Leo represents Baji Quan in Tekken. A fighting style Julia also practises. Leo is purely Baji Quan while Julia is mixed with other fighting styles. So, there are some similarities shared between the moves. Since Julia is not in Tekken 8 yet, some Julia players may be drawn to Leo. Also, it is so funny that Leo's b+1 (1:12) is a very bad version of Julia's f,f+1 (1:13) but that move has a follow up which basically makes the move one of the best Leo moves. Julia's or Leo's version of Baji Quan, one thing is for sure: you can't escape them elbows!
Leo's Bajiquan is full of shit. There's no fancy kicks in Bajiquan and some moves that Leo does are very Piguaquan-esque. The only pure Bajiquan character out there is Akira Yuki.
@@TokyMiku Better than Leo's at least. But also has kicks that don't fit the style. Like her Brazilian kick. Can't recall if she had any other moves besides kicks thay didn't fit Bajiquan very well.
@@MidnightBikerHostilityI agree with you, in Tekken 8, there's some not related to Ba Ji Quan kicks, but elbow strike and shoulder bash is acceptable, I was play Kokoro as main character in DoA, I see Leo technique is kind of female version of Ba Ji Quan like Kokoro, it's obviously look smooth and not as impact attack as Akira - a male version of Ba Ji Quan technique
Leo's take seem to follow the form as perfectly as they can with no nonsense whatsoever, the strikes are very precise and meant to hit with full force while Julia's seem to be floatier, a looser interpretation of the style that has a lot more flow and allows her to move more freely. It feels like Leo followed every single detail their master showed while Julia is so used to it she can just ignore the form to some degree and still be as efficient.
Except for the f1+2 attack, Julia does the most practical version of the move since all you need is triangular footwork to generate power instead of spinning around like a ballerina.
@@jaytheshwatchyomouth5544 I can’t decipher what you meant. But, Julia’s style is a blend of styles so her execution of moves will take influence from the other styles she has learned. While Julia's moveset sort of grew on me over the years, I've never Leo...it's odd that these two characters use the same fighting style as Akira from Virtua Fighter, who is one of my favorite characters in any fighting game, I guess it all depends on how a character is presented and what archetype they fill in a game, to me personally, Paul is a better equivalent to Akira than Julia or Leo, despite practicing a different fighting style that is more akin to Goh's rather than Akira's.
Don't forget Paul, he also have some of Ba Ji Quan moves, and his Ba Ji Quan similar to Akira Yuki in Virtual Fighter, a kind of male version of Ba Ji Quan, more impact attack, stronger and aggressive, Leo and Julia and even Kokoro in DoA, those Ba Ji Quan technique similar to female version, that's why their elbow and shoulder look a little bit smoother and not actually impact as male version
