Your landscape is so nice. It’s like here in Vermont, USA. I use to be full of farms. There still are but not as many as when I was a kid and young adult. How is Jock after his operation. He’s quite spry running and jumping around. He says he has new shoes. He’s so cute. Angus will be talking away soon as well. Jock is helping. Such a nice day to all the family being out together❤️🥰👍. That’s quite the equipment you and your friend put together. Such a lovely view from the sky of your sheep and views🥰👍 you have a nice evening. And we ll see you next time👍👋
The drone footage was stunning, with the long shadows, velvet undulating pastures, beautiful sheep and lambs, and our hero speeding through it all in the buggy. Love seeing the whole family out in the sunshine. Your friend must have had an awesome day. Get some sleep while you can. Those ewes are going to start pushing any day now! Love you all.❤
the lamb conveyor construction had me screaming laughing, it reminded me of an 80's ad for a cot, "so simple a man can put it together without instructions in only twice the time it takes a woman with the instructions and a bottle of wine!" lmao
Something to do with the eternally wet spring with their feet constantly in the wet. We brought a mountain animal down to the lowlands. Their feet like well drained ground.
The drone footage, particularly in the 'golden hour' was such a treat! Thank you, Al! Lovely seeing Lizzie looking so well & Jock & Angus & your mom & the dogs! 💕💕
Got a laugh at Angus sitting in the tool box and then Jock tossing the socket away. Must have taken awhile to collect and put all the tools away. Good fun. Kids had a blast. Als is still thinking, why didn't we use the instructions.
Hey, Al Cousins! A few months ago I bought your sheep breeds poster from The Sheep Game. It was exciting to anticipate its travel from Scotland to my home in California, and I thought that would be the big treat. I was wrong. The poster was so beautifully and safely packed in its very strong tube. I was impressed. Then…then…I opened it and unfurled the roll. My fingers tingled with glee at the feel of that premium paper. My eyes danced at the gorgeous colors and the fine printing. And the artwork itself was absolutely delightful. I would never have thought a collection of breed drawings could be such a wonderful experience. But it is. You know how to create something of exceptional quality and whimsy. I’m such a fan now that I’m thinking of buying Meg’s portrait next. And, I’ve got my eye on a couple other pieces on your website. Good job hooking up with Al, Cammy. Thanks guys! ❤
From Google; Yes, soil pH can affect sheep feet. Sheep that graze on rocky, dry ground will wear their feet more naturally. Soil type, pH, and moisture levels can also affect sheep feet. For example, acid or low pH soil that is wet can affect lambs in wet summers.
Alz Couzens ... so glad you had him on this one with his name on his vest. I thought you and Ben from Dalscone Farm were saying Al's cousin 🤣. I've definitely never heard his name in the US, but I've seen some of his work and it's bloody brilliant 😍. Loved the drone footage as well! Keep on sheeping on Cammy ❤
Actually, Cammy, yes, Ph in the ground can affect lameness in sheep. I'd call the vet or feed provider about what to do about it, maybe even CrystalX has a nutritionist who can suggest a solution through feeding the sheep some minerals or somesuch to help them be less affected by the ground they graze on. And maybe ask Graeme P about if sheep can get Digital Dermititis? That ewe's hoof looked similar to how cows present the nasty stuff.
I had similar thoughts - both on asking the Hoof GP, and contacting Crystalyx on what’s happening. With all the rain though, I think the rain and mud might be the main problem. ❤️🐑
Love the drone footage, just beautiful land all dotted with sheep! Another awesome video! Hopefully the sheep will lamb before your new wee one comes!💕🇨🇦
Great aerial shots over the hills and fields with the sheep dotted around. The lakes at the gates are drying up and all is turning green. Jock is back to his old self and running around. Take this slack time to catch up on your rest before the next big lambing push.
@@maranaomi9531 what is wrong with them? Do they like things to be more difficult than necessary. Also, Jock throwing that ratchet nut driver was epic toddler on brand.
Next time leave it to Jock and Angus to assemble your gear they would have done it in half the time 😂😂 Loved the video especially the beautiful drone shots. Lizzie you are looking fabulous.
Oh the drone footage was just amazing! So nice to see Lizzie and the boys! Everyday I wait to see what the day brings in your daily routine. Rest and sleep when you can! 😊
Loved the shots of you and Spot on the bike.. Spot getting his much earned lovies! Gorgeous drone shots! I know sooo quiet.. but a good thing! Again .. Jock not slowed down by his injury LOL Thanks for sharing! Love from the USA!
I always love your videos! So glad that you are having some beautiful weather. The drone footage, along with the music, was amazing! Thank you for sharing what you do.
Nothings better than the blind leading the blind when assessing something without reading instructions!! But, let you off as those drone shots at the end were suberb.
Thanks once again Cammy for a super blog…..the sky was blue and the colours of the evening sun going down! Glorious. Pleased to see mum has been let out of the lambies’ pen! I had some chuckles watching the construction take place too. Angus is growing up soooo fast. New jumper is in the wash as I write! ❤️🇦🇺🏴
Our son in Arizona, USA is married to wonderful Navajo woman. Now that she is retired, and he has his own business doing civil engineering , they live full time on the reservation. He built them a nice home on property that was inherited from her mom. They have sheep, cattle, chickens and horses. Very small scale. I have got him started watching you, and he enjoys seeing your ewes lambing. His ewes just finished lambing. So a big hello from California and Arizona!
Do you think because of the extreme wet weather..that it could be a reason for the lameness? Another fine video Cammy!! Lizzy is looking radiant, what a great mom she is!! Bet you can't wait for the new baby!! The boys need a little sister to take care of!!
Do you think the foot issues could be down to how wet the fields are it seems like a lot of surface water on the them maybe standing in it for so long ??? I’m not a farmer so just guessing. Lizzie is looking well she is a super mom bless her it’s always tiring towards the end pregnancy ❤
Your wife has her hands full with one more coming. Imagine lambing year round and that’s how having three children under three can be. I hope she has a mom or sister to help. ❤
I know about horses, not sheep.... but sugars in the grass (fructan in particular) can cause inflammation in a horses hooves leading to lameness (laminitis). Not sure if the same thing can happen to sheep.🤷♀️
Loved the drone footage, it also shows how muddy the ground is from so much rain. Glad its drying up a bit. Hi to Lizzie, n the boys growing like weeds.
🤣🤣Putting together the lamb "sorter" reminds me of my sister assembling IKEA furniture - she never looked @ the instructions until she was totally lost! 😄💕💕
Lovely editing this video of scenic shoots. In Australia the land is high in Iron but low in Zinc and Copper which compete for absorption in the gut. So our pasture is deficient, along with low iodine, selenium and sometimes cobalt you get poor hoof horn and coat development. Supplementation with appropriate minerals based on pasture testing (importantly not the soil because they don't eat soil) is the best way to keep horses and cattle in fine fettle (and I presume sheep).
haha. The kids are always challenging each other to touch the fence. Lets see you do it in your bare feet. That's what the sheep are getting, and the kids always get to where they are hollering when they work their way to barefoot challenges with the fence. Absolutely hilarious.
Nice to see Al again. Hi, Al! Great job on the drone footage edit. Touching the electric fence is definitely a right of passage for every rural kid. I know I did it. Lol i thought you already had a lamb slide - Not sure what you call that thing. Oh, it's called a lamb docking and tailing chute (I checked the Te Pari website).
Cammy didn't you have one of them things that you built for the lambs last year? As I'm sure I've seen this before was a bit of déjà vu! Thank you for the daily vlog I have really enjoy them, but can imagine it's been a bit stressful with everything else you have to do! Lizzy is big now isn't she, I bet she can't wait to give birth as the last month or 2 feels like it drags, wish you both so much luck, much love ❤😊
🤣🤣🤣...love that first ewe...."Successful sneak attack"....ewe: "Ya mad bastard!" (Attempted boot to the jaw) I'm waiting for your imitation of a rugby player tackling an opponent, complete with grunts and such, when catching a sheep! 😂😂😂
I wonder if the poor feet have anything to do with the water in the field and it being more wet causes their hooves to get softened and tear away? Or soften it so much that more infection that are sitting on the field get spread around it more
If you are getting foot disease, nearly immediately after putting livestock on new ground, chances are it started where they were before. The stress of the sales barn and transport, weakening their immune system. PH change has a gradual effect. But sheep that show hoof ailments after a few weeks on new ground makes sense to blame the ground. Especially if there were cattle on it.
A boy Cammy another good video 👍. Some people won't pare a lame foot, just spray & inject. I know people who believe you need to cull lame sheep. Growing up on my fathers farm we always pared, spray, inject. Each to their own I suppose. I was waiting for Jock to get a shock off the fence 😂. He's hardy out, it probably wouldn't bother him if he did.
Awww Spotty get some love ❤❤ I thought foot rot was related to bacteria in the soil.🤔 Great to see Als Couzens out at your fields. Absolutely love his portrait of beautiful Fiona. As well as his other pieces of work. Question: what is the big building in the background @ 14:44 ?
Yor english and scottish accent are perfectly understandable to me....i had a scottush chef instructor at culinary school...chef Angus Campbell....wonderful tallented man!!
7:45 have any cows ever been on that piece of property? Also, could anyone have used metacam on their sheep before market, like some nefarious horse owners do (with other types of pain meds)?
I just love seeing the beautiful countryside where you do your sheep farming. Even in the bad weather it is a lovely place! Please keep showing us the Jock Cams and times when you and Lizzie have your kids working with you. It is such a joy to see family working together and children being exposed to learning what their parents’ work is all about. Cammy, I enjoy seeing you and Lizzie working together - you both have such good knowledge and skill in sheep farming! I hope at least one of your children will want to carry on the family business. I have only been to Scotland once. I have a favorite spot - a town called Cromarty. If you have time, could you tell me how far away your home/farm is from Cromarty?? If I can return to Scotland again it would be nice to come visit you! Thank you! Amy Amerine Dublin Ohio USA
love watching Angus out doing his own thing while everyone's focus is on Jock.

One up front the other Rulz the back ! Love them both
Hope you found the socket Jock threw under what you were working on! Your farm is so pretty in the sun Angus is finding his own way …
No doubt another 10mm off to join its missing brethren 😅

Always find it funny when lambs or ewes see the drone and give it a puzzled look….

This was a really, really good video! After I visited Scotland and Ireland, I decided that was where the real Garden of Eden had to have been.
Got a laugh at Angus sitting in the tool box and then Jock tossing the socket away. Must have taken awhile to collect and put all the tools away. Good fun. Kids had a blast. Als is still thinking, why didn't we use the instructions.

Bill is a worldwide nickname for William… along with Billy, Will, Willy and Liam!
" we don't need instructions." famous last words lol Jock with only one wellie on. Too cute!
My three year old helped us put up a fence this morning.... Priceless. They grow too fast
The drone footage was gorgeous....beautiful place you live in when then rain isn't chucking it down. Joc throwing the sockets..whst a rascal.

3 is the hardest number of kids to have! Go for four. Everything comes in even numbers.🤣
How about Six (6) and use the 'Buddy' system. Pair them up...to look after each other. (like the Girl Scouts always did) Haha.
I love spot snuggling ❤

lol men 😂 it’s nice to know men around the world refuse to rtfm
Why do they not?!?
😂😂 I always read the destructions as I like to call them
Good with a crayon…..understatement of the year, just checked the website, bloody brilliant!
I loved from 14:00 on, beautiful drone shots.
I am one of the women screaming read the directions Cammie.

Could the lameness and sore feet be down to the very wet conditions, like a sort of trench foot?
Loved the drone footage, it also shows how muddy the ground is from so much rain. Glad its drying up a bit. Hi to Lizzie, n the boys growing like weeds.
Loved the scenic interlude there Cammy

The land has definitely a lot to do with sore feet one of our rented farms is really bad for sore feet. We did lime it seems to have helped some

I 10000% love that you have a family channel! It’s wonderful to see Lizzie, Jock, & Angus on here! Gorgeous farm, by the way!
With the monoculture of the fields, did the owners use an herbicide that could be caustic to the sheep (ie: roundup)
Unless you get the snip there's a chance of number four child appearing sometime in the future...
Beautiful views when you send up the drone!
I love the drone footage.
I would love to catch such a cute little fish as Jock. ❤️

Bloody good show sir 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Hello Als Couzens! I’ve heard your name mentioned quite a lot on Dalscone Farm’s videos. Nice to put a face with a name.
