Iisalmi (Swedish: Idensalmi) is a town and municipality in the Region of Northern Savonia in Finland. The municipality has a population of 21,947 (31 March 2016) and covers an area of 872.13 square kilometres (336.73 sq mi) of which 109.22 km2 (42.17 sq mi) is water. The population density is 28.77 inhabitants per square kilometre (74.5/sq mi). The municipality is unilingually Finnish.
Iisalmi traces its roots back to 1627, when the parish of Iisalmi was formed around the local church. In the 18th century, when Finland was under Swedish control, Sweden was frequently at war with Imperial Russia, and the area of Koljonvirta in Iisalmi was a battlefield on which one of the greatest Swedish victories occurred. However, Sweden lost its last war with Russia and had to surrender Finland to the Russian Empire in 1809. Iisalmi gained its status as town in 1891.

Remember times when we had such beautiful winters down here in Poland. Now it's history. Two weeks of snow is all we get through all the winter, and it's pretty constant for like five years now. I've been checking the Iisalmi live cam here on TH-cam daily and noticed they even get snow in early May. Bummer.

usually kids do play outside with sleds in wintertime,and they probably are in some sleddinghill nearby!

You know, other countries have their own laws. Something that is a law in england or america may not be a law in Finland, or Germany, or Norway...
Don't think they let you drive legally with cracked windshield anywhere in the EU. The road laws and rules are pretty consistent all across the board here. It's just the people who don't fix their cars at time.
depends about crack, if it blocks/disturbs vision too much you have to fix it.

Cindy S we have these things called speed limits and the limit is something 40km/h.
Throughout this video he drives through urban areas and in neighborhood areas. You can't exactly floor it in those areas, especially on icy roads.
Cindy S it looks super slow but when you are in the car it's actually fast but in finland and winter u should be careful since we have that much snow and a lot of bad weathers
Fins are the best drivers in the world.So many rally champions came from Finland.Automotosport is in their blood.And it's these kind of weather conditions that make them great drivers.
Cindy S that is a really stupid comment, you may not value life, driving in town, as in this video, consideration of others, drivers, and pedestrians is paramount. thankfully I know that your attitude is not one that most Americans hold. if you had the opportunity to sit beside a " Fin" driving in a snow rally, by the end you'd be looking for fresh underclothes.
