Note that some combos showcased here are not optimal. Thanks a lot! Never realized it but I was slowly getting frustrated that after commiting to a combo, I was usually in a much worse position, compared to my opponents!
Amazing video. Thank you for taking the time to compile these clips and showing side by side demonstrations to show the difference. Really appreciate this
I'm new at fighting games and I have a lot to learn. All of these informations are too complicated for me right now, but I kept watching until the end since it's a very nice video! (I can imagine the work to make it). Leo is my favorite character from Tekken❤
Hey, Thank you so much :) This info is pretty outdated, if you're looking for new guides on Tekken 8 you should check out ayoritchies channel. He's generally very good at simply explaining the application of certain moves. Or you can watch pro players and try to see why they play the way they do.
@@tehkenfightergames4545 Thank you! I'll check it out. And I think your video is not outdated, since I'm currently playing Tekken 7 (I'm starting from this one)
As soon as i read bad combo i knew it was the one i was doing xD This video was KEY to managing my wall distances to pick the right enders for optimal damage.
Hey man, so glad I could help! It was a bit harsh calling the combo terrible xD But making good use of Leo's excellent conversion tools really seems to be key to unlocking Leo's damage potential. It feels great to hit that 28 dmg at the wall! 😎👌
The combo seems to drop on characters such as Bryan and Heihachi in practice if your df2 launch didn't happen at very close range. Then it drops on the 4 during b1,4. Unfortunate really. Edit: This issue seems to occur much more rarely if the b1,4 is delayed very slightly after df1
Thanks for taking the time testing and reporting your findings. :) That's roughly what I thought too, character specific drops. Sad, because the combo otherwise seems like a nice option (simple and damaging). Wish it was more consistent. I will refrain from showcasing that one in later videos and focus on more consistent options. 👍
Thank you! I am mind-blown with the optimizations, especially the oki. i do think i'll stay with the BnB except try to incorporate the oki. the KnK cancel is so hard I practiced it a lot to little success.
Hey, glad you found the video helpful and thanks a lot! ☺️ If you're looking for more content on Leo, I have another vid on wall carry and you can check the description for guides by people, much more knowledgeable than me. ^ ^ As for new videos I'll be taking a break for now, but you can expect more when Tekken 8 is released 😅
Glad you found the video helpful! I'm planning on releasing more videos, but I also wanna focus on characters that I'm more knowledgeable on. So it might take a while until there's another proper Leo video... In the meantime I'd like to refer you to the creators in the video description and the Leo discord discord.com/invite/Ya4XKtf. I'll be taking a lot of info from there anyways. :)
Personally in tournaments I use the bnb route and use uf1,2 to carry to the wall if there is one. If I’m in a pinch and need more damage I’d do Df2 f2 b1,4 cancel 1 jab, ff 3,4 bf 1+2 1+2 qcf 1+2 which also gives wall carry
Yo thank god I found your content no one puts out content for this character especially with this detail. Also when I do f4 into wr 314 or 324 into wr 314 it never seems to connect i can’t get the timing down is there something special to get it to hit or am I just a scrub?
@@tehkenfightergames4545tysm for replying the problem did end up being the delay Leo’s combos feel really weird at first but after putting more time in the lab they’re really fun i main lee and honestly I find Leo’s combos and knk cancels to be harder than lees back 2 cancels either way though you put out great content thanks for the help.
yo found your video after wanting to learn leo recently, Was shifting through the move list and saw db 2, 2 and was able to get it to connect after df2 4 b1,4 (was)3 f4 2 dash db 2,2. It leads to 59 damage with the opponent face up and away, with a knockdown and -2 on the frame data tool, but they are almost still touching toes with you at 1.8 distance.
For Oki, I tend to go for d1 more since it hard spikes to the ground and I can choose to enforce an immediate mixup. With the d/f2 buff, you can also just dash up after d1 as they're getting up and mix it with a hellsweep or qcf1.
Nice vid At walls splat the opponent and try to finish with ff3 d BOK2. You need to calculate distance from wall and using combo routes accordingly , potentially end combos prematurely, but it always pys off with that ender. B2 1+2 seems fine, but after screw if the opponent holding back, it will not leave them face down instead instantly stand and can block as usual. I like to use BD2, 2, will put them closer little harder to do due to weird input and maye cause sub-optimal combo route. But that is also a sacrafice I'm willing to make for scary pressure.
Thanks! I agree, getting the wall seems like the most important part in Leo's combo game, due to the excellent ff3 d (BOK)2 ender. When I made the video I just started playing Leo and thought I'd present some better, if not optimal options. I only use the bf 1+2 series in the video because it looks cool and didn't think about wether it might imply something. x) And I also learned of some better Oki enders since then. There's a few things I'd like to change about it in hindsight. I started to showcase more optimal stuff and will continue to do so in other videos, but for some reason this one gets more than 5x the views... xD Maybe I'll pin a comment saying the showcased combos are not quite optimal and highlight some different options there.
@@tehkenfightergames4545 Don't worry about the optimal part. Nothing is optimal, you trade something for something else. The question is always what you want to achieve with that combo or with anything. Something looks good, something has different utilities etc...
The combo I use is: Launcher, f2/f3 depending on height of launcher then: B1 4df uf1 1 S! WR 3+4 2 3 You can cancel the last hit if the wall is close and still easily convert for wall and this route gives more damage than the others. WR3+4 2 3 is also the most consistent ender post screw off axis

Hey, this video is mainly for beginner Leo players, but is pretty narrow in scope, as it only covers basic BnB combos off of df2. That being said df2 is your main launcher, so this should be decently useful info on some combo route options. :) I would recommend some additional guides concerning gameplay, such as m.th-cam.com/video/AKYIseE0exw/w-d-xo.html and m.th-cam.com/video/1h-NdEDfXP8/w-d-xo.html.
Try delaying the ws3 a bit less, that combo is pretty timing sensitive. There are some other good routes, which are easier to execute and more flexible, like f2 b1,4 df uf1,1 S! in case you wanna change it up. ☺
Maybe... But I always see this combo pop up here and there in tutorials and seen some players using it in matches. People seem to default to this route if they're not too familiar with the character. But I think this combo is very awkward and hinders players from experimenting with all the great combo tools Leo has. The combo you posted is quite optimal, but I don't really see it used by most newer Leo players sadly.
That's Leo for you! if you want a character with higher combo damage you should changu character x)... This video was not about combo damage tho, but rather about flexibility and wall conversion. I can guarantee that you won't get the wall at certain distances if you default to the 'standard BnB' combo, which will cost you 28! damage. The combos showcased in this video are optimized to have a short pre screw route for flexibility, good wall carry and many wallsplatting combo ender options.
