Thanks for making this; I have used it myself and was watching to see how you set it up by yourself because last time I set it up with friends and this next time I'll have to set it up myself.
Last time I used it, it was at a bluegrass music festival and we got rained on hard enough that the local fire marshall did a drive through to see if we needed to evacuate! So it was many hours heavy, heavy rain and sustained high winds. Many campsites were flooded, some ponding was feet deep. A road through the festival grounds was flooded enough to be impassable. I was sure this tent would be blown away, or soaked inside, but it actually stood firm and totally dry! The little metal tent pegs actually held on. I was honestly so impressed!

Mine actually withstood a wicked rain/wind storm in the Black Hills. It was standing up straight in the morning, however during the storm, the wind blew the sides in over me, so I had to move my cot away from that side... So it's flexible. But .. still stood the rest of the trip and NO water inside. I just love this tent and it's roominess and ease to assemble and I can stand up straight in it!

I cussed a lot when trying to put the rainfly on in the wind at night and ended up sleeping in my car and let it just get rained on. The next morning in the daylight and when the winds died down I could see what I was doing it's actually a super nice tent. Been happy with it so far, came here to see if you have a technique other than the way I've set mine up so far.
Awesome question as I had the same issue this weekend. The only thing I can say is to try to have the wind at your back when starting. That way it will blow the rainfly towards the tent. It makes it a bit more controllable. Brock my camping partner says to ball the rainfly with one corner accessible, attach and secure one corner bungee and the first velcro strap onto the tent pole, then let out enough to make it to the next corner and work your way around securing the bungee and first strap Then secure the inner straps by unzipping the fly and reaching up between the two then rezip. And going under the front awning to get the front fly straps hope this helps thank you for the awesome question and thank you for all that you do

Got this tent. For car camping in weather that is nice or light rain, this will do and do well. Condensation is a non-factor in this tent. In winds or heavy rain though, this isn 't the tent for that, the wind will tear it up as I discovered. 6 man of course really means 4 man at most, just like 4 man tents are 2 man tents, and 2 man tents are 1 man tents.
If all your doing is sleeping in it and want shelter you can easily fit the recommended amount of people laying down next to eachother. That’s why they advertise the amount 😅 but if u make a small living room out of it yea ur gunna fit less people it says it fits for sure

i was thinking that doggie door thing would be a great exit exhaust/intake hole for one of those AC units that stand up inside of a house with a hose that goes out a window,have a great day

HOW about doing a test and review on the D D Ultralite tarp and would you please water test it in a thunder storm or heavy rain ???
I bought this tent for $30 from walmart today (open item). Bought it because of the 6' dome coz I like to stand up inside it and have room besides the mattress. I just compared this with the Coleman at Costco (6 person, 99$) and that has 5.5' center height and 10x9 dimension so I am happy with my purchase. I hope it has everything included to set it up properly (open item). Nice review but you could have covered the pockets and interior :)

Held Up to 50-70 MPH gusts. It Held up! Flooring could be Better. Put a blanket down. Overall Excellent. Purchase Good Tent stakes , Amazon 8 Pack Heavy Duty Steel 12 inch Pegs they never pugged. Very nice Taped Rain Fly. Silicone every Year. In the winds it flexed up to 12 Plus inches Poles did not break, It was bad but the Tent held. 7500 FT on top a Mountain in Southern CA.

@@InTheFieldWithSarge Yes Sarge I have Shipping Blankets Also. I am A Marine. AKA WOLF. Army Combat Engineer Also Out Now. I have had Tents Fail and its not Fun. This Tent is Rockin but the Floor could be Better, I Improvise and Adapt. I have others Coleman 10 Person Coleman, it would not have made it, to much flat headwall. Fits 4 comfortable with 4 Amazon KingChii Certiplus-US Full Memory Foam. And room for a Little Buddy Heater and Tank, Plenty of Ventilation, Never smelled Propane and Monitor did not go off. I cannot take the cold as I used to. 46 Degrees overnight then the windchill. No Generator use Rockpals 200 Watt Solar Panel, Rockpals 1300 watt Solar Power Station. They Rock! ( Amazon ) and Backup Li Time 12V 100AH That can charge into the RockPal 1300.
Plenty of Power. 200 Watt Solar Panel is 200 Watt sometimes goes Over 200 Watts. Main thing was the Tent, Plan to get another, Had this one for years but but not in these Harsh Conditions. Will try to send ya pics. But can send ya my E-Mail to get acquainted.

@InTheFieldWithSarge we just camped on Thursday 01/18/24 and Friday 01/19/24 with the Ozark Trail 3 person dome tent. Felt it was a bit small for the two of us, so this one should be good!
@InTheFieldWithSarge hello! Update. Used the 6 person tent from 02/10/24 and left the campsite on 02/12/24. Perfect size for the two of us. Able to fit a queen sized air mattress and left plenty room for a small table to play board games in the evening. Kept the cold air out in the Saddleback Butte State Park campground in California. 40f was good but 30f around 2‐3am was when we felt it.

I have this tent and it's only appears to be 6, 5 deep and not 8, 6 is there something I'm missing about it or is the dimension actually wrong in mine/ all of them
Dimensions are usually measured at the floor for length and width. This is done as most tents have angled sides. It's not a wall tent so for this tent all sides are angled inward. As far as sleeping 6 adults as with all tents is a very tight squeeze. I hope this helps

@@seankoenigs21 it might be look at the spec sheet in the bag and see if your measurements match theirs. If it's off I'd definitely contact ozark
@@InTheFieldWithSarge ok I have not truly measured it yet but I am about 6, 2-3 and laid down in it and I almost reached the other end maybe a couple inches away I will have to measure it for sure
I can fit 2 queen sized air mattresses in mine. I think maybe you got a 4 man instead of 6
