- In this episode we visit "Fajã dos Padres", which is a small piece of land, at the bottom of a cliff approximately 250 meters high, located in the southern coast of Madeira.
The only way to get there is by cable car or via boat.
It's not very popular, which makes it even more special.
The climate of "Fajã dos Padres" is distinct due to it's location and surrounding, which allows it to foster the development of exotic cultures.
We are enjoying a walk through the organic farm and eat locally grown food at its only restaurant.

I miss it soo much , we were fortunate to be there in late January and February 2020 and had a great time as usual !!.
Something you might like when times are back to normal is the Carnival in February sometime , which is Fantastic , we saw it about 3 years ago and the New years eve Fireworks is very very special ,great excitement !!🥂.

We are in love with Madeira Island, that's right 😄
With the pandemic situation we've decided to stay here at least till spring, so hopefully we will see the Carnaval in February (if it's going to happen). We also heard that Christmas and New Year is spectacular here, although it might be different than usual this year with pandemic restrictions in place. But we will enjoy and for sure capture whatever version of these wonderful events will take place this and next year. We'll just take it as it comes, with lots of gratitude & love ❤️

Many thanks for your reply ,sitting in the fog of Suffolk in England today and Freezing temperature too thinking of Madeira .
I could see by the Madeira web cams that Christmas lights are going up ,such a special place to be at this time of year !! as you both will see .
Now you are staying on until spring time you will be able to enjoy all the activities of the Carnival before the actual night time Parade .
I have a liking to the coffee shops too as you both do as I see in you video , there's one thing you cannot get in Madeira ..... A bad cup of Coffee !!¡! 😁.

Before the cable car was installed, the only way you could visit faja dos padres was by boat only... i was there in the august 2020 went via boat however didnt get chance to eat at the restaurant as it was fully booked. Watching your video now i will definatly be reserving a table for my next trip. Thank you xxx
We might take a boat there too next time, and spend more more time enjoying the water ... after enjoying some food at the restaurant of course ;-)
