    Police gesture you to slow down… You continue to travel at almost 80mph in the lane next to them… Then suggest they need retraining when they pull you over, having already been reasonable by giving you an opportunity to slow down in the first place. Instant Karma for another ‘armchair lawyer’ 😂

      "TheY'Re NoT AboVe ThE laW!" he cries, despite the police having exemptions from such laws when doing so for a policing purpose. So no, they're not above the law, but the law does afford them to be exempt from it.

      5:00 unmarked black BMW Stop. What makes you think police motorway patrol officers don’t have frequent re-sits and refreshers to keep their abilities up to scratch, and maintain their license to conduct high speed chases and TPAC manoeuvres ?
      Like so many we see in this position, you knowingly broke the law and got caught, and you’re just pissed off. You admit speeding and argue it’s 10% +2mph before you get a tug! You failed the attitude test right there you absolute wet wipe!
      I’d like to hear the rest of the conversation where you started to argue about the speed limits, but you fast forwarded that part. Were you just too embarrassed that he tore you a new one to let us hear and enjoy it?
      Car speedos are actually set to read fast, so you DONT get done for speeding all the time. - 10%+3 was the rule in the 50’s and 60’s when most cars were British shite, with smiths approximeters used to give an “about that fast” reading.

The police car should have dropped back slightly because most people don't use their indicator so if the van didn't turn left then it was obvious from the bike riders perspective that the van was going straight on, therefore the police should have allowed for this instead of trying to push through

    5:30 - Cammer dug his own grave. Everyone knows the law isn't 10%+2. That is just the limit that the speed camera's have to account for margin of error. You can go through a camera under 10%+2 at a risk of being caught by the margin of error, but a cop can pull you over for 1mph over the limit. If you'd just owned up to it and not tried to challenge him it would have probably been a lot easier for you. Cop was nice enough to not give you a ticket just for your lack of knowledge of the law whilst trying to inform the cop.
    Additionally, undertaking is not an offence by any stretch of the imagination, and police are allowed to exceed the laws such as speeding whilst they are actively following, or interacting with a road user they intend to pull over.

      @tinyrodent2821 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CrazyMedic Yes, far, far too many. And it's all because driving lessons weren't allowed to be taken on motorways until very recently. And thankfully the police have started cracking down on it and there have been plenty of people being given tickets for "driving without consideration for other road users" for lane hogging.

  • @Iamandyf
    @Iamandyf 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Like others have said, 10 + 2 is a guideline to account for underreading on your speedo - e.g. your speedo says you are going 70 but you are actually clocked going 75, it wouldnt feel fair if you got a ticket for a minor discrepency on your car that you couldn't possibly have known about. But that is a general guideline and if they think you were going over, they can still give you a ticket (although it gives a lot of wiggle room to dispute it in court).
    If you blatantly say to the police "I was going and indicated 79", you have just admitted to speeding. Worse, if your speedo is also underreading, you could have actually been going 85+.

    For anyone wondering what 10+2 means. It’s 10% leeway + 2 mph on most speed cameras in the uk. Why? Because no car has an accurate speedometer. This depends on road conditions, tyre thread and other factors. If you’re doing 70mph you’re only really doing about 66mph on average.
    For the police pulling him over is absolutely correct. Not petty at all. Middle lane hogging (which is illegal) There’s building up traffic ahead and doing 79mph isn’t really necessary. He got off lightly. The cop could have gave him a fine for driving without due care and attention.

      The bus lane on Beverley Road heading towards Hull city centre until 2020 had an operation time of 7.30am-10am and was open to all traffic to use until 7.30am the next day. It is sign posted at regular intervals along it length and the van driver would have seen at least 2 signs one before Sculcoates Lane junction and one just before where the bus lane starts. In the original post a few years ago it was said to have been 1.30pm, then the bus lane was open to all traffic and the van driver was allowed to use it without restrictions. The 1.5m rule at this time was not applicable and the van driver could have passed the cyclist leaving a reasonable gap. The merge in turn at this was was not in operation because it was outside the bus lanes operation time slot.

There's also the concept of "appropriate use of speed". Learners for example might fail for inappropriate use of speed and complain they never once went over the limits. As for this allowed speed Limit being Speed + 10% plus 2 is NOT law. Speeding is classed as an absolute offence. You either are or your Not. Most UK car Speedo’s indicate HIGH. You can be doing 60 indicated on the cars Speedo but actually on a calibrated device (similar to the ones used by the Police) your actual speed would be around 57 -58. Secondly never argue with a policeman about speed... I think you were very lucky not to get a ticket. SPEED KILLS don’t want a ticket. They are very easy too avoid. DONT SPEED. As for informing viewers too disable the speed info on a DashCam, could be seen as an attempt to pervert the course of justice. Although a minor one
