    Hi I really like the video. I was wondering if you could go a little more in depth with how using the earned boost mid snake drift affects the snake drift. I noticed you went straight but the initial one you initiated at an angle.
    How do you end the snake drift given the next turn is on either left or right side. IE Is it better to be close to the inside of the turn?

      in the intro i had extra nitro going in so I could keep momentum indefinitely. In the guided example I had 1 nitro & no speed so i had to use nitro time to gain speed + build tension.
      Initial angle is more forgiving on wide maps. On narrow maps you'll want the angled approach.
      Generally you want to end with kart angled toward the turn like in the cut drift examples in my tension video. So like in the guided example, left > right would be appropriate for a right turn. If you happen to do the opposite you can use short-drift to fix your angle.
      For position it depends on the turn/drift so maybe 1-3 kart widths away from the wall

    So excited to see a new video from you! Your tutorials have helped me a bunch. I've been doing snakes without the cut drifts to correct the cart, and it seems to work kinda the same. Am I losing speed by not cut drifting? I tend to just do a full one way then the other. I'm on controller. Thanks!

      cut drift is absolutely necessary to keep momentum and setup tension when snaking with nitro

      @@donutkr3819 Thanks! Do swiftcuts work for doing snakes or does it require the full two drift button presses every time?

    • @donutkr3819
      @donutkr3819  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@raramstad swift cut is mainly used for tighter snake lines and for getting smaller amounts of nitro. i just wanted to focus this video on a single technique. in my bayside bridge time attack vid i mix it up based on how much nitro i need

    Can you do an updated toktok video and examples in certain maps where it’s important such as gold rush?

    • @ginahillig
      @ginahillig ปีที่แล้ว

      I would be interested in this as well, I am still struggling with this and either ending my drift early or going into the wall most of the time

    • @robbytherob
      @robbytherob ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ginahillig Basically you should be gaining speed not losing so if you pay attention to your speedometer and see it dropping then you're not doing it right. Sometimes in gold rush my speed goes above 237 during the long turn and sometimes it goes to 219. The max speed in a straight surface is 237 so if you are boosting while going downhill you should be exceeding 237 unless something is very wrong. Like I mentioned sometimes my toktok hits 240's and sometimes it's 219. Not sure what I'm doing wrong.

      @@robbytherob u gatta let go of the left/right direction for a tiny bit to speed up. too much turning force will slow u down. a toktok video is pretty low priority atm but i wanna remake it for krd in the future

    Could you do a video on dusty bazar ? Im trying to get on. The NA leader board but need to shave off a few seconds. Specifically how the ledges/drops affect your drift. What should I be doing for hand or just pretend like arent there.

    Is there a scenario where you're better off using a quick cut during snaking or is that pretty much exclusively used for topping up a little boost?

    • @donutkr3819
      @donutkr3819  ปีที่แล้ว

      you can still use swift cut to top off if you have like 80%. Normally you'd mix between normal cut and swift cut depending on how much nitro you need. Swift cut snaking by itself is usually used for narrow straight roads
