      Yep, same with a local dealer service shop here. Just one example that is not abnormal for them. I took my truck to them for the block heater recall. They had it all day. called and I had to Uber to pick it up. OK, no biggy. I drove it to my local motorcycle dealer after "window shoppin" and when I walked out I see this wire harness and connector hanging near my drivers wheel nearly touching the ground. I investigate and see they had replaced the block heater harness but one frame clip on the old harness was a bridge too far so they left the effing thing and didn't bother to fully secure the new cable. I am sure they tucked it in somewhere where they thought it would be ok but it wasn't. I know this was not "immediately dangerous to life and health" but I hit a level of pissed off that was way up the chart! I am a tech in a different industry and can tell you this is not OK. If you don't pay attention to the small stuff I have ZERO confidence in your ability to take care of the big stuff!

    Nice job, although I would have liked to have seen some dielectric grease in that crimp connector. It's been my experience no matter how hard you try moisture will get in there. Also something to note there seems to be no weather seal on that connector. My 2018 had some funny issues with the airbag light popping on etc. Turns out that plug was full of water and corrosion.
    I also installed the marker light as you did, but I used a T connector behind the factory 7-way plug that was meant to add a gooseneck plug in the bed. So I was able to pull ground and power without cutting any factory wires. Been working great so far the last couple years.

    • @PowerStrokeTechTalkwARod
      @PowerStrokeTechTalkwARod  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The crimp connector heat shrink has glue in it. I have a harness avail now so theres NO cutting & MOST certainly not using t-tap splice. All those trailer circuits are all monitored. Surprise you haven't had an issue....

    • @jasonlaws9624
      @jasonlaws9624 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree no t-taps. This is a male and female factory connector not a scotch lock type thing. Haven't had any issues popping up on the dash from the circuits being monitored. Does it use the brake connection to realize a trailer is connected or not? Thankfully it's easily reversed if ever there was a problem.

    • @PowerStrokeTechTalkwARod
      @PowerStrokeTechTalkwARod  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Like for lighting outage. I ve had a hand fulla customers who have tapped into those & for what ever reason the TRM did not like resistances or something and would continuously pop up...trailer wiring faulty..see dealer...trailer connected/disconnected when no trailer...weird shizzz

    • @jasonlaws9624
      @jasonlaws9624 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I will keep my fingers crossed then. My last truck was an 05 and the 18 is certainly more finicky. I added an Isspro mechanical air gauge for my onboard air system and gave up any hope of easily making it work with the factory dash lights and just gave it key on power for the light instead.

      Because, you would need the body harness up at the chmsl...image processing module B....software & the ability to program it all. Thats why u order it from the factory because adding it after the fact no B.S. costs or will cost you $,$$$

      Have same truck. Trust me pal....i work at a dealer as a Ford tech. I know how much this shit is & what it'll take. Thats why these packages are the way they are. 200 when building an 80k truck is nuthin when constructing. Guess you'll have 2 wait till next time...or add your own camera some how 🤷‍♂️

      Sorry a switch to go between a second tank, I have found that switch on line and tank for second tank, and that the plug is stock underneath truck in the loop! I saw the switch in pic that showed the plug set up already under truck from Ford on all f250 and up! ( I have the f350 Crew cab and 40 gal tank and am on road near twice a year. ) More fuel more miles, less time!??? Was lead to the understanding that the plug for that switch is stock.???

I have two trailers that I have the Aux camera on and I want to be able to use them. I have a new 7 pin round with camera connection to replace the factory 7pin with flat block set up??? Thanks Arod

    A/Rod- if I didn’t want to mess with the clips and adding a new pin circuit.....could I just go to the male side of the clip and tap into the violet wire and go straight to the light and then tap into the blue wire (same one used) and have that be my ground? Basically, I’m not 100% comfortable adding another pin in the clip. Just wondered if I could bypass that part and have it still work. Your way looks dope as F though.
