@@LauzaAndMichael After watching your videos, my wife and I are planning on visiting Madeira as soon as Portugal is open for US residents. We’ll be checking out the island for retirement purposes as we love to hike and enjoy the nature aspect of the island. We’ll see.
I’m a simple man, I see a Lauza & Michael upload, I click. Loved watching this walk/hike, it was actually quite immersive. Also love the new background music. That prickly plant you get all over Europe is commonly referred to as gorse, and the other “massagey ” one is broom. Thanks for the upload and keep up the good work!
I Michael/Lauza. Now that the hot weather time is approaching, make sure that you take Sunscreen with you, water, although there's plenty falling around you, but you never no, it might make you sick, in the past was ok, but this days, with so many people walking around, you never no.
As people said before the prickly is Common Gorse and the one with the tiny leaves without thorns is Broom Cytisus Scoparius, both have yellow flowers although a cultivated broom can also have yellow/ red flowers. Great video
Hello Michael and Lauza ,great to see the hike you did and I felt the pain of the" Gorse" bushes on your legs ..I thought Michael would have found a trail with a coffee bar somewhere 😁.Nice to see you both again . Paul
That’s carqueja 🤣🤣 makes a very nice tea 🫖 very nutritional and with healing properties. Must say you guys are very brave to walk through. Thank you for sharing God bless
Another great video and you really made us laugh at the end. Pleased to hear the knees are holding up too. I would imagine that those sharp bushes are some sort of gorse which we have here in Surrey. Some amazing views on that hike, one we will definitely do but only when wearing long trousers 😂 thank you for sharing again.
So much carqueja 😊I have been looking for this plant here where I live, no success 😞this plant is very nutritious and medicinal Praise God for His Goodness Thanks 🙏
I’m starting to save your hiking videos so many I want to do, hopefully I can get back to Madeira at end of may, have you seen more tourists coming to Madeira and more hotel open or have you still got the island to yourself
Looks like more tourists are coming. Ladies from the rental car company mentioned that a few groups were coming from Lithuania, Poland and Czech Republic. (that's what we see in Ribeira Brava)
Oof you went through a sea of "carqueja" (Ulex europaeus) 😂 the other "friendly" green bush is called scotch broom (Cytisus scoparius) or as we call it here "giesta". Michael needs to take a machete next time 😅 damm that day was perfect to go to Pico Ruivo...
we absolutely loved this video, and all the videos you do. Thank you for giving a realistic view of beautiful Madeira!
Funny video. “Sauna, shower, and massage - all in one!”. We really enjoy your videos. Keep up the good work.
Glad you like them!

Another great trek! The spikes plants are called gorse or in Ireland they are called Whin bushes, on a hot day they have an amazing smell of coconut!
Oh cool!

@@LauzaAndMichael no problem!
That looked so nice! We still have snow here in Lapland and only around 5 degrees C in the daytime.
oh, wow
+5C during the day, pretty cold 🥶
We can't really complain with +15C in the mountains 🙈
@@LauzaAndMichael Finns start wearing summer clothes when the temperature reaches around 15 degrees :D
The common name for the beautiful, prickly, yellow shrub is - gorse.
