If hear the speech carefully, at the very beginning he is telling that hindus believes Pantheism (worship of multiple Earthy objects as gods) and then all he is quoting is from the Hindu Scriptures. Which he is doing to let all know that the practicing Pantheism is wrong as per the Hindu scripture itself. Another important things is he is trying to find the similarities between Hinduism and Islam so that we cant forget about our differences and come to the common terms in order to increase unity between us. And to find unity between groups is itself a great work no matter whoever is doing.

What I was trying to tell is that Dr. Zakir Naik is trying to emphasize about the similarities that Quran and Hindu Scriptures and he is telling about them there. The main concern is in practise, the hindus completely(almost every one of them) follow Pantheism, but in hindu scriptures, there are a lot of places where where Monotheism is being told. And, it is quite similar with the concept of god in Islam. To find similarities means to find unity in between. This was his cause. And mine too. To know more deeply you have to read about Islam, it is quite interesting and liberating. Its hard to make you understand through this written text. It would have been better if we could have a friendly conversation with each other in person. I always believed that through better understanding about each other, we can reduce misconceptions whether it is two individual or it is two communities. Peace. 🙂

Ajmal Ishaq God doesn’t speak in the ignorant and arrogant language of humans. In Hinduism, it is called Nirgun ( without any goon or characteristics ) Brahman ( existence/consmos) .. Nirgun doesn’t have ego issues. It doesn’t care about humans and their petty problems like make image or not. It is a state of pure sweet bliss which all humans have to reach. idol worshiping is not prohibited in Vedas, but considered as least kind of worshiping. Preference is given to Manasika Pooja which means a person who wish to worship any god, need to assume god's image in his mind and concentrate on that god and worship in his mind Manasika. This method is possible to only those who have a lot of meditation practice, and those people are mostly be saints or Rushi. So all other people who can't achieve this method, they can use alternate way. Idol worshiping is one of the alternate way which can be followed by a common man. Ways of worshiping will also differ in each Yuga. Difficulty is reduced from one Yuga to another. In Kruta Yuga or Satya Yuga worshiping is only by Yagna or Yaga and Tapass because gods were coming to earth more often and people were living like few 1000 years. Only those who have ability to do Tapass for many 100 years will be considered for special reward. In Treta Yuga still Tapass and Yagna or Yaga is the way to worship. But because people live like few 100 years, less than Kruta Yuga, the duration and count also reduced. In Dwapara Yuga this is again reduced. In Kali Yuga as all we know, no guaranty to live 100 years, among all of it 50-60 years will be spent for career building and settle down. So common people can't follow those difficult methods to worship. So this is again reduced to Nama Smarana. Just chanting gods name is enough. If they have will power then can perform Manasika Pooja for few Seconds. Update : There are few Shlokas in Vedas which will describe a god. They are called as Dhyana Shlokas. By which one can assume a god with those descriptions. Most of them can't imagine what they think for very long time, its because of Manasika Chanchalatva, so for those people who can't do Manasika pooja they can follow Idol Worshiping. Nothing wrong in worshiping god in any way.
I think it may have been possible that in the beginning, almighty God allowed idol worship as people during the time the vedas were revealed were primitive and couldn't fully grasp the concept of God. Even then, it was discouraged. Later on, when humanity developed, almighty god, decided that humanity had developed enough intelligence to "graduate" from worshipping idols. Hence, it became prohibited with the final revelation of almighty God (the Quran).
Greatest difference between Hinduism and Muslim religion is this both has scripture but Hindu religion besides Buddhism and Sikhism all alone is the only religion which is experiential religion.Meaning all other religions take the words of their respective religious scripture as final words and based their faith and belief by understanding them.Only in Hindu religion people has gone step beyond and experienced the idea of spirit and it's manifestation in this universe.Their is no other religion in this world which has done this to go beyond what scriptures say about God and universe and experienced and realized this himself and herself. Not all is equipped with qualities and capacity to read and understand Vedas. You know Vedas consist of prayers and praises of deities or not ? Along with charms and magical remedies ? Ayurveda and such things ? There is hardly any practicality or route for life people can get when they read Vedas. It would take years to actually understand vedas and then they might know what to do and what not. The principle of vedas ? Not all can do that for sure. Hence there are other methods for different people of different nature's. For such purposes different books like puranas and ithihasa are there. They give different guidance for different people and through such tales and short books the values Live in society.

A Hindu can be anything but at the end of the day, there is only one Brahman ie one absolute truth. 'One without a second' means that Brahman is infinite and eternal, transcending through everything. There is no start and end to Him and Brahman is formless but He will manifest in several forms. The trimurti represent the three processes of life: creation, preservation and destruction. God is present in all three as is God present in the tridasha (33 devas). (I describe Brahman as God so that you can understand but it's not quite like Abrahamic people believe) Hinduism is one of the few religions to respect diversity - especially as it is a family of beliefs within itself. It doesn't rely on one book being a strict manual. Sanatana Dharma can be applied to any universal being at any time whereas Abrahamic religions can only be applied to people who get the message within a certain timeframe

The heat thought to itself: 'Let me become many. Let me propagate myself.' It emitted water. Whenever it is hot, therefore, a man surely perspires; and thus it is from heat that water is produced. The water thought to itself: 'Let me become many. Let me propagate myself.' It emitted food. "There is no one in the world who is his master" - Svetashvatara Upanishad 6.9* This is again out of context. "God has no likeliness" - Svetashvatara Upanishad 4.19* This is out of context. The line is again talking about the innermost self (Atman) as being god, not Allah's god/monotheism, this completely changes the meaning. Just 2 verses it what 'god' is- "As the Benign One hidden in all beings" - Svetashvatara Upanishad 4.16 "That God, the maker of all, the immense self (atman)" - Svetashvatara Upanishad 4.17 *4. He then quotes "All those whose intelligence has been stolen by material desires surrender unto demigods" - Gita 7. 20* Naik literally took the verse out of context & completely changed the meaning. Krishna is saying that one who prays to demi-gods or see's god as separate entities distinct from the inner self are stolen by material desires, so they should pray to the true self/soul which is Krishna himself. This is called Advaita philosophy. Here is the context - "I am in everyone’s heart as the Supersoul. As soon as one desires to worship some demigod, I make his faith steady so that he can devote himself to that particular deity. Endowed with such a faith, he endeavors to worship a particular demigod and obtains his desires. But in actuality these benefits are bestowed by Me alone." - Gita 7.21 - 7.22 Plus Krishna says you can worship to him any way & there's no restriction on method - "In whatsoever way men approach Me, even so do I reward them; for it is My path, O Partha, that men follow in all things." - Gita 4.11 "I envy no one, nor am I partial to anyone. I am equal to all. But whoever renders service unto Me in devotion is a friend, is in Me, and I am also a friend to him." - Gita 9.29 *5. "Of that God there is no image" - Yajur Veda 32.3* This is again taken out of context. The whole verse is talking talking about the analogy of Hiranyagarbha, a cosmic egg that is at the creation of the universe, not Allah. Just the next line it says - "In the beginning rose Hiranyagarbha, etc. Let not him harm me, etc. Than whom there is no other born, etc." The god of form is Saguna, and beyond form/no-form is Nirguna Brahman (the ultimate) which is what this verse is referring too. I have read all the Vedas and Upanishads myself and these are the wrong interpretations Many times, the chapter, which is talking about, is telling about a particular God like Surya Dev or Indra or Mahadev etc..... He only quotes half of them He did not mug up the Hindu text, but only found part of verses to fulfill his ambition, something commonly found in salesmen

@@thestoryteller9327 the manifestations of God do not have no soul. most Hindus don't worship multiple dieties at once but rather a diety of choice. in the Bhagavad Gita Krishna advises worshipping him solely as that is equivalant to worshipping all the dieties at once. there is a concept in Hinduism known as Bhakti which cannot exactly be translated to English but is close to devotion. devotion to any manifestation of God through Bhakti is equivalant to worshipping God as a whole because you are showing that manifestation enough Bhakti for God. worshipping God with a form is also allowed as God has a form and is without a form at the same time. it is recommended in Sanatan Dharma to worship Saguna Brahman and then Nirguna Brahman.

Scriptures are not evryhting in Hinduism. To understand those text u need to be open minded. It's not black and white. It's says u can believe anyhting one god and multiple of gods. If hear the speech carefully, at the very beginning he is telling that hindus believes Pantheism (worship of multiple Earthy objects as gods) and then all he is quoting is from the Hindu Scriptures. Which he is doing to let all know that the practicing Pantheism is wrong as per the Hindu scripture itself.
Another important things is he is trying to find the similarities between Hinduism and Islam so that we cant forget about our differences and come to the common terms in order to increase unity between us. And to find unity between groups is itself a great work no matter whoever is doing.

What I was trying to tell is that Dr. Zakir Naik is trying to emphasize about the similarities that Quran and Hindu Scriptures and he is telling about them there. The main concern is in practise, the hindus completely(almost every one of them) follow Pantheism, but in hindu scriptures, there are a lot of places where where Monotheism is being told. And, it is quite similar with the concept of god in Islam.
To find similarities means to find unity in between. This was his cause. And mine too.
To know more deeply you have to read about Islam, it is quite interesting and liberating. Its hard to make you understand through this written text. It would have been better if we could have a friendly conversation with each other in person.
I always believed that through better understanding about each other, we can reduce misconceptions whether it is two individual or it is two communities. Peace. 🙂

Islam believes in sky sitting god. Sanatan believes in the divinity within. The real goal of Sanatan is to realise the divinity that lies within ourselves in the form of Atman. So meditation was the direct path. But the consciousness levels of human beings are so low that meditation cant be followed by ordinary people now. So Bhaktipath is recommended now. I am happy with Samatan philosophy so dont want to try anything new.

He didn't understand even one of those shlokas. "Of him there are no images" - means that with limited human capacity we can't conceive or realise the divine. Ajmal Ishaq God doesn’t speak in the ignorant and arrogant language of humans. In Hinduism, it is called Nirgun ( without any goon or characteristics ) Brahman ( existence/consmos) .. Nirgun doesn’t have ego issues. It doesn’t care about humans and their petty problems like make image or not. It is a state of pure sweet bliss which all humans have to reach. The whole verse actually says “there is no counterpart of Him (i.e. Hiranya-garbha) whose glory is verily great.”
The section quoted is discussing the nature of the Ultimate Reality and begins by saying that “THAT Ultimate Reality is Fire, the Sun, Wind and the Moon.” It is an affirmation of pantheism and not monotheism. The keyword here pratimā which Dr. Naik takes to mean “image” in the context actually means “similarity” or “equivalent” and is referring to the glory of Brahman/Hiranyagarbha. Pratimā in a different context can also be an iconic representation. (Sanskrit Dictionary for Spoken Sanskrit)
2. śuddham apāpa-vidham” - He is body less and pure (Yajurveda: 40:8)
The whole sections read:-
He has filled all, He is radiant, bodiless, invulnerable, devoid of sinews, pure, untouched by evil. He, the seer, thinker, all-pervading, self-existent has duly allotted different functions to the various and eternal Prajā-patis or creator gods.
Again it is referring to the all-pervading and pantheistic nature of the Supreme Being who has empowered the various creator gods (including Allah).
3. “na saṁdṛśe tiṣṭhati rūpam asya, na cakṣuṣā paśyati kas canainam”

idol worshiping is not prohibited in Vedas, but considered as least kind of worshiping. Preference is given to Manasika Pooja which means a person who wish to worship any god, need to assume god's image in his mind and concentrate on that god and worship in his mind Manasika. This method is possible to only those who have a lot of meditation practice, and those people are mostly be saints or Rushi. So all other people who can't achieve this method, they can use alternate way. Idol worshiping is one of the alternate way which can be followed by a common man.
Ways of worshiping will also differ in each Yuga. Difficulty is reduced from one Yuga to another.
In Kruta Yuga or Satya Yuga worshiping is only by Yagna or Yaga and Tapass because gods were coming to earth more often and people were living like few 1000 years. Only those who have ability to do Tapass for many 100 years will be considered for special reward.
In Treta Yuga still Tapass and Yagna or Yaga is the way to worship. But because people live like few 100 years, less than Kruta Yuga, the duration and count also reduced.
In Dwapara Yuga this is again reduced. In Kali Yuga as all we know, no guaranty to live 100 years, among all of it 50-60 years will be spent for career building and settle down. So common people can't follow those difficult methods to worship. So this is again reduced to Nama Smarana. Just chanting gods name is enough. If they have will power then can perform Manasika Pooja for few Seconds.
Update : There are few Shlokas in Vedas which will describe a god. They are called as Dhyana Shlokas. By which one can assume a god with those descriptions.
Most of them can't imagine what they think for very long time, its because of Manasika Chanchalatva, so for those people who can't do Manasika pooja they can follow Idol Worshiping. Nothing wrong in worshiping god in any way.
I think it may have been possible that in the beginning, almighty God allowed idol worship as people during the time the vedas were revealed were primitive and couldn't fully grasp the concept of God. Even then, it was discouraged. Later on, when humanity developed, almighty god, decided that humanity had developed enough intelligence to "graduate" from worshipping idols. Hence, it became prohibited with the final revelation of almighty God (the Quran).

'One without a second' means that Brahman is infinite and eternal, transcending through everything. There is no start and end to Him and Brahman is formless but He will manifest in several forms. The trimurti represent the three processes of life: creation, preservation and destruction. God is present in all three as is God present in the tridasha (33 devas). (I describe Brahman as God so that you can understand but it's not quite like Abrahamic people believe)
Hinduism is one of the few religions to respect diversity - especially as it is a family of beliefs within itself. It doesn't rely on one book being a strict manual. Sanatana Dharma can be applied to any universal being at any time whereas Abrahamic religions can only be applied to people who get the message within a certain timeframe

This is taken out of context. He conveniently didn't quote the next 2 verses because it's talking about pantheism & how the universe is one with god and the different parts of the universe are god. It's not referring to Allah or monotheism, it's a philosophy called Advaita. The whole paragraph -
"And it thought to itself: 'Let me become many. Let me propagate myself.' It emitted heat. The heat thought to itself: 'Let me become many. Let me propagate myself.' It emitted water. Whenever it is hot, therefore, a man surely perspires; and thus it is from heat that water is produced. The water thought to itself: 'Let me become many. Let me propagate myself.' It emitted food. Whenever it rains, therefore, food becomes abundant; and thus it is from water that foodstuffs are produced." - Chandogya Upanishad 6.2.3
*2. "There is no one in the world who is his master" - Svetashvatara Upanishad 6.9*
This is again out of context. This verse is referring to the innermost self (atman) as the ultimate god which 'has no master', not Allah's god/monotheism. 2 verses before -
"The Lord of prosperity, as abiding within ourselves (atman), as the Immortal residing in all beings" - Svetashvatara Upanishad 6.6
"The one God hidden in all beings, pervading the universe, the inner self of all beings, the overseer of the work..." - Svetashvatara Upanishad 6.11
So is Allah the innermost self of all beings..?
*3. "God has no likeliness" - Svetashvatara Upanishad 4.19*
This is out of context. The line is again talking about the innermost self (Atman) as being god, not Allah's god/monotheism, this completely changes the meaning. Just 2 verses it what 'god' is-
"As the Benign One hidden in all beings" - Svetashvatara Upanishad 4.16
"That God, the maker of all, the immense self (atman)" - Svetashvatara Upanishad 4.17
*4. He then quotes "All those whose intelligence has been stolen by material desires surrender unto demigods" - Gita 7. 20*
Naik literally took the verse out of context & completely changed the meaning. Krishna is saying that one who prays to demi-gods or see's god as separate entities distinct from the inner self are stolen by material desires, so they should pray to the true self/soul which is Krishna himself. This is called Advaita philosophy. Here is the context -

Plus Krishna says you can worship to him any way & there's no restriction on method -
"In whatsoever way men approach Me, even so do I reward them; for it is My path, O Partha, that men follow in all things." - Gita 4.11
"I envy no one, nor am I partial to anyone. I am equal to all. But whoever renders service unto Me in devotion is a friend, is in Me, and I am also a friend to him." - Gita 9.29

This is again taken out of context. The whole verse is talking talking about the analogy of Hiranyagarbha, a cosmic egg that is at the creation of the universe, not Allah. Just the next line it says -
"In the beginning rose Hiranyagarbha, etc. Let not him harm me, etc. Than whom there is no other born, etc."
The god of form is Saguna, and beyond form/no-form is Nirguna Brahman (the ultimate) which is what this verse is referring too. I can keep going on, but all his points so far are wrong.

After thousands years have passed,the Brahmins identified themselves as the dictator of Hinduisme but thats not true,its just a politic...However at ancient our different methods worshiping God has binded together as Aruvam and Uruvam (Formless ,Form) and we became a family (one religion with sharing of all the scriptures,not only Veda)..That is Hindu ,it will not remain in same,it will change according to the era and time..but the scriptures will remain the same as for history...Without knowing this truth ,everytime you have made a false speech in front of audience by saying the highest testament of Hindu is Veda and its divided to shurti and smirti, Everything of Hindus is the highest cox its a contribution of all ethnics culture and religions...Example the media saying that the world is now in the fear of Covid 19, is that true? Hinduism is a way of living. Hinduism is science. We don't criticize other religion because,for us if you believe and there's God. Scriptures and veda were tools to educate human beings the way to live. Mantras we say it 108 times, because the distance between sun and world is 108 times of world and same goes to the distance between moon and earth which takes 108 times size of moon. The word 'Aum' we say is the first ever sound recorded in sun. Nasa proved it. We value nature, we respect them as God. The founder of Hinduism is not discovered bcoz it is very old and some scriptures are hard to be translated. The point of magnetic equator or world is in a temple where the statue of Nadarajan is. Hinduism is beyond human belief and religion. One can only understand if you know who you are first. We spread love. We are not prohibited from entering other religious places like mosque or church. It's not that we worship all kinds. We thank everything. We respect animals and nature. We don't need to prove ourselves. We don't really need to convince people to join our religion. We believe what we believe. Everything is karma at the end
Hindu philosophy can be embodied by the saying 'Truth is one but paths are many'. God is only one and is the ONE universal, omnipresent superconscious SOUL but manifestations of this soul are many. The limited finite mind of humans cannot comprehend this ONE infinite superconsciousness. So, naturally there will be different concepts of the infinite by different limited, finite minds.
All are therefore worshipping the same ONE infinite entity, but may have different concepts and different approaches towards this infinite entity according to their stage of intellect and understanding.
Worship of the infinite can be either with form or without form just like we ourselves are both with form (our body) and also without form(our soul) but are the same being.
All of the universe emanated from the same source of superconsciousness(God) and ultimately all of reality will one day dissolve back into the same superconsciousness. Think of supernovas how stars come into existence from nothingness and of black-holes where galaxies and stars get sucked into nothingness. This cosmic cycle repeats endlessly. The universe therefore exists from cosmic cycle to cosmic cycle. From nothingness to nothingness, as what Quantum Physics also says today. One day, billions of years from now, our galaxy will also dissolve into nothingness this way. Creation and dissolution are constantly taking place in the universe. In fact, Hindu sages say we are in the 84th cosmic cycle now.
All souls have a spark of the same superconsciousness in the core or nucleus of the soul(Paramatma) proving that all souls are lovingly being guided towards him by taking on different material bodies, experiencing the temporal nature of matter, realizing and gradually evolving on the spiritual plane towards seeking permanent bliss through merger with the infinite superconsciousness.
ONE TO MANY AND MANY TO ONE. This is the basis of Hinduism. Love all. Serve all.

@@thestoryteller9327 the manifestations of God do not have no soul. most Hindus don't worship multiple dieties at once but rather a diety of choice. in the Bhagavad Gita Krishna advises worshipping him solely as that is equivalant to worshipping all the dieties at once. there is a concept in Hinduism known as Bhakti which cannot exactly be translated to English but is close to devotion. devotion to any manifestation of God through Bhakti is equivalant to worshipping God as a whole because you are showing that manifestation enough Bhakti for God. worshipping God with a form is also allowed as God has a form and is without a form at the same time. it is recommended in Sanatan Dharma to worship Saguna Brahman and then Nirguna Brahman.

So see how many pratimas of Supreme. How come your scholar did not read these verses from the same Shwetashwatara upanishad.
