

I went to her barbarian casino and lost 25 bucks but it was an open bar so they lost more. Elizabeth Warren is a proud supporter.. Those 5k purchases were made by collective gallery donations. South Dakota truck stops have better Chinese made Barbarian works at a way better discount..
