    I just bought a Buckmark Micro Bull for its price, and liked this video. The music is cheesy, so what? The explanation is easy to follow, and THAT is what is important. Knowing the wrench sizes is helpful. I think you should ignore the nasty, rude comments telling you how to help others. You'll never please nitpickers like that. Rave On!

    Great video, but I would have also liked to see how you cleaned each piece.
    I've read that, for simple cleaning, all you have to do is pull the slide back and run a lubed bore snake through the barrel, and maybe shoot some compressed air down the barrel, also spraying some lube into the mag compartment.

    • @Emp6ft10in
      @Emp6ft10in 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I also would have liked to see the actual cleaning. I'm not sure what I should be doing and I certainly don't want to damage the gun.

      @@Emp6ft10in I use a snake bore cleaner, they sell those at most Gun stores and I’m sure Amazon as them. It looks like a shoe string with 2 different colors, in the middle it has brass brushes sticking out. I’ve used it for 2 months and so far so good
      Edit: I use the snake bore cleaner because in my case the barrel’s screw is messed up. I took it back to turners and they said “you don’t need to take it apart, just use a snake bore”

    This is one rock solid pistol. Nice and open chamber for cleaning. Take the barrel off if you want, don't know why you'd want to except to maybe to change to a different barrel configuration, Browning has about 25 different barrel styles & lengths. The top bar is the same deal, no need to take off unless you want to. There is no need to take it off for cleaning.
    Just pull the slide back and look how open it is, everything is there in plain sight to clean. Genius. Very stout pistol.

    • @Hjerte_Verke
      @Hjerte_Verke ปีที่แล้ว

      Removing the top bar is NOT recommended unless re-zeroing is something you want to do every time you strip the pistol in this way. There is another method that keeps the top bar and the sights in one piece.

    This is a great instructional video,.but i'd like to offer a suggestion on the Allen wrenches you are using, and this will make your job a whole lot easier when using these tools; go buy yourself a set of 'Ball end' allen wrenches, these 'ball end' allen wrenches will allow you to spin the screws out and in, much easier by using the ball end as it operates much like an universal joint does, while making full contact with the allen head screws.
    I'm learning about guns from guys like you, but I've been in the equipment rental business for a long time, and I've learned a thing or two about tools,..so I'm passing this tip on to you. Thanks for this video.

    • @jeffofalltrades8489
      @jeffofalltrades8489 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey James, this is Jeff. This isn't my channel but I love helping people! With a .22, you don't really need to worry about replacing the spring. I never have with any of my weapons and I've never had an issue. Same reason I don't replace/buy new mags after a certain amount of time. If you think about it, the spring in the slide is decompressed for the majority of the guns life cycle. If the spring was compressed ALL the time, then you might think about replacing it, but it will always bounce back to where it is at, at a resting point. I hope this helped you!

    I recently purchased a browning identical to yours. After watching your great video I attempted to disassemble mine. After removing the top strap I lifted it off the and when I removed the spring assembly it flew apart. I had a hell of a time getting it back together. After doing so I found a very small half ring on the table. I have not attempted to take it apart again but I assume that half ring was to hold everything together. Any advice, I tried to call Browning but they were closed for the holidays. A very accurate pistol.

      It’s fun to shoot, but taking out the barrel is almost impossible. So I use a snake bore cleaner for .22 and it works fine.
      One problem that gets me frustrated every time vs other guns is that the plastic piece he showed. Oh man one needs tremendous finger strength, precision and patience to put it back because the spring will push it back and shoot it out of your hand. If it wasn’t for my glasses, I’d be blind from that lol.
      But seriously, shooting one is fun, owning one is a hassle when it comes to cleaning. I’d recommend just getting a glock with a .22 slide on it. A bit more $ that saves you 1-2 hours of trying to put it back together lol

It has the optic sights already (this is HUGE for me...a must have) and it's light weight, not many flaws and in my price range. If I get the Buck Mark or Ruger IV, I'd have to put on the optic sights. Plus the Ruger costs more. Ugh. If only I'd were rich. :-)

    Damn, keyboard rambos a little harsh on this guy and the very subtle quiet background music. Not a video breaker, gun comes with no instructions on breakdown whatsoever. He did a good job with this Browning and now I know how to.

      Your right, he did a great job demonstrating the field strip. But most people don't want that hassle anymore. The ruger is a better gun, and much much easier to take down. BTW, I didn't dog him , I just commented on the field strip.

    I bought this gun this morning.It jammed on the 2nd mag because the ejector bent. Browning told me they did not want owners to field strip these guns. I returned the thing to my dealer for a refund.

    So... I have an 89' buckmark silhouette. 10 inch barrel. I would like to remove the original picattiny rail which also have the front sight and rear sight assembly. I'd love to have a more standard top strap for the rear sight assembly and since the barrel is flattened on the top, to find a decent front sight piece. Original owner must have had this poodle popper zeroed in at 50 yards, cuz she's a tack driver there. Friggin outstanding really. I just want a little weight knocked off, and I'd love to have it look like the .44 AutoMag that Dirty Harry plinked at the gun range with in one of his movies, only a black version appearing plinker. Poodle popper, whatever you want to call it... I'll always be off colour humor wise. But I'd just like to lose the full length 1913 tactical rail . It just looks boring and Fat. And the parting line of the mount surface looks like a 1/16th inch (very not desirable) also an issue of a space for a whole bunch of nasty things that might be able to get in there and damage the factory finish. I'm not really thinking about a truglow type sight system. Nice and black keeps the rabbit from shooting back!!!

    The music skipping is incredibly annoying. May I suggest changing it to it's own thing during editing so it isn't so distracting when cuts are made?
    Otherwise great video, thanks for uploading a clear and fairly concise disassembly guide.

      john Novell it's a common practice. I rack my slide three times when putting away my duty weapon at the end of tour. Establish good habits and you'll never have a negligent discharge.

    • @PotatoGunsRule
      @PotatoGunsRule 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Racking a slide will not prove a chamber is empty though, we must use visual inspection or a finger to be sure. I expect you to know that, but lots of guys who use youtube do not.
      I like to hear my slides move too. :)
