    1:28 what i like in this exercice is that by giving this extra space you can clearly ear in his voice that he's also running through passagio with ease without distording the vowel

    Just by trying what he says on this video I feel more comfortable hitting B5. Now I will practice more until I reach C5, I’m glad I found this channel!!!

      Thank you for your message, and I'm thrilled to hear that my video has helped you become more comfortable hitting high notes! As a Maestro of the Old School of singing, I believe that with proper technique and practice, any singer can achieve their full vocal potential.
      It's great to hear that you're already seeing progress and feeling more confident in your high note singing. Keep up the good work and continue to practice regularly, and I'm sure you'll reach your goal of hitting C5 in no time. Thank you for your support, and keep singing!

    Maestro ! Thank you for your videos ! Can this technique be used for any style of singing other than opera?

    • @giancarlomonsalve
      @giancarlomonsalve  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you for your question! The fundamentals of vocal emission remain the same across all styles because they are rooted in human nature. However, the approach slightly adapts to suit the specific needs of different genres. I actually have students who are not only opera singers but also rock and crossover singers, many of whom perform with significant companies. That said, my main students are professional opera singers and up-and-coming talents in the opera world.

    Is this one of those essential things that we cannot see at first glance on great singers?
    I've tried it and felt more space in the zone.
    Thanks

    How to open pharynx? Is it about having the sense of yawning, vowel modification or having back space in the mouth cavity?

    Thanks so much Giancarlo ! May I suggest that whenever you give proper demonstration, can you do the extreme OPPOSITE of what should be ideally done ? I find that knowing what is (really) wrong usually helps me see better what is the proper approach, no matter the issue.

    How do you do that while singing? Does that come when the muscles are strengthened? Thank you!

    • @Nihl3375
      @Nihl3375 2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Well if you start thinking about it and developp this feeling of oppening inside whatever the note , the intensity etc it will comes naturaly after hours of practice. I'm into it at this moment because i used to sing whith a high larynx and distorded vowels and what helps me is to think a little cought that oppen my throath just before attacking the note !
      Good Luck with your practice ☺️

    Wonderful piece of advance, plus presentation! Just a question. When you make your neck muscles like that, what is happening with your breathe? Do you just exhale rapidly (and the opening of your neck muscles happen by itself), or you exhale rapidly plus opening your neck in a specific way? Thank you!

    • @giancarlomonsalve
      @giancarlomonsalve  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Thank you for your kind words and your question! To answer your question, the opening of the neck muscles and the pharyngeal expansion is a result of a specific way of exhaling. It's not just about exhaling rapidly, but rather about creating a steady, controlled flow of air while keeping the larynx low and the pharynx open. This requires a certain amount of breath support and muscular coordination, which can be developed through vocal exercises and training. So, to achieve laryngeal and pharyngeal expansion, it's important to focus on developing good breath support and control, as well as learning the correct technique for keeping the larynx low and the pharynx open.

      Logic: Pitching is a fundamental aspect of singing and music as a whole. It refers to the ability to accurately hit and maintain a specific note or series of notes, and is essential for creating a cohesive and harmonious musical experience.
      Without proper pitching, a singer's performance can sound off-key or dissonant, which can be distracting or unpleasant for the listener. Additionally, accurate pitching is often required for singing in harmony with other musicians or instruments, as well as for creating dynamic and emotionally expressive performances.
      In short, pitching is a critical component of singing and music, and mastering it is essential for any aspiring singer who wants to create a polished and professional sound.

    i can kinda do it, but this exercise gives me hiccups and i have to stop

    • @giancarlomonsalve
      @giancarlomonsalve  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hiccups can sometimes happen when engaging muscles related to breathing or the diaphragm. Since this exercise focuses on expanding the pharynx, you might be unintentionally engaging the diaphragm too forcefully. Try to focus on the feeling of expansion around the throat and pharyngeal area instead of pushing from the diaphragm. If it persists, take it slow, and your body will adapt over time. Keep practicing!
