    I actually loved this video. I follow a few different channels as I try and prepare for my first attempt at a modification on our new Jon boat and this was so great because it flowed slowly since it was uncut raw footage. The benefit for us newbies is we really get to watch the process unfold. Each pause while you’re thinking lets us do the same as we try and see if what we’re thinking is what you’re thinking, which is really helpful in “quizzing” our new comprehension and confirming that we’re building upon our knowledge and understanding. Thanks for sharing so we can get better without having to make as many mistakes along the way!! 👊🏻

    I have the utmost appreciation for how you do these videos. Something that sets you and a very few others apart from the herd is the explanations of why you are doing what you do, as well as why something did or did not work.

      @@fireantfishing I wouldn't change your format or methods at all. Even if it means shorter, and thus more, videos to cover any process, the content is what is important. It's easy to push buttons on a phone or cpu and watch another video...it is not so easy to find videos with actually valuable content. Keep it up!

    Great video man. I'm really impressed with how dialed in and tight that front deck hatch layout is. You won't have to sheet much! Looking good man, glad to see you chopping away on it!

    What thickness is aluminum plate for construction?

    Do you have a video explaining how to rivet the side rails in? This seems a little daunting to me and there’s not a lot covering above the water line

  • @buddytheweasel
    @buddytheweasel 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    This is amazing. I'm trying to start planning my own, which is an older model Lund WC14, with the 3 bench seats, not like the newer one with the split seats in the back, and that will probably make everything easier. But I can't seem to understand how to start with the subfloor, and if I need side rails to help mount the deck on. There's no ribs up in the front, two in the middle and they seem very shallow, so if I try to use 1.5" angled alum, it'll be taller than the rib. I guess I could use 1/16", made into an open U shape upside down over the ribs, but if it's taller then I won't be able to rivet it to the ribs. SMH

    What thickness angle did you use for the deck and the floor ?

  • @fishntools
    @fishntools ปีที่แล้ว

    Being right handed I would have positioned the motor controller off center to the right and had room for the seat pedestal. Think about it, control in center means I have to stand off center on my left to use it, thereby off balancing the boat.
    PS- fyi, the white side foam was in excellent condition and is far more buoyant then the pink, test it and you'll see.

    i know that this video was 3 years ago but judging from how long it takes you to drill them holes with that shitty drill bit lim guessing you are still working on this build. 1/4 of the video was drilling like 2 holes. jokes aside it looks good
