    I just bought a 19 f250 with a 6.7 and the first thing I had to do is replace the windshield. I had it 1 day and it rained I noticed water on the dash. Come to find out it had the wrong windshield installed and poorly done. Now it has the correct windshield and ready to roll.🎉

    That right there is a near $80,000 truck up around here even though its a 19. I got a 19 F-450 back in August, 38K miles, $82K. Previous Owner had the underside coated, and the internal panels coated with Wool Wax. Messy, but man did it protect the metal from the upper Wisconsin salt! There is zero rust on everything except the shells on the running board motors and where the WW evaporated on the rear diff. Does make looking for leaks difficult, but all seals are perfectly dry! YEAH. First thing I did was install an SPE DPK on it.

    I just purchased a 21 F250 with the 6.7 I got lucky and my truck came from South Carolina. If I was looking for a used one, I'd stay away from "Rust Belt" states if possible, that way you'll get a nice clean truck that you can undercoat and be good from the get go. Unless of course the deal is REALLY good, I know it's hard finding a good truck these days where the price isn't completely jacked. Everything that ARod mentioned on this video is good. I'd want to see records as well, look really good for scratches, dings, dents, pull up carpet for water damage, etc. This truck looks like it was kept outside I think, judging by the amount of surface rust underneath. Not a huge deal, but maybe you want a truck that was in a heated garage all its life, I know I would... Run the VIN and make sure you know all the options on the truck. Since mine was a southern truck, no cold weather prep package, so now I have to drop the $200 bones for the block heater. So far I've been very impressed with the 6.7, crazy how much more power it has over my outgoing truck, with a 7.3 PS. Thanks for the video pal!

    There's a 2019 F350 dually with 128K on the clock for sale at my local dealership. I've only ever owned gas trucks, so buying something with that kind of mileage makes me nervous. Then again, I understand the PS is supposed to be good for something like 300-500K miles. I haven't seen the truck in person yet, but it looks like it's in really good shape on the dealer's site. Thanks to this video, I'll have some idea what to look for underneath the truck. Any thoughts on buying a PS with 128K on it?

    Great video. I’ve currently got a 07 6.0 which is a great truck powertrain wise for me, with most of the reliability modifications already done to it, short of the BPD oil cooler. But it’s problem is body. The bed is shot. Cab isn’t horrible but some of the paint has worn thru and that will need to be dealt with at some point. Would I be better off upgrading or sticking with the 6.0?

    I have everstarts from Walmart, 2 years zero leaking or issues, 3 year no question free replacement. And on the esp, inform your client not to but till the 3/36 is about to run out and the earliest. ESP runs concurrent with the current warranty. I bought mine at 60k when the driveline warranty ran out so now I'm good till 185k miles. If you buy an ESP it runs out 125k miles from the day you buy it, it runs concurrent. So if you buy when the truck is new, you only get an extra 25k miles. Dont let the dealership fool ya. Its $1800 cheaper when you buy it when the truck is new, that is the difference but is it worth it?

    You know I have a 17 with over 100k and I had less issues. The shocks continue to make me think Ford has dropped the ball. No excuse on time and use. I do have a seeping lower pan, and did shocks. Funny enough the dealer even suggested not using Fords sealant. The rear axle is truly disappointing. As far a water separator drain valve mines original but I do filters every 15k. But things like leaking shocks differentials upper and lower pans on design in service from 2011 is just sad.

  • @kevinmurphy3464
    @kevinmurphy3464 ปีที่แล้ว

    15,000 miles and you have leaks from the diff, oil pan and 3 out 4 shocks. Ford’s quality like most brands has seriously taken a turn for the worse. At least Engineer Johnny didn’t screw up and make you lift the engine to install a new oil pan gasket like on a 7.3 PS. Best $300.00 a person would ever spend is by having a quality mechanic go through and check everything before purchasing a used vehicle if they don’t know how to check things themselves.

      @@miano07 Absorbed Glass Mat. The batteries that typically come from factory in this truck are standard flooded batteries which tend to leak when overcharged or when charging too high for too long as mentioned by OP. These trucks don’t have smart charging systems so the BCM doesn’t monitor the battery and adjust voltage as necessary. AGM batteries (generally) are much better for starting, deep cycle applications and have a faster charge/discharge rate.
