I used this order 1. Jade/ Rab 2. Veronica/Serena pep power 3. Erik/Sylvando 4. Hero/Hendrik They were all about level 82, I did it in 25 turns. If you don't eliminate round 2 immediately it can eat up a lot of turns. When I reached the start of round 4 i had 15 turns to spare
My setup:- 1st round Jade/Hendrik- jade use femme fatale twice. Hendrik use gyrfalcon slash twice on middle enemy. 4 moves. 2nd round Veronica/Serena- Ultimate magic burst, 1 move. 3rd round: Erik/Sylvando- Sylvando use oomphlie on Erik. Erik divide then power throw (repeat divide/powe throw twice). Sylv use gold rush. Total 6 moves. 4th round: Hero + Rab, Rab use thwack and heal, Hero use unbridled blade on serpent. Rab whack the manticore and then both use quadraslash and kacrackle. Think I did mine in 19 moves total.
Lol, got all the skills maxed, definitely make things easier. I did this with all my characters around lv 65 and took me several hours to figure out the perfect stat to win. Better to get the best greatsword at low level than when you're maxed
Christian Groff I swear 80% of the music in DQXI is recycled from past DQs. Sugiyama needs to retire already. I blame him being almost 90 for how little new music we got and what we got wasn’t really good to begin with (not to mention him refusing to use orquestrated music).
I did the following at level 70 without perfect gear setups but it took me many tries Rab/Jade. Multifeet + Pearly Gates. 6 turns Serena/Veronica magic burst then elfin elixir. mega magic burst. 3 turns Erik/Sylvando. Erik divide sylvando oomphle. Erik regular attack with two uber falcon blades. sylvando gold rush Luminary/Hendrik. Luminary Gigagash every turn and hendrik unbridled blade/gryfalcon slash zerg one of the big guys Cant remember the rest of the turns but i got unlucky with statuses a lot. Fluked it with one turn less than required haha so clearly not an optimal strat but still works 😂
No problem grats. If i had been 99 and no-lifed the game then most likely any strat i was using would not be suitable for an 80 levelled party. Good thing i was only a few levels behind you.

looks good except that second round strategy doesn't make sense to me. Which pep did u use and how can it be done in three turns when she adds enemies on multiple occasions?
Serena and Veronica has OP pep atk that uses up all their MP does 2-4K damage depending on amount of MP. Veronica's Magic Burst does over 2K Use Serena's turn to restore MP so next turn's Pep move would do 4k damage, guaranteed to finish off everything. Edit: The pep move itself may be enough to finish the round in 1 move. I may have used 2 extra moves.
A bridle(Bride-uhl) is the restraint put on a horse's head so the rider can control its movement. When the blade is unbridled, it is unrestricted on its power. Meaning it's better than using a dumbass basic attack that does like 1/4th the damage.
Crazy how much more work you gotta put in for the best greatsword when for one handed sword you just gotta clear a few dungeon rooms and beat an easy boss you already defeated, albeit with higher stats.
My strat: Be level 90 and have good armor because your not healing during this, and this has a 90% of working so just keep restarting the game until you win (Worked for me atleast) Party 1. Sylv/Rab - Keep spam casting pink and Rab cast pearly gates until every enemy is dead this should have been 10 turns 2. Luminary/Eight - Have eight cast double up and next turn the unbridled blade, have Luminary use his ultimate sword tec to finish off the first octo guy next have eight defend then Luminary spam dark sword attack until all enemy's are dead. this should be atleast up to 19 or 21 turns 3. Erik/Jade - Have Erik cast divine to make clones then use his krit attack to attack the box until it's dead, then have Jade cast revamp and next turn when all the enemy's spawn just spam pink typhoon until Erik has killed all enemy's last enemy just use multitihrust just in case. at this point you will be at 29 4. Veronica/Serena - Just pep them up and cast mega burst and your done.
As an honest criticism I think the tutorial for this guide should be done with characters around level 60. I say that cause your characters are all maxed out so your guide is going to work for no one that isn’t maxed out you know what I mean. If you did a tutorial and gave tips and what not to beat it around 60 or whatever it would help more. Basically this video you have to max characters out, just don’t feel much “guide aspect” hear unless your maxed out too. Again not hating, my guys are around level 63, show me how the hell I can do this at my levels!! Haha
berserker blade, you can buy it after u rebuild cobblestone to rebuild cobblestone you need to take back gondolia by killing all 10 mobs without leaving gondolia or else youll have to reset. then send noah (blue hair near a little girl who is connie, aka his daugther) to cobblestone by talking to him after u beat all mobs Then, you need to head to octagonia and go down under, then you must fight the mma fighters, then you fight the huge spider again, then talk to snowman and under digger to send them over to cobblestone. (also talk to sinderella and her partner for a free outfit for Veronica.) Then, head to cobblestone tor. (the mountain you climbed at beginning of game) you'll find Erik's old friend/partner in crime. Kill the bird who's attacking him, then, talk to him to send him to cobblestone. Finally, go to hekswood and head all the way to the end, you'll have to fight jörum, and the only way to help jörum is to kill him with a electric based attack for example, zap, zapple, i recommend, also recommend being level 60+ for this as its annoying asf. finally, after you beat jörum, talk to him, and send him to cobblestone. finally, head back to cobblestone and the village will be fixed, head to the store of cobblestone, the sword will be there. Hope this helped.
late reply, but you can also get this as a rare drop (with the pep power) shortly after reaching the post-game, just head to the first forest whale point, and look for the Spawny Devil mob...it is their rare drop...much earlier than you are able to rebuild Cobblestone i believe (this is also the area where you can farm shields that each sell for 30k to NPCs)

I'm following the walkthrough on IGN, I dont know if that is the best walkthrough but its been helpful for me. I mostly need it for collecting the mini medals and sidequests because they can be confusing. Is it better to use a sword or greatsword for the Hero? I am dual wielding two falcon blades right now and can make the Wyrmfang if i get more mithril ores around Angri La but one attack for 250 damage vs 4 100+ attacks with dual blades doesnt seem like its better but i'm a noob XD
Christina Turner I'm doing all the post game stuff atm. I have everyone at lv 99. Imo honestly, Erik is probably the most broken character. He has the ability divide which makes 2 clones of himself, he also has critical acclaim which does instant crit and it never misses. Divide and critical acclaim will do crit 3 times in 1 turn. Or divide and falcon slash. The 2 clones also attack twice so essentially he's attacking 6 times in 1 turn. That's pretty busted if you ask me. Plus cast oomphle on him, sap the enemy = big damage. That's also considering the enemy doesn't have disruptive wave which gets rid of any buffs.
I am looking forward to the post game stuff, usually when i end a game its over and i'm not very interested in post game stuff just to kill the final boss 10 seconds faster with the things you get from post game but it can be fun nonetheless and in this game post game stuff looks very fun. I'd like to fight that Calasmos boss, he has a cute and rather bug eyed face but he looks challenging and i love a challenge. In Jrpg's there's always that boss that looks adorable and cute but it can destroy you easily, i noticed that in a lot of Jrpg's lol. And yea Erik with his super saiyan hair is awesome lol. There is always one broken character in an rpg and it seems like hes the one in this game. XD
best loking greatsword in game imo but effects are crappy. It would be better if it got similar effect to heaven's talon [best spear] but instead of hp restored 25% of damage as MP and no light element. Elemental weapons are bad. Well not useless just worse than non elemental.
You talking about tri poker that is unblockable and cannot be parried, yeah i know, but heaven's talon is only 12 damage weaker but heals you for 25% damage done so i would say heaven't talon is still better. also heaven's talon is Jade exclusive and match Xeloran Set apperance. Only drawback is that light element.
This was a terrible guide... so many squandered opportunities by defending. This could have easily been done in 20 moves or less with the characters you had...sheesh
Dude games too easy I wasn't even lvl 50 and I beat the game without best gear I'm kinda upset here's why, games too easy at the final boss my 4 first characters died then the other 3 rested one so 4 again 3 major healers and Erik as main dmg dealer I got wiped again but for some reason 3 on the first party were magically rezzed..........wtf man games too easy and the last area is way too simple and too small dont you guys think? I mean you dknt have to lvl to a 100 not even to 80 , the game is more Interesting than most final fantasy games I played though but make crafting relevant , don't put special recipies in final dungeon what's the point? or make a difficulty setting

The music in the game gets the job done, but it's nothing special.

This Brilliant Blade greatsword would best I equipped to Hendrick it’s perfect for him.
I will aay it's probably better to use paralaxe for hendrik because it has a slightly higher multipier and you can have the best axe at this point.

Why use dual daggers over dual swords for Sylvando?
Dual daggers can set up Erik with Divide to do ridiculous damage in a turn less
Also swords in general are just okay on Sylv imo

What are molten globules used for? I have 3 of them from the metal slimes. I'm kind of new to dragon quest so i dont know much about it or the items
Christina Turner you can use them to create weapons and stuff later on.
I would collect everything, don't sell any equipment as you'll need certain weapons to upgrade them, and talk to everyone.
