When I wanted to contribute to our family income but needed flexibility, I found the perfect setup: Crafted Threads for design bundles, Amazon for a Cricut printer, and Etsy to sell my creations. I started by printing fun t-shirts during quiet moments at home, and now I also sell them at local craft fairs. It’s incredibly rewarding to see this side hustle making a real difference in our budget!
I just made my first one of these just a few weeks ago and it took off immediately with someone buying three of them within 24 hours of listing and it's continues to sell like crazy. Working on more of these! They are so fun to make!
Congratulations! I was afraid to do one but thanks to Hannah I feel more confident to do it now! ❤😊 if you don’t mind me asking, how did you price your product? I sometimes wonder if people think ai am over charging, ai guess I just need to be more confident 😊😅
@@almagjim I've been pricing my custom items higher than my regular stuff. Still learning pricing strategies myself as well. I do think having a loss leader helps. That particular one I listed for 35.99 and up (Comfort Colors) depending on size but I also have a sale of some sort always running. I'm sure your prices are fine.
Girl those lights. I love your videos, and the tree is gorgeous. But the strobes! I had to have my hand up to cover the tree while it was visible. Thank you for all your informative videos, you are awesome to learn from!
its not a strobe, LED lights can flicker on camera due to the stroboscopic effect, which occurs when the video's frame rate (FPS) doesn't match the light's frequency.
Teachers LOVE a good t-shirt, and I realized I could turn that into a side gig. I used Crafted Threads for hilarious teacher-themed designs, grabbed a Cricut printer off Amazon, and started selling them to colleagues. It began as a joke, but now I’m selling to teachers across the district and even funding classroom supplies with the profits. If you're in education, this is a fantastic side hustle!
As a broke college student with a creative streak, I decided to start a simple t-shirt business. Here's my pipeline for success: Crafted Threads for the design bundle, Amazon for a budget-friendly heat press (or borrow one like I did!), and campus events for my marketplace. Now I’m selling witty shirts that are covering my coffee habit AND my textbooks. It’s been a game changer!
I may have missed this.. But where does the customer upload their images in Etsy...(is there a dropbox type feature?) After the customer orders, it goes directly to printify... Do I have to go back to Kittl or Canva to modify each order?? Does this work with hello custom?
Very good video, but I was wondering if you know "customly", and also is there a way to automise the making process of a bootleg by making people do their choices, I don't know if I am clear but do we have to do all the creation process of the bootleg ourselves all the time there is an order ? Thank very much 🙂
Thanks for sharing this awesome tutorial! Many r looking for ways to tap into the print on demand market, and this niche seems like a great opportunity for beginners . deserves to give it a try and start making some sales in 2024! Brilliant ❤️❤️❤️
Thanks for the tips! Very informative! This will disclose my age but omg, those shirts in the 90s, haha, I remember sneaking outta school to ride the buses into downtown and would hang out at the rocker and goth shops to get my headbanger clothes! hahaha. Oh the memories! I should have kept my clothes! Every style since I was born has been back in style. Thanks again for the info - also, your lights in the background are quite crazy and interesting! haha. I couldn't afford to keep both Canva and Kittl - you prefer Kittl if you had to choose?
So fun! Everything definitely comes around again if you wait long enough. I have been using Kittl more and more lately, so it would probably be my top choice.
I have put a design like this together but I am afraid I won't be able to keep up w demand. How do you make 200 designs a day without having delayed orders?
Set realistic processing times. Adjust as you go. push them out further if you have problems keeping up with demand. You constantly have to tweak. Eventually, you might have to hire help. I wouldn’t worry about it too much right now if it isn’t currently problem.
I really have enjoyed your videos. However, you might want to have a warning on this one. Some people may not be able to watch the video because on the tree, the lights are blinking in a strobe-like effect, and sometimes that does bother them. Otherwise the information you gave is very insightful.
Love these! I would love to get your opinion on something. My shop has the word ‘shirt’ in the name. Currently I have only shirts and sweatshirts in my shop. I’d love to get into other POD products like candles, beer mugs and such. Here’s the big question. Should I open up a new shop to do those items or can I still fit them in my Shirt named shop? I’m relatively new on Etsy, having started at the end of August this year. I’ve done better than I thought I would so far so I’m wondering if adding these products to my existing shop would be best so I could ride the momentum I’ve already got. I’d really love to hear your expert opinion since I see pros and cons to both options.
Great question! I think there’s no problem adding some new offerings even in your current shop. The reality is, many people buy items just off the product page and never even visit your storefront.
This is very cool, I think the part that will be tough is once everyone starts doing it it will all look the same by everyone so will be tough to sell them if everyone is doing the same thing.
How do you get this to the shirt? Do you print this on a specific printer? Just not sure what to do after I make the design. This was super helpful and so detailed!
I just started watching your videos. I signed up for Kittl using your link and code. It looks like the 50% off is for 1 month? You mentioned it would be for life?
Thanks a lot for this Great tutoriel Hannah . I have a question about creative fabrica , there is an offer of 47 $ /year .shall i take it ? is it a good deal ? or it s better to buy graphics without subscription ? thanks a lot for replying me. 2nd Question: if i have to choose as a biginner between kittle or creative fabrica (subscription) what shall i choose ? Thanks in advance 6 best regards.
Can you show how to actually put the design on a T shirt and order it? Am ordering as a gift, not to sell it on website so not sure how to use Primify or Amazon for this!!
Where are the vintage shirts where I can put them on? Print only has the regular shirts.. Vincent shirts are a little bit bigger and looser and longer sleeves
Hi Hannah! Great video! I just tried making this type of shirt for Amazon Merch and it said the upload size was too big. It's around 34,000 KB. I'm so mad, because it looked great. Any ideas? Thanks!
If you were to make a general type of design for Merch for something like a hobby in this style - what would you recommend in terms of keywords for this type of design? are people searching for "bootleg shirt" or is there something else?
This is genius. I currently sell aesthetic/artistic home decor (Printify + Etsy), so no apparel and wrong niche... but I want to try it so badly. Don't want to open a new shop... maybe just make a section just for the shirts ha?
It shouldn't have, but two suggestions you could try. This is for the monthly pro plan. Not sure if it will work for the year up front. Also, try lowercase letters instead. If neither of those work, let me know and I will reach out to the Kittl team.
@hannahebeling I signed up for Kittl using your code. I only got 1/2 off for 1 month. It says next month I'll be charged the full price. You said it would be 50% for life? This would be so amazing if I could keep getting 50% off

Are you using images of people's actual dogs that the owners send you, or are you using stock images of dog breeds?
Hi Hannah, Merch on demand sent me $0.01 after I registered to join, what does this mean?
If they sent it to your bank account it was probably to verify it's your account and you need to write the amount they sent.

@hannahebeling I see you edited the part out where you said you'd get 50% off for life 🤷♀️
Kittl didn't work for me.😢 I just canceled my subscription.😢
Will people buy t shirts with other people's pets names on them? I'm confused ( new to all this though) :)
This trend works best for making personalized or custom products, but you could also make more general niche designs with this aesthetic!
@@hannahebeling Thanks!

ARE BOOTLEG DESIGNS SAFE TO USE ON Amazon?
You won’t be able to do personalization on Amazon merch, but you could take this same concept or style and apply it to other niches you sell.
