As an Australian I have to say London has the best train system I have seen anywhere in the world…. I just loved it when I was there..
@Gerry McNally national rail is still better than what we have.. we don’t have high speed trains.. Melbourne where I am doesn’t even have a train to the international airport..
@Gerry McNally further to this when I was in the UK I caught trains everywhere my last train trip was from Edinburgh to Durham and stayed in Durham for a while then Durham to London it was a sensational service..
My first experience on the London Underground was in the 1970s with my mum and dad when we visited my aunt who lived there. I'm from the north and I thought the underground was such an adventure.

@Transport In West London For a londoner like me who dont even need a Map it easier to to know where all this Trains lines start and terminates well wasnt keen abot your arguments but will double check so I can give an honest observations
But i5s very easy victoria line -Warhalmstow central to victoria , Jubelee line -srratfford to Wembley park. Distristric line Ealing Broadway to Upminister etc
@Transport In West London Which part of the word "captions" is unclear? A vague description which is really only meaningful to Londoners is not a caption. A caption appears on the actual film and tells people what they are looking at.

No air con, and because they can. Most trains won't move with the driver door open.

Where is the DLR ?
It goes from Bank and Tower Gateway towards the east of London down to Beckton and Woolwhich Arsenal, South to Lewisham and North to Stratford
DLR is not in underground

Jubilee line: 1996 Stock, Northern line: 1995 Stock. Listen the different of sounds of these two stocks.
@@vristo1969 yes the jubilee sort of gently slows and the engine cuts out whilst northern just screeches
You can try by listening to differences between the C751A and C830 of the Singapore MRT. Their engine sounds kind of resembles the Northern and Jubilee Line trains, since both 1945 and 1946 stocks we're refurbished by Alstom.
They are completely different!! Just similar looking!!!
Well, the Jubilee trains make a different noise.

The trains are so ugly and similar to each other...other european cities have better a d more good looking metros from Berlino to Milan

They are not similar to each other and they are not ugly. Besides the ones in Paris etc look so horrible.
They do NOT look the same

Actually there’s been quiet a few new designs in operation in recent years. The trains are differing sizes, smaller more rounded top trains on deep lines, more conventional types on “cut and cover lines”.
