You had me hooked for 25 minutes straight! I almost didn't blink while watching this incredible footage and being immersed in your storytelling. Also, owls are the best!🦉Cheers, Patrik
Congratulations on both seeing all our Owl species, and producing a very good documentary. A Tawny box is on my ‘to do’ list this coming week having hear them call across the farmland at the back of our house. For me, where I am, Tawny Owls are a common bird to hear in the night. Barn Owls can be seen within a short drive to some farmland with dilapidated buildings. I have seen and photographed Little Owls, but Short Eared Owls are a bogey Owl for me. They used to frequent fields where I lived a few years ago but I dipped every time I visited. Lastly, the Long Eared, your most difficult bird to see are only a few miles from my home, I have seen them, but admittedly not for ages. Having 3 young children, photography and wildlife have had to take a back seat for the last 10 years, I do get out, rarely, but can’t sustain the time required to do such a project like this, that’s why I appreciate those who can. I’ll await your Golden Eagle project now you’re in Scotland, I toured there in 2019 and saw Red Squirrel ( I used to see them in South Wales in the 70’s ) and my first Hooded Crow amongst others. Thanks for sharing your story 👏👏👏
It isn't easy making entertaining wildlife programs, so so many things are out of your control, but you did it and did it well. You should be very proud of the filming quality it's absolutely top knotch and I enjoyed the light personal touch with the story line, Definitely make part 2 at least it would work so well before moving on imo.
Well Thankyou very much! Glad your TH-cam rabbit hole has led you here! If I’m not mistaken you’re the guy with the amazing collection of defenders? My absolute dream car!
I was alerted to this film via RPUK and have not found a chance to watch until tonight....it's a really superb film and well worth waiting till i had the chance to give it my full attention. If you don't have a career ahead of you in nature films, you either don't want it or there's no justice! Really impressed with your filiming skills too as a long lens does not necessarly make a good shot. Best of luck with your next project Ben!
I really enjoyed this film, well done, amazing footage of the owls too. Looking forward to seeing your next challenge. Your new house location looks incredible by the way!
What a wonderful demonstration of passion, genuine interest, perseverance, and commitment! Thank you for sharing this wonderful documentary! Thank you for also raising awareness about the plight of protected species in the UK, and in other parts of the world.
Hello Ben! Great job! My first owl I saw in the nature (not in the zoo) was the long-eared owl in the town of Sosnowiec (Poland). I didn't know that the long-eared owl is so rare in the UK. In my country Poland is the second common species of owl (after the tawny owl). Now in my region of Upper Silesia (southern Poland) we can found them around the city of Gliwice. Anyway the short-eared owl is very rare in Poland. Barn owls are also much more rare than in the UK.
This was an amazing documentry, the thought process on how you pulled it all togeather and the edit was perfect. Well done you and I will be keeping an eye out for more docu videos.
Excellent film! Congratulations! Owls are also a favorite of mine, and have never seen one. We have then here, because I've heard them. But as they are in someone else's back yard, I can't exactly go prowling around at night - -- -- unless I ask permission! Anyway, thanks for sharing your great accomplishment1!!
Well done, Ben! Great video, excellently put togther and filmed with great story telling. I'm still missing the Little Owl - I've never yet seen one in the wild! Congratulations on putting together such a great video. Superb job.
Just watched your great video, keep up the great work and follow your dream, they are a beautiful creature to see and I know how hard it is to not only to see them but to photograph them is a gem. look forward to more of your work. all the way from Tasmania
❤ Subbed and shared. Ben, this is awesome. I've only seen two kinds of owls in person. Happy trails to you and blessings on your wondrous path. 🦉🌍🍃🇬🇧🦉💙✨
What a lovely delightful video, superb footage of these beautiful owls, especially the long eared owl, to see those beautiful wing markings whilst in flight was so special. Thank you looking forward to the next episode.
It IS possible to build boxes for little owls, check Kuvik Madarles in Hungary. Those circular nests are made of board, like the construction workers do the pillar molds.
I loved this so much thank you very much fo sharing it with us, have to say you are a natural, and thank you that despite everything you were never pushy with the wildlife, massive credit to you, and i have suscribed hope you do another one.
This was delightful Ben, you certainly set yourself up a challenge, even before having to move house! But I enjoyed the footage so much and the owls were gorgeous. I hope you do some more films, you are certainly talented enough. Good luck.
Great video! Loved watching it from beginning to end. The pace and narrative were spot on. I appreciate it took a lot of effort editting and owl spotting. Also, I think finding all the owls in 122 hours is quite an accomplishment! Looking forward to your next project :)
Wow...Ben...amazing work. I am going to schools to give workshops on British Owls.. I wonder could I use your fabulous footage to show the kids as part of their morning activity?
Fantastic documentary!!! You are extremely talented with a brilliant life ahead. Congrats on your box having occupants…. New sub here (you will grow your channel very fast I imagine)…👋 from Arizona 🙏🏻❤️💕🦉🦉🪺

Beautifully done and most enjoyable - well not the bits where you looked at your lowest - but the end result is great! Thank you for all your hard work! 😊❤️💚💛🧡🦉
Fantastic film and perseverance - congrats on finding all your owls. I hope you enjoy your new home and tawny neighbour. I look forward to seeing your next project, especially if it involves eagles! Sub’d 😊
Im so glad my interest in owls has been reinvigorated from my recent cabin trip - wouldn't have found this video otherwise 😅insane filming and amazing narrative/storytelling, the effort you've put into this project truly shows! Very well done and am looking forward to more content 🤝
That is a excellent point, I looked at both the eagle and snowy owls- I even had some pieces filmed. But I felt for this film it might just be a little too much, definitely not out of the question for a future film though- they are definitely harder to find in the UK!
Move over Chris Packham ... that was truly entertaining and informative film and I have never left a comment before on youtube but I thought you deserved it. well done.

Very good Ben! The new house location is incredible. Have you named your new resident owl living in the box?
Thankyou! And no have not, any suggestions?
@@bengarrickmedia The family has gone for the most original owl name they could think of. Hedwig. 😅
Brilliant 👏
Brilliant job Ben
Thanks so much Vince!
Is it worth to include the Eagle Owl, whether it's "native" or "not"?
That is a excellent point, I looked at both the eagle and snowy owls- I even had some pieces filmed. But I felt for this film it might just be a little too much, definitely not out of the question for a future film though- they are definitely harder to find in the UK!
