I’m becoming Catholic, fully immersed in RCIA right now. The last three minutes of this video are what it’s all about. I’m looking forward to my first Ash Wednesday where I really know its true meaning. Moving away from sin, opening my heart to the love of our Lord Jesus Christ, becoming a better person, there’s no better feeling. I’m truly living the happiest days of my life.
Happy Ash Wednesday 2024! Come join us in the Catholic faith. Make an inquiry with your local parish about the RCIA conversion for adults. It was the best decision I ever made. God bless you! In the name of Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit Amen. ✝️
I have come back to this video on every Ash Wednesday since 2018 and I have always gone through it to the end with my eyes filled with tears of bitterness for my sins; at the same time, tears of gratitude as well for the mercy of God through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. And in Father Mike's words, “you're mine”😭... WOW... May God be praised always 🙌🏽

THAT WAS SO BEAUTIFULLL I received the cross on my forehead today for the very first time in my life and the Mass felt so different and I teared up a little. I feel love, comfort, forgiveness as well as brokenness when I was listening to the readings and songs. I walked around with the cross on my forehead the whole day because it felt safe to have the cross on. At first, I did felt uncertain because people did looked at me while I was walking to class but eventually I didn't care because I'd rather feel safe than regret not having the cross on my forehead. It feels like God's grace is helping me fight the demons. Thank you for this wonderful video!!!
Fantastic video father Mike. Extremely heartfelt. I have been raised a Catholic and never really understood what Ash Wednesday was. I'm very glad to have just learned it from you in a very deep sense. Thank you, and God bless what you do.
+Michael Larson It's sad that many people are taught the lies and deceit of the pagan perverted catholic faith. And why the prayers to mother mary for intercession to Jesus? You're praying to a dead woman that was just as sinful as the rest of us. Praying to dead people or trying to communicate with them is called Necromancy. Read Ecclesiastes 9:5. KJV. Prayers on behalf of the dead have no meaning, for nothing can be changed by them. God's Word shows that the dead no longer have any physical or mental activity (Psalm 146:4;Ecclesiastes 9:5, 10). Each person who dies sleeps in his grave in unconsciousness until the resurrection (John 5:28-29; Daniel 12:2; Job 19:25-26; 14:12-14; John 3:13; Acts 2:29, 34). Clearly, prayers should be for the living while there is still hope of repentance, not for the dead, who can do nothing. Abstaining from pagan invented holi-days like the mass of christ or christmass is another invention of the catholic faith.
+Ears14U excuse me?! If we even call the lands Jesus walked in holy, then how should we approach to the womb that carried him Carried God. You are just insulting her even if you don't realize. And you cannot follow Christ while insulting the person he (God) called 'Mother'.
Praying for you that your eyes may be opened, that you may experience His Divine Mercy and Forgiveness for profaning His Holy Church, as well as the grave insult to OUR Mother, Blessed Mary. God Bless you, that you may see the light even brighter and truly begin to walk with Christ.
I’m a catholic youth and I’m trying to be closer to my faith and god, and I’m trying to understand more about everything that we do and when he said what the cross meant it brought me to tears like i always know god loves me but to hear the words in that way was just very touching and made me understand more what it truly meant to be a child of god
Thank you, Father Mike. I have cried through my Masses & my prayers for most of my life. These tears today were so special, as they brought me closer to our Lord. I wish you every Lenten Blessing. Am a very tired Covid nurse & Jesus has carried me through so much. Thank you for the wonderful lessons, which I need so much. I love how our Lord uses all our wonderful discoveries (the internet) for His greater glory. I swear, once you begin to see how God weaves everything together, you can not stop seeing His hand all around, in your day. Master Weaver & Abba, please bless your servant, Father Mike with all the gifts he will need to help carry us, until we can walk, then run to the loving arms of Jesus. May the Mercy of my Jesus carry you always, in agape. ✝️❣

Thank you for this wonderful video!!!
beautiful explanation , and the fact you were so moved to nearly tears, speaks volumes, thank you
"You are dust and to dust you will return"
That's what I recall Ash Wednesday to be...short human life on Earth long spiritual life in Heaven.
Fantastic video father Mike. Extremely heartfelt. I have been raised a Catholic and never really understood what Ash Wednesday was. I'm very glad to have just learned it from you in a very deep sense. Thank you, and God bless what you do.
well. become active in church. attend a bible study and meet new people. :)
God bless you!
+Ears14U Whatever works for you Ears.
Brings tears to my eyes every time. Thank you, amen 🙏🤍

So grateful and so blessed to be Catholic... Thanks for the priests, especially those who are like you, Fr. Mike! God bless you all!
Father Mike - You're a great man and a fine priest. I know God is very pleased with you. Thank you for this video - it was insightful and inspiring. I received my ashes yesterday at Sacred Heart Church in Whiting, Indiana from our pastor Father Jay. I love you Father Mike!
God bless you, Fr. Mike! God bless you for delivering the Word of God in a way that deeply touches our hearts! It has been countless times your video makes me feel like you in my room talking directly to me and my broken heart. I know many people have the same feeling. It means you are used by God! You are a holy man! Miss your homilies in Duluth but keeping in touch from distance. God bless!
I love your passion father Mike .
Ash Wednesday 2017, just recieved my cross from the Chaplain where I work and came across this video and I'm so glad I did even though I'm sitting here in tears now having watched it. How great it is to be so loved - so *unconditionally* loved by our Lord!
I can’t go to church since last March due to snow Covid 19 and other health issues I am a high risk for Covid but I am doing Lenten purification We get our second Covid shot Feb 24 and have to wait one month before it’s fully active so then we will go to mass daily and until then read the Catholic Bible and say a daily rosary for all people who struggle with disease God Bless Fr Mike you explain our faith well 🙏🙏
Thank you Fr. Mike. You are the best. God bless you and bless us all during this Lent of 2021.
thanks so much, even though I didn't go to mass on ash Wednesday, though I was home, this message moved me to remember who I am and that I am not meant to live alone. I was really touched. I know priests are very busy so thank you for taking time to share with us. God bless you.
Father Mike always deliver straight to the heart and it pierced right through and in that moment I can't hold my tears. Thank you father Mike.
Beautiful Father and so powerful. Thank You for all you do.
I love Father Mike!!!! Thank you for sharing your wisdom with us. I have never felt so proud of the ashes in my forehead
As a Baptist that has interacted with so many Catholics over the years, I really appreciate this video! Ash is so important to you guys. Thanks, Father!
This talk moved me so much especially when receiving the ashes hearing Jesus say " Mine, you are Mine"!
Thank you Father Mike and God Bless You for reaching out to so many of us in need ❣️✝️
Watch this every lent to revisit the reasoning for this. And man it gets me every time. Thanks Father Mike! You are the man pointing to the Man.
Thank you Ascension Presents and especially Fr Mike for all your talks. Really needed to hear this. Beautiful and easy to understand, as always. God bless! : )
what a positively incredible segment from Father Mike. This really spoke to me and even had me tearing up by the end.
Fr. Mike, I'm watching your entire series of vlogs on Lent. Thank you for sharing. I'm Anglican. You're vlogs are awesome.
Lisa Clark yay I'm not the only Anglican who watches him!
Father, I love your passion for God, the church and explaining things to us. I look forward to the daily readings from The Bible in a Year podcast. Thank you!
Fr. Mike always gives such an inspiring message. You can tell he really cares about everyone and understands our humanity. Love to listen to him
Matthew 23:9
Absolutely beautiful this brought me to tears. Thank you father Mike and ascension press for putting all this media out there into the world for people to find for people to convert to for people to pray and change to. The ashes mean I am a sinner, but because of the Cross I am saved how beautiful.
I cried through half of this video which I am presenting this Sunday to my RCIA participants.I'm a cradle Catholic and have always attended Ash Wednesday Mass. I distribute ashes as an extraordinary minister each year. However, the words I state as I make the ash cross on others' foreheads has been almost robotic but never will be again after watching this video. Thank you. I am humbled.
Beautiful, Pam! Thanks for sharing this! God bless you!
good morning Father Mike and Ascension family, it is Ash Wednesday.
I am planning to attend mass this morning at Saint Peter’s. 💕
A great & powerful message 🙌🏼 Thank you Father Mike ✝️
Amen

God bless Father Mike and his passion and love for our Lord. I watch this one every year and it always impacts me so much.
Thank you for everything you said here. I know it was God speaking through you. Fr. Mike I can tell that you love all of us. I can see that God loves through you. I want to be like you and love others as you do.
"that he is making me right now into the person that he believes he wants me to be..." beautifully said. Thank you, Father Mike.
Great job, even today. I passed it along to my 8 kids and their spouses. Thank you, Father Mike.
Gracias querido padre Micke! Una gran cuaresma para todos llena del amor de Dios!
This is my first Ash Wednesday. I was invited by a friend. We will be attending after work. I didn’t know much about it but listening to you video gave me more reassurance. Thanks for the information. God Bless you!
God Bless you Father and Ascension Presents for all the great work you do.
Adrianne Bendu Matthew 23:9And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.
This has to be the most beautiful talk on the meaning of Ash Wednesday that I have ever heard. Jesus says "Mine." Wow. That is so incredibly powerful. Thank you so much for this.
We Assyrians still celebrate Ash Wednesday by fasting 3 days & 3 nights to commorate Jonna visit to our Aceint capital Ninve capital of Assyrian Empire
Jonah was one of my lansman
Father Mike, I love your devotion to Jesus, your emotional demeanor I want this Lent to be the best lent ever in my life, you and others help me to make this the most wonderful gift…….knowing I am worthy of Gods love…..
This was the first Ash Wednesday I came to tears while praying and feeling the Holy Spirit fully, the joy at the mass.. I loved this video!! I'm Jesus'.
In all my years that is the single most, most accurate and utterly moving , message of hope, and I actually am so looking forward now to ash wednesday because it will mark me not looking back, but becoming the person I should and need to become, all because I wanted to show my son what Ash Wednesday was about and why as his first full participant mass it was important to observe why we did this, what I didn't expect was it to take my breath away and move me to tears thank you
This was beautifully explained and helped me explain ash Wednesday to my son. thank you!
It is with nostalgic fondness that I listen to this guy. He is the manifestation of the Baltimore Catechism.
Fr. Mike I love the Videos, I have learned so much from you I pray you continue. God bless.
Do we take the ashes off the following day or do we leave them on until they come off?
Thank you Jesus for taking posession of what is yours, my whole being. Lord you are so real and when I surrender to you completely you show your glory in the most magnificent way. Take me by the hand and lead me to higher grounds. Thank you for your forgiveness.
I am a sinner but I also have a savior... Amen to that!
Wow... this was the biggest Epiphany in my Catholic Spiritual Journey ...I have come aCross🎯
Thank you F. S... yes, as parents we realise the " mistakes" our children made stem from US..initially.. now i see how Our Father can see us as His, and take the sin away.♡
Thank you Father Mike and God bless you.
Educational, inspiring, moving... just what I needed to understand the significance of Ash Wednesday better! And how to respond to comments from non-Catholics about what and why. THANK YOU Father Mike!
So beautifully said...I felt Jesus saying you are mine.....thank you Father Mike
Reshma Thomas Matthew 23:9And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.
@@yussefbechara714 do you even know what that means
This was the best explanation of Ash Wednesday I’ve heard. Thank you for making it so relatable.
"The ashes mean I'm a sinner but the cross means I have a Saviour..."
I Love Ash Wednesday. Anytime I am asked I feel ti is a gift - a time to share my faith.
