SICK! And thank you! We bought a house with a jetted tub and I hate it so much and worry about the creepy crawlies so I just use it as a laundry hamper for dirty towels. Now I’ll clean it and never use it again!
I thought I would have to get someone to clean my jetted tub, but you have just saved me some money! I have learned so much about different products and your videos are excellent. I appreciate all you teach us! Wish you and your wife were in my area! :-)
Thank you for this. I had no idea the jet covers unscrewed like that. I knew about the wanted inlet filter coming off. But had no clue about the jets. Thanks again.
The video was very helpful and the info about the product was definitley beneficial.. The delivery was low key and entertaining. Keep up the good work!
Thank You for the bleach tip. There is one thing that you didn't mention in the video. That's the round filter thing, next to the jets. Does that also unscrew counter clock-wise to remove and replace or it a pop on and off? What is that thing called?
I’ve used every cleaning product that I have on hand and also cleaned the Jets and the filter! I’ve used a whole gallon of bleach, a whole gallon of vinegar, laundry detergent, Dawn dish soap, Krud Kutter and Super Clean. I have Cleaned several times in two day’s with hot water and let it run each time for 45 minutes. Every time I think it’s clean, it’s not. I fill it up after cleaning and rinsing, fill it up and turn it on and I’m still getting this green/yellow ring around the tub. I’m now trying Cascade dishwasher powder. If this doesn’t work I will try the product your using. Thank You!
Clean With Confidence Well the Cascade failed and all of the other attempts haven’t worked, still getting the green/yellow ring around the tub. I will still buy the product you recommend to get it real clean. I think it’s time to change the anode rod in the hot water heater and disinfect/chlorinate it when I have it apart, it could be coming from there because sometimes that will happen. Thank You for your great video! 👍🏻👍🏻
@@CleanWithConfidence I have been unable to get 2 of the 6 jet caps off. Any ideas other than the rubber mat you showed us? I've had trouble finding one at the store, and I'd rather not have to wait on an online order to be shipped. Of course, I will if I must!

We just moved into a house with a jetted tub. The owner left some Ahh-Some cleaner but it says to turn on the air intake control. Can you give a bit more information about that? Thanks for mentioning about mixing bleach with other products. It can be a very dangerous thing to do. Can you point out the different knobs and explain what they do? Thank you. You did an awesome job.
Thank you for this video! I just moved into a house that has a jacuzzi tub and it was DISGUSTING. Have any recommendations for hard water buildup on/in the jets?
THANK YOU FOR POINTING OUT NOT TO MIX BLEACH. It’s sad when people don’t realize the dangerous chemical reactions they’re capable of making at home until it’s too late.
Hot water will always be more effective in removing bio films (and general dirt / sediment buildup) it helps to soften the organic material allowing more cleaner / biocide to penatrate the film enhancing removal. I am an engineer for water treatment chemical company and we periodically do equipment cleanings on large industrial systems to clean biological fouling such as heat exchangers and cooling towers, cleaning procedures always call for use of hot water when feasible.
Ok no matter what I do the water when the jets are on splashes our tha tub into the floor and on the walls ! I don’t use the jets but I take a bath and they are needing to be cleaned . I am lost now because I can’t just run this for even a minute with out a heck of a mess
I bought a house with one of these older model Kohler tubes. I haven't used it much in the past year and I noticed the filter gets moldy looking after about two weeks. Cleaning ladies bleach it, but since the filter cover doesn't come off, I guess it builds up. Just ran a cycle of Simple Green through it (before I found your channel). No real yuck came out, thankfully, but the filter cover still has some mold on it. Urgh. Cleaning ladies coming tomorrow. Wondering if I should just keep the jets closed from now on. I don't think I should be using it as a tub anymore. :-(
My jetted tub was on well water for a good 10 years. We have city water now. The jets are stained orange. I cannot get them to unscrew. I am interested in trying this product. However, these jets are so gross I feel I should use the entire bottle! Maybe 2 or 3 initial cleanings in a row? What do you think? Also, what would you recommend to get the orange off? I have ran lime away through it a few times. It did get a lot of junk out, but I feel it is never ending!
Thank you so much! Can't wait to clean my jacuzzi tub! I have about 10-8 jets in mine but they don't have the cover around them like yours. And mine actually look a little orange- ish. Should I use the cleaning bubbles and toothbrush to get them nice and clean? Thank you!
ok well to get the jets cleaned and sanitized yes use the bubbles and a toothbrush. As far as the stains are concerned without me actually seeing the jets you can try to use Bar Keepers Friend powder with a toothbrush and try to scrub those stains away. Thanks for watching!
@@CleanWithConfidence Thanks for the note of confidence. On another matter (ahem), do you know of a way to TEMPORARILY block up a hot tub so you don't risk getting epsom salts, soap, etc. into the inner workings? Did loads of research on this to no avail.
Is white distilled vinegar ok to use ? not too acidic for the gasket? also liquid dish detergent can be used right? or powder, both are not acidic. How often to clean it? thanks (clorox toilet bowl can't use that right)
Basically, my channel is dedicated to the best most effective cleaning methods. I recommend the Oh Yuk because it is the most effective way to get this job done. You can still use dish detergent, it just doesnt work as well as the Oh Yuk. I don't recommend vinegar or Clorox Toilet Bowl Ring.
@@CleanWithConfidence okay the thing with liquid dish detergent (like this person was asking), is your tub is going to have massive amounts of bubbles, taking over your bathroom...from running the jets. Learned that lesson after I first got mine.
Hi there! The Jets in my whirlpool tub have WAY too much power! They shot all over the bathroom! We only have a timer on the wall and aren't sure how to remedy this. Recently moved in. Any tips?
Personally, I am no Whirlpool professional. If it were me I would just make sure the jets are pointed down and of course not turn them on until tub is full. If that doesn't work you will probably have to call a local handyman to check it out for you. :)
The outer housing ring on the jets on my Kohler tub will rotate to control the power of the jet. You can try rotating the outer housing of the ring-it may control the power of the water flow coming out of your jets-good luck!
You should be wearing gloves when touching any cleaning products and maybe even a face mask too. Cleaning product ingredients typically have the worst known side effects for our respiratory systems including nasal passages and can impact our vocal chords as well as our lungs. Mold is some scary stuff to deal with too. Thank you for your video and links though. I'm eager to discover what the ingredients are in the liquid you used.
I just bought a home in foreclosure and the jetted tub is disgusting. I’m thinking if the jets in your video were that black and nasty after running a cycle, wouldn’t it be just as gross in all the joints and angles of all the piping underneath?!
The pipes are formed around the tub. From the pump to the jet is generally one piece. So there isn't a place for it to accumulate until the water passes through the jets. Hope this helps. Take care.
