I am a non Kanada immigrant to Bangalore .... my observation is it is not because of Kanada Pride it is purely because of Hindi Stubbornness and arrogance of a feeling that Hindi is National Language (which is not true) Kanada pride is sprouting out, otherwise one of the nicest people are Kannadigas ...

@@Rahulcj6234 i beg to differ. Its not because of that. Its just a way to make others insecure and trying to show thats its our place and you dont belong here. This need to be changed. While people should put efforts to learn it should not be imposed. Every indian has right to live anywhere in India.

@@amitm2008 are all North Indians respectful to kannadigas ? You have never come across a north Indian who makes fun of a kannadiga's accent, eating habits, skin colour, clothes or looks ? Do you really think all North Indians treat kannadigas as equals ? Don't they think them to be as second class citizens ? Is insecurity the only reason as you say or a reaction to rude people ? Some times we have to self reflect on our own communities instead of blaming . While learning the language obviously takes time but giving respect doesn't require much time, right ? I feel it's a tit for tat situation. Rude people on either sides give rise to more rude people and make it a hell hole for everyone else. I assume you were respectful and nice , but still the person was rude to you and said you don't belong here, may be he was at the receiving end of a north Indian's rudeness some other time and he assumed you would be the same. Next time may be try to break the stereotype and be nice instead , forcing them to think not all North Indians are same , just like not all kannadigas are same.

Very surprising. Am from Hyderabad and have known Kannadigas to be most affable & accommodative. When you settle in a place for a few years; why refuse to respect the local culture and language. I have been visiting bangalore since 20 years. I have always managed with Hindi. I believe it's the attitude of the people who say " why don't you learn Hindi, Hindi is our national language " is spoiling the city for every one. Whenever I talk of bangalore I not only talk of the climate but also about how good, helpful and disciplined the kannada people are. I am surprised How fast people have forgotten how the north indian people were trashed , their taxis damaged in Mumbai. Raj thakeray's interviews are still there on social media. It's still in limits in karnataka.

Iam in Bangalore for past 13 years now. I have put efforts in learning and I can understand Kannada but struggle to speak fluently. I have faced few instances related to speaking Kannada. This is mostly by auto drivers and people in buses. Never heard anywhere else. This is politically motivated for sure. Also auto drivers here are always ready to argue or fight and this is one common approach for them as soon as they know that person cant speak kannada they will start asking to speak in kannada.. So I try to avoid as much as possible.

It is a well known fact that our brothers from North never speak any other language. The locals are helpless and unwillingly speak in Hindi . Now if a person in UP, MP, Bihar had to speak some other language other than Hindi in his own state . How will he feel. Try to understand guys and learn the local language. Non hindi states which have accepted Hindi are slowly but surely endangering their mother tongue. Or Northies saying- We built Blore🤣
Trust me both the lot are idiotic
Local businesses are still in hands of localites which get benefitted by immigrants & Blore pays the highest salary so it's basically a symbiotic relationship between localites & immigrants & whatever Chauvinism that gets highlighted is just exception particularly by rowdy auto drivers cuz they are foot soldiers of KRV (The party which fuels this)
In case Immigrants move away (Which will never happen) Blore won't die but it won't grow at the rate that it's growing today.
Kannada is spoken only by 42% People here as per 2011 census which will dip down further in the next census & no1 speaks Kannada in Blore east (Whitefield & nearby areas)
And to learn basic Kannada is a matter of few weeks, i hardly took 2-3 weeks to learn that, so it won't harm to learn that language which even Maliyalees, Tamilians too avoid

If you think people are leaving, please check the stats for this year, Bangalore had its best year in its history, biggest growth yet, real estate 21.7 msqft, combine 2+3+4 position cities in IT and still cant match bangalore in software exports, we are just sick of people who come here and disrespect the language and culture, and act like they built bangalore, OH and those airforce bases present since before independence, same with the PSU's which were nationalized.

I leave in Bangalore, its not good to discriminate anyone based on caste , religion or language.but one thing all need to understand that its basically frustration of bangalorian from north indians.it could be many reasons like character wise ,population increased in Bangalore, traffic increased.so its a frustration and plus politics also involved in this

These actors are just talk shops, they will do anything and everything to attract large audience.
Its simple a South Indian if staying in Uttarakhand, should learn local language for his/her ease of convenience with locals.
Like wise if staying in Delhi should learn hindi.
If I'm speaking in english or hindi in a state like Karnataka, Tamil Nadu or Kerala most of the locals are not used to these language.
Let's say if you get a job in France, will you still go and speak in Hindi, Kannada, Tamil etc with locals?
You'll have to learn basic french to ease your life as you have no other choice.
India is a known for its diversity, every language, culture, religion, place has its own beauty.
If one set of people think they are superior over others, they are bound to face consequences.

Hindi or Urdu both are Apabhramsa languages. Both are same except Urdu has more influence of Arabic or Pharsi. Did Gandhi had guts to dream of having Samskruta as a link language ? Samskruta can culturally unite India but Hindi cannot.
