Awesome video... love the detailed angles. And yes, definitely MD88's oil tank right there, which means no more than 10 ft lbs. Most probably why the helicoils were shot
Great video! What's the deal with those studs stripping -- is it just the soft aluminum, or did you over-torque the nuts? I hope your parts clear customs soon. I year ago I ordered a thermo-time switch for my Mondial from eastern Europe, and it sat at the postage facility in Chicago (about 8 miles from where i live) for over two months (!). Hopefully you'll have better luck.
It’s a mix between it being soft aluminum and I assume the guy before me using power tools. That’s wild, you had to wait 2 months 🤯, I hope that’s not the case. I honestly think the parts will come in a few days or week 🤞🏻
I’ve been lucky, so far my 80s Ferrari has been very reliable. Only issue is chasing down a few electrical issues that feels like playing whack a mole.
Honestly if that’s the only issue you had, you’re definitely luckier than most classic car owners 😂 and I can only imagine how much of a nightmare Italian wiring is
@@SebastianDykier oh yea. It’s definitely a PIA. Suggestion, look into getting a Quickjack. I picked one up a couple months ago and it’s worth it’s weight in gold.
From what I read and learned from the people I know down here in Miami that curate these type of cars. It’s best to go for the “t” so 1988 and up since it has the Ferrari 348 engine, apparently it’s a much more reliable engine. Only down side is most major engine items require you to drop the whole motor where as the other ones have the 308 or 328 motor so you can get away working in the wheel well ( still not an easy job ). But all Ferraris from this time you need to inspect the bell housing, see if it over heats and look out for Mickey Mouse repairs.
@@SebastianDykier ... I'm not kicking the sheets at night thinking about this... Well people in the Ukraine are worried about drones.... Purchasing one is a bucket list for me... Good luck and enjoy the moment... California sends you it's best...
💯 percent has to be the reason, when I bought the car the brakes were fine and you can see they have a lot of meat left so them cracking is definitely a sign it sat for a while and of course other things.
@@SebastianDykier the brake pads on my car were cracked as well, i think they were the original ones? I’m currently having the radiator replaced in my car as it’s blocked up, hopefully i can put some miles on mine when the sun comes out!!
@@nigelwaterfall7172 mine can’t be original because it’s the same thickness as new ones, I think they changed it years ago and then it sat. Radiator should be a quick job so you’ll have her back on the road in no time 💪🏻
Sweet video man people don’t realize how much work it takes to keep those old girls running top notch!
💯 percent plus having to learn old systems, dealing with discontinued parts and overall lack of information.
Thanks!
You’re the man 💪🏻 Thank you 🙏🏻
“Toxic” relationship is the stuff of books, movies and all things mechanical! Keep up the great videos!
Thank you 🙏🏻 I’m glad you enjoyed it 💪🏻

The guy before me used powered tools for sure 🤦🏻♂️
Hope things are going ok and looking forward to your next video 👍
Just finished filming for the next video and some bad things did happen but in the end the cars running great now 💪🏻
@@SebastianDykier glad to hear it!
very cool and nicely done 👍🏻👍🏻🤗
@@fiors73 Thank you 🙏🏻
Great video bro. Love the title!
Glad you enjoyed it 💪🏻
Lol those “quick and easy jobs” always turn out to be the longest good job tho !!!
“ All you gotta do is “ = 7 hours with 3 trips to autozone and losing your 💩 about 12 times 😂
Proud of you 💪🏼
Thank you ♥️
Toxic? Is an understatement 😊
🤣 😆 for real 🤦🏻♂️

That’s going to be my next tool purchase for sure
Damn I wish AMM’s were detailed like that
Right ? That’s what I’m saying and their AOG desk is better than our 🤣

Your probably having problems because the car hasn’t been used much, once its been used a bit things will settle down, keep up the good work

You’ve got great mechanical skills. You should transfer them across industries 😂😂

Interesting
Thank you 💪🏻 🔧
Still got a bit dirty even after cleaning it. I think it would be best if you popped off the shirt 😉
