    Great review! I bought this A20 (not sure if it's the A20+ - that is not what is noted in the documentation) in The Netherlands earlier this year. Your review is one of the only showing the updated model, with reflectors on the wheels and kick stand, and other improvements from the previous version. I am generally happy with mine after 200+ km, but handlebars, saddle and some other joints do need tightening regularly. My rear light is cheap and broke the first day. But as you said, for the price it's okay.
    I generally get about 35 km max out of each battery charge, but I ride it pretty hard in Amsterdam with a lot of starting and stopping. I also have cruise control working in the "unlocked' control pane (level 3). I found these settings elsewhere on TH-cam.
    My fastest speed is 37 kph on a flat, no wind, cement cycle path out of the city. The speed of 25kph is the max allowed in NL.
    It's a great city bike and good for the train too since it's foldable. I suggest the removal the battery key when folding, you will bend or break it if the pedals are in the wrong place. I also don't like the location of the key...also wish it had a rear wheel lock option.

    Beautiful review, i would like to give some feedback thou which people might find useful.
    There is A20 and A20+, A20+ have EU and Internation version [you can buy either one of them and they are essentially the same frame/parts/everything]
    A20 A20+ difference
    the light switch and horn on a20+ have different buttons and they arguingly may feel a tad better, but they are single colour not green and red
    A20 have 350w motor
    A20+ have 250w motor [eu is assisted only, international can unlock full electric and full speed]
    Differences stopping there, everything else is absolutely the same parts.
    Also a tip, the seat may not be the greatest, i own one [for an year and so] A20+ international version actually, which is 250w motor to comply with EU regulations, but allows unlocking [unlike the EU version] absolutely the same bike otherwise, oke that aside and back to the seat, buy a seat with a suspension in it, wider one, the stock is all nice and good around city, going to the store and or to the station, but if you are having 30km trip, it can get a little uncomfy depending on the road conditions. I got selle royal drifter plus, seat post have a suspension, the saddle gets a suspension, so that works well, Its a cruise saddle, try it out, its like heaven for your buttocks, every hole feels like spa massage, that is my most highly recommended accessory for any long trips with a bicycle which doesn't have full suspension.
    [have in mind that buying a suspension saddle, the saddle suspension takes space, so mounting a camera or a stop light at the back of the saddle might prove difficult if you have a short saddle mount for accessories.]
    The plastic fenders are weak, if you have to change a tire, oil a chain or otherwise work on the bike, you must flip it upside down, with that i learned a harsh lesson, the rear fender presses upon the ground and its clipped not bolted, so clips dented the plastic, easy fix m5 sized 4mm bolts with wide washers provides much more steady mudguard attachment.
    Get a center stand, WHY, because the bike actually have a mounting SPOT for one and you can change a tire without flipping up the bike upside down.
    The only issue i know so far is... max range at max speed full electric... it will take you no more than 25 to 35km depending on your road conditions, yes i went to the city with it few times, 27km, we have hills and climbs on the way, so that was exactly how much the bike did on a full charge.
    [they pointed out on the new one you can go 40km full electric, which is closer to the truth, i am sure on a good road without all the lugage i can easy reach 40km, so thats a plus for the company they providing more accurate information now]
    Tip, the motor controller supports higher voltage and you can get 36v17.5AH [default is 36v10.4AH chinese brand cells... not quite good] battery or 42 one which will almost double your range and does better on climbs, why because i have 2 batteries but it is very difficult to carry a spare one with you considering that the original store do not offer a special rack bags or ramp bags for a spare battery.
    Last tip, most 20inch bikes are considered kids bikes, NOT SURE WHY, because foldable bikes cant be 26/27/28 inches tire, but many stores lack of 20inch bike accessories or they are under kids section which questions the quality for a serious ride, have that in mind. XD

    Great review as always Ben. I have an electric scooter but I've just ordered a very similar bike, the Samebike 20LVXD30. The main difference is that the Samebike is 48V and has a bigger battery. In theory that means 33% more power and torque. It comes with a rear rack so hopefully I'll be able to go on rides with my Border Terrier (carry her home in a basket when she's had enough and won't walk anymore).

      I dug a little deeper into both these bikes and ended up getting the A20 although there's really not much to choose between the two. As you say the AD0 is 36v as compared to the Same bikes 48v but that's not the whole story. The ADO uses a 15 amp controller and the Samebike only has a 12 amp unit , so the ADO is 36x 15 = 540 watts peak output. The samebkike is 48x12 =576 watts peak power so in fact just 36watts more power from the Samebike. As far as torque goes the Samebike makes 30nm and the ADO a healthier 40nm so things are evened up here. The main decider for me was the fact that the ADO will easily accept a 48v battery ( the one from the Samebike Lo 26 fits perfectly) and the controller can be switched to 48v in the settings this gives 48v X 15 amps = 720 peak watts.

    • @ryanburr8419
      @ryanburr8419 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@simonbean1264 Hi Simon, sorry I didn't get a notification you had replied to my comment. I hope you enjoy your Ado A20. For me I was able to get the Samebike from a local Australian company for less than ordering an Ado A20 from China (it isn't available locally) and the extra consumer protections were a factor for me. There are actually two different versions of the Samebike: the 20lvxd30 and 20lvxd30-II. I ordered the II which apparently has an upgraded controller and screen although I'm not sure how many amps. Apparently the first version only had one level of pedal assist (max) while the new version has 5 levels. All in all I think the Ado and the Samebike are very similar bikes so it's probably hard to go to far wrong.

    • @DM-sc4zy
      @DM-sc4zy 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ryanburr8419 Hello aussie here as well, where did you order your 20lvxd30-II from locally? and the price if you don't mind. heard Samebike is prone to rust after a while even if you don't ride in the rain, obviously its not all made of aluminum as they claim.

    • @DM-sc4zy
      @DM-sc4zy 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@simonbean1264 I'd take these amp numbers with a grain of salt. and even if they are true, upgrading controller ($50ish) is way cheaper than battery.

    I bought the bike using the link. The seller is Chinese, and said to me they don't have the bike in black will white do? I said that's fine so long as I get the free helmet in the same colour. They told me not to worry, they will send it. The bike came really quickly, but no helmet, the peddles don't fold up and the manual is bad. The customer service team can barely understand English and the code "Ben" doesn't give you 30% off, you get $30 off - I spent $869 or £681. Not taken it out for test run yet, but not expecting much from these guys.

      Dont worry about it. Nobody cares as long as you arent tearing down the road at 30 plus miles an hour on a scooter or noisey electric scrambler. It's a totally unenforceable law. Or they would have to ban thousands of delivery riders for a start. Most have souped up e bikes with 500w PLUS motors.
      The A20 is the best ebike for 700 euro right now.

    • @DavidWilsonOutandAbout
      @DavidWilsonOutandAbout 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have the EU version and the data badge on the motor states it is 36V/250W, although it is a 350W motor with the throttle disabled and limited to 15.5 mph via the controller. The throttle can be enabled in 20 seconds, and the speed increase in about the same time. The loophole is that the bike is governed, road-legal on delivery, unlocked it can be used on private land.

    • @petertomo95
      @petertomo95 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Limited to 15.5mph but I've recorded 26mph on a mountain bike down a long down hill road. Not steep to go super quick and road bikes easily get past 30 downhill. It's a pretty ridiculous law

      @@fender1000100 A few weeks ago, I just saw a long police lorry with a multitude of e-bikes that they had just taken off of people including delivery riders down in London. So I believe they do care, but it's just a matter of time before they catch up with you. The reason for why they did this was because the e-bikes were modified above the legal road requirements for an e-bike on UK roads.
