Beautiful work!!! I have a question. I am new to polymer clay and have now made several pendants as gifts. I am considering whether to try to sell my pieces on Etsy and could use a little advice. Do trendy earrings sell better than pendants? I'm not looking to make a fortune but maybe enough to pay for my materials but would not be apposed to it growing into a small business. I am disabled and love having something I can not only sit and do but love doing it. Thank you for your time!
Hi there! We have only just started selling on Etsy so we are by no means experts, but from the little experience we have we can say that being able to sell things that are searchable or fit into a niche seem to be a bit of a leg up when trying to sell anything on there. For instance, any of our themed earrings have done better than our more generic earrings simply because they are something people search for versus something like our watercolor or marble earrings where there is a lot of competition on Etsy. Once you have a bit of a presence and have a few sales under your belt, I am sure it matters less because by that time you will hopefully have people who follow your shop and etsy will recommend your products more, but I would say if possible try to create a few things that people are looking for. Search around on Etsy for what pendants are selling and see if you can offer anything in a similar vein. I think one of the keys to being successful on Etsy is doing the research before you start!
this is the best tutorial out there for marble earrings I'm just curious about 2 things... is liquid clay necessary? or your work would be just fine without it? same question for the translucent slab, is it important too?
You will definitely get a shine using the satin glaze, but personally we have found that it just doesn't give us the same result as resin. We are going to be experimenting with different methods to get that shiny result in the future for those who prefer not to use resin so we have some alternatives to suggest:)
Hi Vivienne! I usually use either a super thin layer of whatever color the slab will be (like black for instance with the black marble or plain translucent if its a stained glass technique).
Good morning, we really love this tutorial and I have a question. Where did you get the art nouveau fan-shaped cutter? I have looked all over the place and it keeps evading me.
I want to say it was BabyCutters on Etsy!! We love their shop. We will be doing a video on cutters next week and I’m going to post every single shop I have purchased from!
At what point in this process do you condition the clay? When you cut it, it looks straight from the package. So I’m just wondering when/if we’re supposed to condition it.
If im chopping pieces up small for slabs sometimes I dont condition it first. I havent had any issues with that but its definitely a personal preference and either way is totally fine :)
C'est très beau !! Bravo. Mais il est dommage que l'on ne voie pas de parcelles de feuille d'or dans la version en pâte blanche. Par contre on les voit dans la version en pâte noire. Comment cela se fait-il ?
I usually use my pasta machine on the 4 setting for the transluscent. Then I do the slab as a whole on either a 1 or a 2 :). Sometimes its a matter of preference. Some people like the pieces to be chunkier and thicker versus some like thinner pieces. Do what feels right to you :)
Honestly I think its a matter of if youre willing to take the chance that you wont get a good bond. Ive definitely made slabs without it and had no issues so I think its circumstantial :)
We usually leave the paint for a few hours before we check it, it will depend on what kind of climate you are in but definitely a few hours to dry. Once the bake and bond is on you can start to squish it together/roll immediately as long as the paint is already dry:)
What type of material or base are you mixing and forming your cane on top of? I use my glass slab for rolling clay but I want to start using acrylic paint without the base being too messy.
Hi, may I know what is the size of jump rings you used in this video? Can you recommend the ideal size of the jump ring that’s not too big nor too small.
Quick question! Wonderful video by the way! Instead of using polymer clay, would this be applicable with Air Drying Clay by DAS? Along with a finished varnish of gloss? Thanks!
There is still a little bit of dragging sometimes, even when the paint it fully dried, but its an easy fix with a cotton swab and some acetone to clean it up after you've baked it:)
Hii mam, whenever i try making marble earrings it gets burnt wen i bake it, i follow the same procedure which yu have said on the video, please help me
Thank you for sharing! I tried this technique but acrilyc paint doesn’t dry at all, I left it overnight, but it became extremely sticky and tacky, maybe you have any advice for that?
I also use acrylic and try to use it sparingly. Mine have always dried but maybe its a brand thing? Try a different brand of paint and also using just a tiny bit. I hope this helps!!
When I add paint to the cut up clay, it always seems to get sooo ...tacky, sticky...making it hard to cut shapes out of the clay. Can someone help me please?!
Your tutorial is the best I’ve watched yet! Not a lot of jibber jabber, no heavy breathing, great flow and voice! A breath of fresh air! Thank you!
I never thougth acrylic paint coud be applied before baking!
Loved this project, really beautiful. Congratulations.
Thanks so much! Wonderful! God bless you!
Do you only put resin on the front?not both side?

@@TheCloverPatchClayCompany Thank you so much for your advice! It sounds like a good place to start.
What is the alternate of bake n bond??
Very beautiful!!!! 😊
Very nice video. First time I hear about the difference in chopping the clay in small/large pieces. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!

I'm just curious about 2 things...
is liquid clay necessary? or your work would be just fine without it?
same question for the translucent slab, is it important too?
How long does it take for the acrylic paint, clay combo to dry?
With setting 3 in pasta machine sheet became paper thin. Did you use setting zero?
Can we use air dry clay for this???
Is UV lamp absolutely necessary to cure?
Do you have to use resin?
Would satin glaze give the same shine?

these are stunning
how long do you bake them for?
They are so beautiful. I just wanted to know what colour backing clay did you put under your black marble before rolling it out?
Hi Vivienne! I usually use either a super thin layer of whatever color the slab will be (like black for instance with the black marble or plain translucent if its a stained glass technique).
Hello! I’m sorry. What did you put over earrings smith transparent and shiny? Epoxy? Colourful bottle I didn’t understand
Hi! Thanks for sharing! Great video! What oven do you use for baking? Thanks in advance
Can I make this in air dry clay or epoxy compound?

Is it white/black paint? Or liquid clay? And instead of sculpy premo can i use polymer clay or sculpy lll? And do i need bake and bond
That was pretty cool thank you ❤
C'est très beau !! Bravo.

I have a question for people that do this marbling technique. Do they use their pasta machine especially if you’re adding glitter or gold leaf
I have a doubt, what is bacon doodle?
Can the 2-part resin be used? I don't have a UV light or UV resin.
Hello, love your tutorials. They are very helpful. I have a question, how thick is the clay before laying it on the translucent slab?
I usually use my pasta machine on the 4 setting for the transluscent. Then I do the slab as a whole on either a 1 or a 2 :). Sometimes its a matter of preference. Some people like the pieces to be chunkier and thicker versus some like thinner pieces. Do what feels right to you :)
What temperature did you use on your oven & how long ? My first bake the clay was a little soft. I dont think i had them in long enough.
30 mins at 270C :)
Is it necessary to add bake and bond?
Honestly I think its a matter of if youre willing to take the chance that you wont get a good bond. Ive definitely made slabs without it and had no issues so I think its circumstantial :)
How long does the paint take to dry ? And after you place the bake and bond can you start roll immediately or it has to dry as well ?

I am totally new with poylmer clay. How thin do you cut out your earrings
How long do you let the clay dry from the paint
about 30 mins. I ALWAYS wait until its completely dry to prevent bleeding and smearing. :)
@@TheCloverPatchClayCompany that makes complete sense because you deafly don’t want to smear that’s more you’d have to clean up
@@TheCloverPatchClayCompany and thank you for your answer
Great video! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much for watching 😊
Hello, I was wondering what brand of rotary tool you use to clean up the edges.
Hi there! The one we use is linked in the description box:) Thank you so much for watching!!:)
Quick question! Wonderful video by the way!

Hi there! Unfortunately we have never used air dry clay before so we arent sure how it would turn out, so sorry we couldnt be more helpful!!
Love your video! What was your bake time and temp?
Thank you!:)We baked these for 30 minutes at 275 F.
Where can I find rexin
Will it still drag after being dried?
There is still a little bit of dragging sometimes, even when the paint it fully dried, but its an easy fix with a cotton swab and some acetone to clean it up after you've baked it:)
@@TheCloverPatchClayCompany Can I use acetone to remove the drag lines before baking?
