I’ve been magic-knotting all of my smaller scraps together as I go. I roll the “yarn” as I add to it. I plan on making a memory blanket when I get enough together. It will be like Dolly’s “Coat of Many Colors” and probably hideous, but it will fun to make!

This is my goal too, my yarn room looks like a tornado tore through it. I purchased an inexpensive 12 cube storage unit to help me get a handle on things. I can see that I will be needing another one!! I am videotaping the process, and it's good to know that I am not alone with having a yarn room from hell, lmao!!

When I cake leftover yarn, I always tuck the yarn label in the outside of the cake, so I have all the fibre content to hand, and the weight/length of a full ball. Then by weighing the cake I can work out the approximate length of yarn in it.

lol well I watched this 2 years after it came out but I am making a blanket for my bed in 6 or 7 colors (think cream to beige to light pink, a darker pink, a berry, and a wine) but each color is used for the rows until the skein runs out so I was finishing my beige rows/skein and preparing to swap to light pink tomorrow morning!

I watched the replay while I was crocheting a scarf for donation to a homeless organization in my friend's hometown. I thought maybe you'd have about 12 hooks found 😂😂. And I was thinking maybe you could take a picture of how you have the Hobbit yarn in sequence just in case it gets knocked over or spilled out of the basket. Great idea Krista. Love you and appreciate. I was sitting at our table thinking on finishing a baby blanket i did for a friend of my brothers whose wife is expecting their 2nd baby in May. Then im going to make momma one she might share with her hubby. Then im going to order a baby set that has the cross stitch blanket, 2 bibs, and the birth announcement to hang on the wall. They are taking care of my brother and rebuilding the cabin my family built in 1970. Once the cabin is done they all will move into that one. My brother isn't in good health and is ready to face our lord and Savior in heaven

Do you have anything for semi beginners like me for a big blanket and another baby blanket.
I did the stich called the thicket/suzette stitch on the baby blanket with a row of single crochet air the border and the double crochet above the single border to really finish it off.
It came out cool. 4 shades of green with white in it.
The other crocheted baby one is varigated blues and mommas blanket is varigated purple, blues, and pink. Going to find hopefully the same color blue it has in it and add that to it too.
Do you think you could help me out with an easy pattern for mommas blanket cuz I'd like to make it pretty big; then make the babies bigger than crib size
