This is embarrassing. In case anyone noticed, I made a mistake in this video. I thought Sissel sang the words, "To be willing to die so that others in justice may live." She actually sang, "To be willing to die so that honor and justice may live." Different words, but carries the same message. (The Lord certainly has a way of keeping me humble.)

Glad to see you're back. Yes she can still pitch those songs in her maturity. I got to see her in concert in Kongsberg a few weeks back. I got to meet with her after the concert, just Sissel and me. She is the most gracious person and so easy to talk with. When I had called her name, she stopped what she was doing and walked over to me (!) saying, 'Hi.' When I told her how far I'd come, she was clearly amazed and how I had sat through a concert conducted almost entirely in Norwegian; "You couldn't have understood much of what I was saying" She asked about my family, and where I was staying (I nearly said 'Your house') She chatted about the music and why she never came to Ireland, home of the ship that lead to the film score that... etc. I got to thank her for all the wonderful music and songs I would never have known but for her; all the beautiful folk music of her earlier career. She is so tall and believe it or not, she is more beautiful offstage, appearing years younger. She sang in her bare feet. I was quickly turned into a bumbling idiot by the power of her presence. So I quit while I was winning. No autograph. No selfie. I was the best person I ever was or will be, talking with her. I was shriven.
OK, I'm soooo jealous I can't stand it, but I'm so happy for you. Where were you when you called her name? How tall do you think she is? (In many of her videos I've noticed she's worn what seems like 6" heels.) I've seen another video from years back that I would have sworn she was barefoot. I don't know if I could have resisted not asking for a selfie with her. Thanks so much for sharing your experience. Feels like I got to know Sissel a little better from hearing your experience.
@@dashcam-blogger She was getting into her car an hour after the concert, putting things into it when I spied her. I was standing some way off and dared not approach in case I bothered her. When she walked to me I felt like I was levitating. I'm 5ft ten a half. I was looking up at her. (no one can drive in 6" heels). She is one of those rare persons born lovely and ever so shall be.
I'm curious, how long was the concert performance? Did she sing anything in English? I'm still so jealous. The U.S. is way too far for me to be able to travel to see her especially with my health issues. Next week I find out if the cancer has returned. You have a nice day and God bless.

The point of both is my/our faux ego death for the life of that which is categorically greater. Sissel the philosopher is becoming ever so prominent and expressive in her later years. She is a gift that keeps giving more and more.
